  • For the 4th time since I've owned this 75 C3 Corvette my passenger side window went down and won't go back up. This time I attempt to repair without removing the door card.

Hey Gary. Yeah I believe you're right. These Vettes can hide quite a few "things" LOL. I put an aftermarket radio in mine and it's alot smaller so there's better access through the side panels, not much but alittle more ,LOL. Hopefully you'll the problem & it's easily accessed & fixed. Have a good 'un.

Good one Dave.. Those electrical issues can drive u nuts... You're a lot better on the electrical stuff than I am... When it gets into relays and other parts in the electrical system, I'm lost.. Well I hope the new battery completely solves all the issues with the window... Dave u take care my friend and God Bless...

Hey Gary, thanks for watching. Electronics on these old classics aren't too bad, it's when you've got to deal with microprocessors, sensors everywhere and the need for special test eqt is when I fall way short, LOL. As for the battery, I'm waiting on it to fail or be too weak again, then I'm biting the bullet for a new one. Have a good 'un.

Thanks Billy. Trying to find the correct torque spec is proving to be very elusive to me too. I've not had the need to dive into mine yet so I'm no help on that but with that said I found this thread on a popular Vette site that may be helpful: www.corvetteforum.com/forums/c3-tech-performance/1133426-what-is-the-approximate-torque-value-of-pinion-shaft-nut.html
GTR1999 is supposed to be a guru on these rears.
Good luck & thanks for watching.

Every time my windows go down I noticed the power box gets pushed outward? I would assume it's the entire mechanism doing this, but not really sure, have any of you guys seen this before too?

Hey epasternak, if you're talking about how the window elec motor pushes out when it raises or lowers then yes, I've noticed it. An important function of the side plate that unbolts to give access to the motor is to limit how far the elec motor pushes out so it won't bind the window regulator and lock it up. Don't ask, LOL.
      Thanks for watching.
