Freddie did the right thing by trusting only Mary. Other people he was close to wrote books about him revealing a lot of personal information I'm sure Freddie didn't want to share with the public. What's sad is that some fans hate Mary based on lies from one of those books.

Mary did not kick Hutton out. 😳 they were all given 3 months. A law needed while probate of his WILL went through. Pheobe his assistant also stated that fact. Hutton wrote that crap in his book. Also, his house was paid for by Freddie along with acres of land before Freddie died. Pheobe said Freddie ensured they they all had somewhere to go when they had to leave. Mary ran Garden Lodge, the accounts, the bills and the payments to staff. She still to this day runs Freddie's estate and is still secretary to Freddie's 3 companies, MightyTape, Goose Productions and Mercury Songs. I suspect because of this fact, Mary was the best person to leave his estate too because Hutton would know nothing about running Freddie's companies or his estate. Mary was the best choice. Freddie knew what he was doing. The Diana story is not true also. It was a story that has since been seen as happening when all those around Freddie totally debunked the story. I wish these videos would look into the truth before putting these stories in....this is why people believe them to this day.

Yes Mary is still alive and living in Garden Lodge and friends and family still receive a Christmas Hamper from Freddie over 30 years since he passed away, he had certain things written into his Will one of which was, you can do anything with my music and image, just don't make me boring. He chose to give up the medication which was beginning to fail like his body, he just stayed on painkillers, he chose when he wanted out, and worked until around two months before he died, he drew up the press release once he knew he would never leave home again and released it the day before he died, so everyone knew as they'd all been keeping it a secret for a few years, he wanted to go out on his terms

The first time I saw/heard of Queen was when Killer Queen came out. I thought the band was from another planet! Especially Freddie. Glam rock was the rage and he was the the poster child for it. NO ONE was making music like they were. Truly ground breaking. Queen was one of my favorite bands in High School with We Will Rock You being a mantra at sporting events and such. Watching them on tv perform for Live Aid was a true experience. I wish I could have been in the audience. My son has a particular fondness for Queen. When he was little I would play Bohemian Rhapsody for him and he would head bang in his car seat whenever he heard it (lol!). It was his favorite song. Right before he deployed to the Persian Gulf (he is in the Navy), we went to see the movie Bohemian Rhapsody and we laughed and cried together through the whole thing. Thank you Freddie and Queen for all the great music and memories. I miss your music so much!

You should react to The Show Must Go On, These Are the Days of Our Lives, Let Me Live, and No-One But You in that order. The Show Must Go On rips my heart out every time because it definitely sounds like he's saying Goodbye. Let Me Live is a gospel type song and was included on the album Made In Heaven which was released a few years after Freddie died, but his vocals were actually recorded in the mid-80s and set aside until the others added to it. TATDOOL was the last video Freddie did, and although he looks really sick the charisma and smile are still there. It ends with him telling the viewers "I still love you". No-One But You is a tribute to him done by the other members of Queen, with bassist John Deacon retiring from music right after that.

Another reaction candidate would be Who Wants to Live Forever, as that song became that much more bittersweet after Mercury's passing. The version from the Freddie Mercury Tribute concert featuring Seal could also be a good reaction song candidate since Brian and Roger get so visibly emotional during the song.

I was a Queen fan from about 1974 on. In 1980 I couldn't believe Queen was coming to my hometown, Syracuse, NY on September 24. It was quite a spectacle to behold at the War Memorial with a crowd of about 5000. 2 days later, my Aunt invited me to visit Boston to look at some colleges. While reading the Globe, I spotted an ad for a concert that night at the old Boston Garden. I mentioned to Aunt that I could not believe a band I really liked and had just seen was playing there tonight. "So go, if you have the money for a ticket," she said. I did and it was there in the audience from my slightly obstructed view that I learned that John Bonham had died the night before, which Freddie solemnly acknowledged. As for the performance? Let's say the Syracuse show, as much as I'd enjoyed it, was put into perspective as Queen at the Garden (with 13,000 people in the audience) proved to be a world class rock'n'roll show. Very memorable to my young mind.

Jamel, the Princess Diana story has been debunked. It was an entertaining story that people believed for years but Freddie's personal assistant & close friend Peter Freestone has stated it never happened. This is why, as I've said before, you can't believe everything in those Grunge videos. They state things as fact even though a little research & fact checking would show that it's not.
Fortunately it's a story that doesn't damage Freddie's reputation but it wouldn't matter if it did or not, they put it out there.
Most of what they said about Mary Austin is true, she was his most trusted confidante till his dying day. A wonderful lady & yes, she's still alive.
But they said she "kicked out" Jim, Freddie's partner, after Freddie's death. She gave Jim & the other 2 friends who lived in Freddie's house (Garden Lodge) a year to find another place to live. Being as he left each one a substantial amount of money, they could easily find another place.
Freddie wanted Mary, who was pregnant with her 2nd child when Freddie died, to live at Garden Lodge & raise her children there. It became her home. It's completely understandable she'd want the guys to find their own place & a year was more than enough time. Hardly "kicking them out".
Besides some money, Freddie also left Jim a small house in Ireland that they had vacationed in. I don't know if he built another house later but he had the house Freddie left him, readily available when he wanted it. Again, not correctly reported in this video.
They mix facts with rumor, speculation & incomplete stories (as they also did with Elvis & others). As with the previous videos you did, you can't take everything they say as fact or necessarily true.

spot on. Ive read and heard interviews on evidence that Love of My Life wasn't really about Mary. it was about a love he had while he was living with Mary in the 70s, a lover who didn't feel about Freddie the same way Fred felt about him. Which makes the lyrics more make more sense when you really think about them. Mary didnt leave him. It was the other way around.

I think we may have had this conversation a few times too many already!
the misunderstanding is on Brian. fans believed he did the song in one take based on his comments and giving no further explanation.
he said he was concerned if Freddie could sing the song, he took a vodka and lacerated it, he implied the whole song, he didn't explain at the time or soon after that he was referring to the more difficult section
Freddie is the writer and composer of Bo Rap
even Brian wouldn't claim he or the others are co writers of the song.
everyone knew at the time and now that Brian started writing the solo for Freddies songs but no one inc Brian claimed he is a co writer of all Freddie songs which he wrote a solo for.
the only issue was early on
brian' I think I wrote most of the second middle 8th 'we definitely worked on that but he said he wrote the song.it was his song oh ok

I was 10 when I discovered Queen in 1977. Within a couple of years, in had every Queen album and Freddie being gay was talked about. In 1980, an artist being gay was a negative talking point. When I was still just a kid, I would respond to people saying that he's bi. And has a girlfriend.
I had spent an entire summer at 12, in the library researching articles about queen spanning a decade. I had put together a portfolio about the band with copies of everything I found. I didn't care if he was gay/bi, whatever. That wasn't important. The fact that I loved Queen and their charismatic singer was all I cared about. I couldn't care less if other kids thought I was gay because of this.

My favourite singer... my favourite band! Unique and eclectic as it can be witnessed in their truly varied discography and the songs they mention in the video: The Show Must Go On and Mother Love... In the last promotional video they shot (for the great song These Are the Days of Our Lives) one can see more or less how he looked in his final days (they even decided to shoot it black and white to help him look not that sick - there's a video about the making of it that is definitely not for the faint of heart). The song There Must Be More in Love Than This appeared in one of his solo albums and, later on after Freddie's death, the band reworked it with MJ vocals, so now the rare duet can be found in the Queen 2014 ballads collection "Queen Forever". ...And I totally agree, he's a legend and an icon!

I found the portrayal unfair throughout the film
he may have been constantly cheating on her but people who knew him at the time said he wasn't pernicious at that time
it does seem that the only time he cheated was with David who said if you don't tell her I'm leaving you.
Mary didn't mention David only explained that when he was trying to explain she said are you trying to tell me you are gay he didn't answer just hugged her
she said she was happy to see him be his real self and happy again as he had not been happy for a long time
in the film she was just upset and worried for him and it was implied they didn't see each other for a long time, she said she supported him from when he told her
his previous gf said she knew he also liked men, in earlier interviews mary also suggested there were two conversations earlier that he liked men then that he was gay
he was portrayed as sneaking around bars on his own finding out he liked men but it felt very sleazy almost ashamed of being gay which isn't true
I hate that they pretended mary was pregnant in 1985 and Freddie was selfish about it,theres nothing to suggest this.
he was happy for her so why portray him like that things like that felt spiteful

I've always liked Queen, never my favorite but always respected their talent. One of the saddest things I've ever read is the story of the last few days of Freddie's life. Heartbreaking to say the least, the fact that he had to hide his illness and deny who he was is just insane. We are far from perfect as a society but we've come a long way. It reminds me of the great Arthur Ashe who contracted HIV from a blood transfusion during surgery, I remember people making a point to say it was from blood, not from unprotected sex, as if dying from being infected from a transfusion is more noble. Either way we have lost a lot of good people to this virus. If anyone is interested I can dig up that link to the final days of Freddie story. But it's not an easy read.

There’re many things .....oh, so many things, that I could say about this AMAZING man; however, I’ll not do so, lest my thoughts/feelings/conjectures be misconstrued, as that could perhaps perpetuate the unwarranted condemnation(s) ‘Moral Superiority/Hierarchy’ of this One-In-A-Trillion’s Gifts to the effort to ‘Keep Great Music Alive’ ....and I know, Jamel/Jamal....will 💯 understand & agree where I’m coming from.🤩😎😍🤗

Freddie called Mary his common law wife and the love of his life. He said that if she had been his wife, she would have gotten everything so that's why he left her everything. He remained very close to Mary from the time they lived together and he felt Mary was the person who knew the real him, the person he was most comfortable with. He was the godfather of one of her children. He had an undying loyalty to Mary as she had to him, even though they both moved on to other partners. You could probably say that lovers come and go, but someone like Mary remains. She helped take care of Freddie at the very end because he wanted her with him. She is still alive and still manages his business and house. And yes, it's been said by his bandmates and many others that Love of My Life was written for Mary. Some say it was written from her perspective, but I honestly think it was written by Freddie for himself because he thought she would leave him when he told her he was attracted to men. It was expected back then so he would have every reason to think that. If you listen to it from that perspective, you'll see what I mean. Freddie felt he'd be broken if Mary truly left him. He couldn't stand the thought of it. If you want to know how much he loved and trusted her, just think about the fact that he left her the bulk of his estate, his royalties, care of his ashes and care of his beloved cats. That really says it all. He didn't trust his family, his bandmates, his lover or any of his other friends to do it. He trusted Mary.
The thing about Freddie's teeth. Freddie had four extra teeth in the front (incisors I believe) and he believed that is what gave him his range so he wouldn't have his teeth fixed.
I remember when Freddie died. I had gone outside to eat lunch at work and I turned on the radio to hear that Freddie had died of AIDs. I just started crying. It was horrible to lose him to that disease because not long after is when they came out with the first treatments that would have saved him.

From what I had read about Mary, they were pretty much best friends, and remained very close, up until his death. If he could trust anyone, it was Mary. Freddie had referred to her as the love of his life. He almost MARRIED her! I loved reading about their relationship. I think the main point they were making, about sexuality, is that many gay icons were actually bi, not gay. Even today, bisexuals are labeled according to whom they are dating at the time.

And that is what really killed Freddie !! Anyone interested in the TRUE story of HIV, research what Kary Mullis said, Kary Mullis was the brilliant scientist and Nobel Prize Winner in Chemistry that invented PCR technology, who stated for many years that PCR CAN NOT tell you anything about infection. Mullis was asked to write a paper on HIV being the probable cause of AIDS but when he began the paper he couldn't find a scientific paper that proved HIV even existed, he stated 'It's a scam, they made it up' !!

Legendary! He made her wish come true - she got to be anonymous for the whole evening because he was the focus. He willingly offered himself up to be used as a distraction. He was so, so smart & clever and he definitely was a true friend to her.

Mary was a long-time, dear friend of Mercury. He left the bulk of his estate, including a house to her & her daughter. She seriously didn't want him to do that but after he explained to her why it was so important to him, she agreed. She said he once told her, "if things turned out differently, we'd be married & your daughter would be mine". I believe that Mary is still alive.

He had 4 extra teeth in the back which he felt made his vocal range what it was, and to remove the teeth, would change his voice.
Mary is still living in Freddie’s, now hers, Garden Lodge Mansion in London.
Freddie was born in Zanzibar, East Africa, now Tanzania, to ancient Persian Zoastrians, that fled ancient Persia (modern day Iran) for India…. Centuries ago.
