It really really limits the potential, and I think a lot of people don't care using money cheats if it means they get a gorgeous place for their sims to live

I think you should try to do some small multi pack builds… like only having three packs, and it’s just a a single expansion, game and stuff pack each. I feel like using common combos (like I’m sure a lot of people who own laundry day would then have parenthood and cats and dogs) would be fun and more useful than just base game and one pack. I think being in a 5-7 pack range is also reasonable, especially if you use important items like windows and wallpaper from expansion packs that a lot of people have and only using decor from the smaller packs not as many people have.

And even if they don't use cheats, a lot of people play legacies and legacy families have a lot of money

I said this already but I'll say it again, I would live if you did a series of videos where you built a house with only two or three packs at the time as opposed to using only one and basegame, it gives us more of an idea of what packs go well together and it's more similar to how most people play the game since I think most of us only have a couple of packs that we like the style of or that we love for game play
It also give us an opportunity to see what packs match and that is very helpful for someone who has only a handful of packs and is thinking about buying another one but is not sure which
You could make it a series and build a couple of houses where you use packs that go well together, like decor to the max, paranormal & strangerville or the castle pack and vampires, it could be a sort of "what to get next if you love pack X" series

I don't think you ever have to apologise for playing and building in a way that makes you happy, simsie! You bring so many people so much joy and comfort, it's absolutely not on you if a handful of people get annoyed or jealous that you build with a lot of packs sometimes. You make a huge effort to build limited pack / base game builds, it's totally fine and good to build with all your packs when you want to!
can we get more no budget builds please ? i want to see her creative side more often. when she is not limited i’m always amazed by her vision. anyway, this build impressed me because i really hate brown+green combo but she made it work 😮

I would love to see some limited pack builds that don't have a limited budget. Right now it feels like everyone you do one of these builds you try to keep it affordable, but id love to see a fully decked out family home with just a few packs!
I think the green and dark brown color scheme can work if you really lean into the "dark academia" vibes-dark wood, patterned wallpaper, gold/bronze fixtures, etc. (I realize Parenthood doesn't give you much to work with there, hah.)
Great job with this! I especially love how you did the tree wall in the dark blue kid's room.
This is just my opinion, and frankly I love this build either way cuz simsie is a great builder, but when she does these limited pack builds I'd rather her not do budget challenges. Some packs just come with expensive items, and I'd rather see her get super creative with ALL the pack stuff even if you have to cheat for the house in-game. Like, packs cost money, but cheats are for everyone

I think doing builds with a 'bundle' (one EP one GP one SP) is a nice midway point between limited packs/base game and unlimited packs. but I hope you don't feel too bad about using your packs, you really shouldn't! you do such a wide range of builds plus it's not like you can't download builds with packs you don't have!

Simsie (Kayla), i love your content and vibe and it's always funny to me when I think "oh that's so cute" and then you pick a different swatch or item. Here's a little challenge you haven't done in a while: no undo/mistakes challenge. You pick it, you use it! You could even limit yourself to the first swatch for more chaos.
I love it when you do these kinds of challenges. Maybe you can build apartments and each one is a different pack.
i personally really like the builds with lots of packs! i don’t have the sims at all because i don’t have a computer, so i love to watch your builds because i get to live vicariously through you lol

love the colour scheme on the exterior of this house!! almost doesnt seam like its mostly basegame bc its so nice!! 😍 idk if you read many comments but honestly appreciate the effort going into all ur builds lately, and trying to go outside ur comfort zone, it really shows bc theyve been really creative and different lately and more fun to watch. the green on the interior is giving 70s to me lol kinda inspires me to make a family in CAS to match

the personality of each room and the kind of decor really helped me imagine what kind of sims family could live on here! It's actually making me want to make these sims in cas, download the house and play in it lol 😭

if we’re being real: you cannot please everyone. it’s so awesome how you keep stuff like limiting packs in mind, especially cause you experienced not having the sims 3 packs, but don’t be too hard on yourself. since you post everyday we get a great variety of builds anyway. if you do all packs, some packs that are related, one pack, or base game, i’m watching 😎. as someone who went from only having some packs to all of them (the legality of which is complicated lmao) i appreciate you keeping your entire audience in mind. one idea that might be cool would be all the packs that have been free at different times. the base game was free and i think also: oasis kit, my first pet stuff, romantic garden and maybe another one. kind of a random combo but hypothetically you could have gotten all of them for free. regardless of how u decide to build vis a vis packs i will be tuned it. (ps thanks again for doing the palestine charity stream, what an amazing way to use your platform 🇵🇸)

The builds still work if you don't have all the packs. Sometimes you just have to add in a random missing item if you don't have the pack it came from. Nbd. 🤷🏽♀️
I loved the construction! I like Parenthood's somewhat unusual color combination, it's challenging to use when we're not used to it and it ends up looking really cool after all.
It would be really cool to see you build this same house in Sims 3, using just the base game + Generations...just a suggestion from a big fan of the third generation of the game😊✨

I need to see Stanley’s family, ADD HIS MOM AND SUCCESSFULL SISTER(my head canon is that Stanley grew up with a single mom and sister, they were poor. But now the sister is a beautiful business woman and he doesn’t have a good relationship with his mom, that is a hotdog too , the sister isn’t a hotdog )
I like it. I love that you always try to build things that appeal to the players, that you build things we can use. I have all the packs, it's the kits I don't have all of and I have a lot of those. I mostly get the one's that give me the most. Plus give me new furniture and stuff.

I know this is an old video but I just wanted to comment that I never feel sad or anything seeing these builds with a million packs... It just shows me which packs have the cutest items so I know which packs I wanna buy next!
I quite liked the set up you had in the kitchen-living space with the dark grey tiles and that beige stone wallpaper you used (but didn’t like) I also thought the grey paneling with the pale green wallpaper was adorable. The green and mahogany countertops are DARLING!!! 13:03 is the beige I liked for the kitchen and 14:02 was the paneling I liked. It made the living room look and feel warmer.
I have always thought transition strips or baseboards would be a game changer for the sims. It would be an additional tab under flooring and walls called “accents” where you could add it to the edges of a grid square or attached to the bottom/top of a wall. I say to the wall/floor category because it would be incredibly important that sims would walk over/on it for functionality like it was apart of the floor tile itself. It would make the rooms look more realistic, and you could even use move object cheats to make pseudo picture frames or wall designs for things like rags to riches.

You could make builds that use only the packs that were freebies at one point. And actually I feel like using the builds for a community lot helps. Obviously no $900 dressers, but I made a "luxury internet cafe" where I could place all the expensive desks and computers and stuff. Snack bar with a fridge microwave and teamagic. Bar etc.
I'm operating off of of just the 2023 freebies and I feel Like I really understand the strengths and weaknesses of Jungle adventure especially. It's amazing to me how much I don't end up using stuff from there so when I get to a build where there is a reason to (use the statues for example).

Idk if you will see this but I wanted to say that first of all the house looks amazing! You inspire all the time to push my limits with building in the sims bc you do it so effortlessly expertlike (don't know if that's a word but I hope you understand what I mean). Secondly, I just found out that the company that makes my favorite show that I've loved for years now (this show has gotten me through some hard times) is shutting down, but your videos really help through the grief. Thank you for being always positive and goofy! You're energy is very refreshing in times like this.
I wouldn't call it a bigger family home because it's too small for that but it is a great build and I have Parenthood so this is great! Also, you shouldn't be so hard on yourself when it comes to your builds. They all look amazing as they always do!

what if you polled the community to find out which packs most of us have to help you choose which ones to use when you want to limit them?
Major props to Kayla for always figuring out the roofing on these houses I’d prob have been in legit tears in 3 seconds with this one 😂
just so everyone knows, you can still download/place builds that contain packa you dont own. the game will naturally replace some items with similar objects, or just leave the space empty.
all you have to do is adjust things a bit, and every build on the gallery is yours. i adjust builds either way, so missing pack items seems like nbd to me.
I think you should do some builds with packs that have similar styles like what you did with Crystal Creations and Realm of Magic. So if people are looking for a good pack to buy, you can show them some packs that go well together.

The game has been out for almost 10 years now. There are more than enough base game builds up on gallery. So no need to feel guilty about using packs.
i’m on gen 1 of a new legacy challenge so it’s a bit out of the budget for now but it would be perfect in one or two gens time, definitely going to download! :)
Grey is neutral. It doesn’t have to "match" because anything can go with it. I think that’s why the Sims team put it with the green wall paper.
Well sort of. There are undertones in grey, and they can be cool toned (like a bluish slate grey) or warm toned (like a mushroom colour, almost greige) .😊

Tbh I adore the green/brown cabinet swatch lol. Also regarding the column thing, I was doing a build recently and I was SHOCKED to find out that there are absolutely zero pure brick columns, at least not in any of the packs I have, that feels like a pretty basic thing to have.

tbh as a simmer who doesn't have that many packs, the thing i'm most envious of when watching sims youtubers isn't pack content but the graphics quality of these high end gaming setups 😆

I would love it if you built base game houses for the not so berry challenge. The reasons are:
1. You are the creator of the challenge.
2. You are really good at building
3. I think many people play the not so berry challenge, and it's so hard to find good houses in the gallery if you don't have packs or have a few.

Agreed! I’m only a couple minutes in so idk if she ups the budget later but the starter homes are tiring. A 30-50k house would still be very reasonable

To be the bearer of bad news that green and brown is really popular from what I've found irl. And personally I love brown and green but I also love nature colors so when using them together you kinda have to commit to it and the woods when committing to a nature theme don't have to match as long as you keep them relatively the same shade. But that's IRL I know in game some things looks strange but I always use that swatch of the counters and cabinets it my fave. 😅😅

who you ask, would use those counters? the 70s, lol, my parents had cabinets like that and they loved it...until the 80s lol.
green-brown, picture sage and forest, etc. various greens are often found together. You don't need to "match" them if you look for natural mixes. :)
