Dillon, I just can’t stop watching you! You are so darn funny, you keep me giggling the whole video. I love your dry sense of humor, and the way you act like you don’t know what you’re doing but everything comes out great! Also, you are very natural, just being yourself. I love that. All the best!!!
This is the best banana nut bread recipe! I actually have some baking in the oven right now. I've made it twice since watching your video a few weeks ago. Thanks so much for sharing!
@wellyourworld @dillon the result of half buckwheat flour and half oat flour was a success! A nice firm bread but not dry at all and not mushy! I may try using all buckwheat flour at some point.
I’m so glad I discovered you recently on Facebook. I’ve been catching up on all your videos. You’re hilarious. So fun to watch and great information/recipes. Thank you!
Thanks for your post and your humor when dealing with your followers. (an idea my mom showed me decades ago, place a damp kitchen cloth under your cutting board and it won’t slide on you when you’re chopping 👍😊💙)
Hi Dillon and Reebs, I saw your band bread video yesterday and right away made this bread, it has come out to be so so so tasty, I shared with my sisters and nieces. My husband loved it. Thanku thanku thanku
I don't add sodium in the form of baking soda. I let the sourdough rise high and then bake it. I don't use baking powder either. And this is still the best recipe I have seen on the Internet for a vegan banana bread. It is almost like mine, but I use tiger nut flour and any seeds I have like sesame, poppy and sunflower seeds. I also use different dried fruits, like apricot and prunes.
This is great. I think I'm gonna try this with two-thirds organic whole wheat flour and one-third oat flour -- and bananas which are much more ripe and very mooshy. I was always taught to make banana bread with bananas that were nearly black (and then you can use less dates too).
New vegan as of Thanksgiving Day 2019. I've followed you and made your recipes. I didn't have a baking dish for this recipe, so I used a muffin tin and cut the bake time to 1/2hour. They came out unbelievably wonderful! Outstanding results, sir! Thank you!
Oat flour is mushier but I don't mind it. I'm gonna try almond flour and eat it slowly, like one piece a day. Lol! Thanks for getting back to me so quickly!
Thank you--I'm new to this life and really appreciate what you're doing! Made this yesterday according to your recipe and it has been a hit! The only changes I'll be making next time are to increase the cinnamon (as you suggested one might want to do) to 3/4 teaspoon or so -and- to toast the walnut pieces, + rotate the pan at about the 1/2-way point. I used sprouted wheat flour, but wondering if it might even be better w whole wheat pastry flour or just plain old whole wheat? (Probably no way to mess it up!)
Thanks for this recipe. I am a banana bread snob! My vegan bread recipe calls for half cup sugar and half cup oil. I will be making yours as soon as I get the dates. :)
Hi! Can i replace the flaxmeal with apple sauce? I am nut free for the past servel month, but just a last week understood flax seeds are nuts. Please make more wonderful recpies!
Yes, start with a quarter cup of applesauce and see how you like that. Might need more but hard to guess correctly right from the start. Watch my "oat clusters" video, I talk about applesauce in that one as well.
You made me laugh so hard with your Pico!!! 🌞 You are the funniest person I know on RUclips! Thank you for the laugh! You are such a blessing. 🌞 God bless you! 🎉
Hey there. Love your channel. You've got a great funny personality. Keep the videos keep coming. Ive been plant based for about 6 months and you have really helped my voyage
Feels good to be watching this banana bread video, keep going on with the positive, great humor attitude mentality, will continue to view till the end...
Clicked the like button before I even saw the video. You and Nick are so cool, always fun to watch! Am going to make banana bread tomorrow. Love from Germany!
Today I made your delish, cheese sauce and tonite this banana bread. Another 2 thumbs up. My other banana bread(vegan) was mushy, tasted more like banana cake. I like this much better. Thanks for making my journey into a healthy lifestyle much easier!
I know this is not a recent post but I have to tell you this is the only banana bread I have now, I absolutely love it, i play with different flour spelt or whole wheat but I always put 1/4 of either corn or kamut flour. YUMMY
Sorry for all the questions lately. Where did you get that mombo bowl? I’d love it for mixing just about anything! I also like that there’s no lip on it.
Just finished the January (2019) challenge! Now it’s time to make your version of banana bread! ❤️. My family loves a particular banana bread recipe, and they hate when I change it, so I am going to call this date nut bread. Shhhh, they needn’t know... lol
Right on man your using Montana Wheat. I visit Three Forks, Montana to get my flour. Nice job dude your making some good food. Thank you from South Dakota .
Hi Dillon, I enjoy your videos so much. I want to know if you could make this with almond flour as I am allergic to wheat and if so what are the variations?
Thank you!! I have done it with oat flour and it was a bit mushier, which isn't so bad but different. I think almond flour might work, except that since it based off nuts that is going to give you a lot more calories, and I try to keep the calorie density low, since any type of flour is inherently higher in calorie density. Hope this helps.
Is your almond milk thick enough to be a coffee creamer? Do you use any thickeners like tapioca flour or kappa carrageenan? Watching you do the milk by hand made me think of this...sadly, I’m still on coffee...organic and no sugar and plant creamer, it store bought. I’m very glad I found your channel. Anna bread and oat cookies are now mandatory for this lady. I’m thinking of adding Apple sauce or mayhap a smidgeon or molasses but we shall see.
Homemade almond milk can be pretty thick. I’m not sure if I’d call it a creamer or not though. I don’t use any thickeners but I also don’t really make the homemade milk all too often. Thanks for asking!
BB recipe: I added 3 heaping T of peanut butter, raisins, vanilla and walnut pieces on top. Much better. Not as dry and a little sweeter with the raisins. Choc chips instead of raisins if you are daring.
Dillon, your videos are my favorite! I hate most people, especially their irritating voice/personality, but I am grateful for your sass and deadpan humor! Can't wait for the cookbook!!
Hi Dillon....love your banana bread recipe. Made it several times over the holidays for gifts. Question? Would like to add whole cranberries. Would that work? Sometimes when I try cranberry breads, it comes out mushy. Going to try adding cranberries. Thank you sooo much!!!
Looks delicious! OMG 😂when out of nowhere....BAM💣....tomatoes and pico ingredients on the counter😂😂😂. Thank you for the laughs and please keep the videos coming.
I noticed that your bananas weren't completely ripe. The traditional SAD banana bread I grew up making was made with very ripe bananas. I'm wondering if it makes a difference.
Good question, I have never really made it with like, super super brown bananas, but I have made it with bananas that were more brown than these, and it always seems to come out tasting the same!
You’ve inspired me to go WFPB-SOS free, Dillion. Just started on this lifestyle. Wish me luck! Thank you for all the work and energy you put into creating this content. You’re very much appreciated. Update: this is a way of eating has helped me a lot with clearing up my acne and acne scars. However, I feel extremely exhausted. Not sure if that is just lasts for a few days. I am enjoying this way of eating food and has helped me eat a lot more veggies and fruits that I haven’t eaten before. Thanks, Dillion. P.S.- I love those “hmmm” of yours. 😅
Mrs Plant It would work but try to keep away from the blender as much as possible. It's pre-digesting the food in a way. It fools your satiety mechanisms.
I think that is a great idea! I think I might try that, because my kids would be more likely to eat it without chucks of dates and sweet all the way through!
I agree with another poster that said the mic was so loud we could hear you swallow!😂 Maybe place it a little lower on your shirt. I’m making the bread but doing it in muffins. Easier to eat and portion control for me.
+Liz Oliveira I think it would add some fat. I had tried it with garbanzo bean flour aka chickpea flour but it didn't go well. I'll keep at it. 😊 thank you for watching
I literally laughed out loud when i saw the counter filled with tomatoes!! hahaha The banana bread looks awesome but alas I am in the 30 day challenge and also I think I would eat the whole loaf so I will have to wait till I lose my weight before attempting to make this. But make it I will one day...
Dillon, I just can’t stop watching you! You are so darn funny, you keep me giggling the whole video. This is the best banana nut bread recipe! I actually have some baking in the oven right now. I've made it twice since watching your video a few weeks ago. Thanks so much for sharing!
I'm trying half buckwheat flour and half oat flour. Will let you know how it comes out! I added some ACV to help it rise.
@wellyourworld @dillon the result of half buckwheat flour and half oat flour was a success! A nice firm bread but not dry at all and not mushy! I may try using all buckwheat flour at some point.
Oh thank you! I will try this!
I just made this and forgot the flax. It turned out great. So simple and has no iffy ingredients.
A key to those reading....don't over-mix the dry to wet ingredients. Not over-mixing will make the bread light & fluffy.
+Smudgemom2003 thanks for the tip! 🙂
Laughed so hard when you said you couldn't do a video w/o something to do with Pico!! Thumbs way up!!
Ha ha thank you!
I’m so glad I discovered you recently on Facebook. I’ve been catching up on all your videos. You’re hilarious. So fun to watch and great information/recipes. Thank you!

That's wonderful! Glad you all enjoyed the recipe
Hi Dillon......adding cranberries to your banana bread worked well. Sooooo good! Thanks!
Oh nice! Thank you
been vegan 6 years when sos free January down another 22 lbs. This is the best vegan banana bread I have made yet thanks so much for the recipe!!!!
Oh wow that is great congratulations!!
The BEST!! Yum 😋 Thanks Dillon!
That bread looked amazing!!! I have some very over ripe organic bananas downstairs that need used today. This will be perfect!!!
Hope you enjoy!

Hope you find a good method, thank you!
I have just made this! I had frozen bananas which I defrosted and it taste lush! Thank you x
Oh nice.
Hi Dylon, do you ever use yeast for any bread ? pl let me know, thank
The best and healthiest sweet nut bread ever. Easy recipe and yum delicious. Thank you, Dillon. You are the best. Love from Florida.
Thank you--I'm new to this life and really appreciate what you're doing! Made this yesterday according to your recipe and it has been a hit! Thank you! Yes it is pretty good with whole wheat flour, but we have done it with a couple others and the results were decent too.
Super happy with the way this turned out!
Sweet thank you
Love your recipe and 'dry' humour. Keep them coming.
Where was this video yesterday when I was searching for an SOS free vegan banana bread recipe?? Subscribed now so I wont miss anything else.
I just made this. Its great. Its similar to the McDougal recipe but easier! The kids eat it too.
Hi Glenn! Thank you, I'm glad you liked it!
How would the ingredients change if you used oat flour instead? Perhaps a video?? Love what you're doing!
I’ve done it many times with oat flour. It comes out mushier but it’s still pretty good. Give it a shot and tell me what you think.
@@WellYourWorld So maybe the almond milk mash would be good to add to the oat flour??!!!
Thanks for this recipe. I am a banana bread snob! My vegan bread recipe calls for half cup sugar and half cup oil. I will be making yours as soon as I get the dates. :)
Hope you like it!
Really Loved It!!!! My new banana bread fave. :)
Use honey or maple syrup instead of sugar
Honey and maple syrup count as added sugar. Also honey is not vegan.
I'm dying of laughter here with the cut to the scene where you're making pico!!! 😂😂😂 I laughed so hard, my cat jumped of the couch and hid!
Haha I forgot about that part
I loved every part of this video ! ( I love even more the fact that you succumbed to the pressure! ) LOL ! We got ya now !
+Lisa Schoeneberger ugh it's so true. 😔😳
LOL ! YAY !! 💗💗
Hi! Can i replace the flaxmeal with apple sauce? I am nut free for the past servel month, but just a last week understood flax seeds are nuts. Please make more wonderful recpies!

🥰😊
I love your pico so much, it's honestly the best part of summer.
This is so good! I added a bit of nutmeg that was just the jam!
I’m going to try this with Buckwheat flour. We’ll see how it goes.
Looks good.
Nice, thank you!
Hey there. Love your channel. You've got a great funny personality. Keep the videos keep coming. Ive been plant based for about 6 months and you have really helped my voyage

How long did you bake it? I’d like to try and make it but I’m not sure how long it should stay in the oven. Thanks for your help.
I really enjoyed your take on making banana bread. Also, you are very funny without trying. Great video...
Thank you!! I appreciate it
What about brown rice flower? Just a thought.
Dates are not dried fruit, they may look like raisins (dried grapes) but dates are sold fresh.
O my word I need this in my life🤣🤣 I’ve lost 16lbs eating wfpb so I think I deserve it 😊love watching Dillon taste test 🤣
Can you show us how you do your oil-free hummus?
+L. Johan Nissen Ya I should make a hummus video sometime. Good request!
Please don't listen to bad or negative comments please you are helping us learn to live healthy
I’m gunna try buckwheat flour 🤷♀️
Sorry for all the questions lately. Where did you get that mombo bowl? I’d love it for mixing just about anything! I also like that there’s no lip on it.

made the Pico today and this banana bread looks bomb (as they say)!

Awesome! Thank you! Is there a cornbread recipe?

How about almond flour(ground almonds) for gluten free version? Possibly too dense? Worth a try maybe
+Liz Oliveira I think it would add some fat. I had tried it with garbanzo bean flour aka chickpea flour but it didn't go well. I'll keep at it. 😊 thank you for watching
Ohhhhh right.. Sorry lol. Didnt realize we wanted it to be totally fat free
Liz Oliveira it doesn't have to be totally fat free. I did add some walnuts 😋
