I've made this bread countless times over the past few years and it's always a hit. I've adapted it a little to reduce the fat, using only 1 Tbs nut butter + 1 Tbs PB2 (it needs at least a little bit of fat to come together) & I keep 1/2 of the oats intact and pulverize the rest. Today, I used date sugar instead of coconut sugar and it was just as delicious. I always feel fancy with the caramelized sliced banana on top. 😉Your recipes always deliver, Caitlin and I so appreciate this wholesome recipe. 💕
omg I need to let everyone know that this banana bread has been a STAPLE for me these past few months now. Its actually crazy how good it is and my whole non vegan family gets so excited when I make it. Highly recommend!!
Loved this more cooking channel type video, and as a long time home cook, I love learning the science/ the how and why of cooking and baking, like why you should let the bread cool, etc. Was nerding out on those insights. Thanks for sharing the baking love!! I would love a basic knife skills class if that is something you are interested in making in the future!! Thank you Chef Caitlin!
I made this and it is delicious! Even my vegan-skeptical family loved it! I made them into muffins, some blueberry and walnut, and baked for 30-35 minutes, came out perfect!
bc im too cheap for coconut sugar, i swap it out for maple syrup and it works like a charm every. single. time. also adding chocolate chips to my most recent batch was a life-changing decision!
Love the way you recorded this.. very authentic and realistic, just how we are 🤩🤩 Going to try your recipe, been making a GF version with oil and eggs and trying to go more plant based. Thank you!!
Caitlin, you honestly should have your own TV show :)!! You are so informative and entertaining! I also really like the format of this video, keep up the great work!
This is PERFECT! I was just craving some banana bread today, but couldn’t find a good gluten free recipe for it. Thanks so much for sharing this-can’t wait to try it!! 💖
Thank you for your recipe! Made it with peanut butter (too strong a taste), and almond butter (nice, a bit on expensive side) and decided to try with sesame paste (not tahini). The sesame paste from an Asian store is much cheaper and comes very thick; It needs to be thinned by slowly stirring bit of water into it until it flows more. I used 1/4C thinned sesame paste and added 1/8 Cup of apple sauce. The cake came out softer than the original version. Nice.
I have made this recipe a few times and didn't understand why it was so flat, but I don't think I was blending my oats enough for it to be flour. Thank you! Now I wanna try and make it!
I've started making this any time I have grossly brown bananas. I make it at night and feed it to my kids for breakfast. Such a time saver in the mornings
Hey Caitlin, thanks for the recipe! I've just baked it (but in a 12-cup muffin pan, baked for about 40 min) and I looooooove the taste and texture! My bananas were not ready but my muffins still taste very delicious. Thanks again!
It is so nice to have someone who eats the way I eat, and knows how to make so simple, though tasty, recipes. Everyone always behaves as though it is impossible to eat tasty food that is vegan, gluten free and oil free. Your recipes are the proof that it is not right!!! Thank you! I wanted to ask how many ml do you have in your measuring cup? And another question, if I have a really ripe bananas, can I drop off the sugar? Or should I put something else instead? Because it has its volume... Thanks a lot, you are a great inspiration ❤️
LOVVVEEEDDD this style video!!!!!! Made it SO much easier to follow and watch!!! Also way more inclined to try it out because it looks more doable being able to see you do it haha idk that probbs doesnt make much sense. But LOVE your videos girl. I'm not vegan but you've inspired me to cook so much more this year and use more natural, plant based ingredients in my diet.
Excellent recipe ,I made it with almond flour .I also replaced the sugar with pure erythritol not to rise blood sugars levels . The combination of ingredients are well though .Highly recommend .
I made the banana bread and you are right. The hardest part was waiting for it to completely cool. Did not quite make complete cool but it was fine warm. So healthy and tasty, my 2 Dobies and myself thoroughly enjoyed it. Considered sharing with other household peeps. Maybe. Hmmm...
That banana bread looks beautiful! I absolutely LOVE the fact that you don't use oil in your cooking/baking. Thank you so much for all your great recipes!
I like this style of video! I’ve been waiting for more of these since you have such a pretty kitchen these days ☺️ I’ve also made this banana bread before, and it’s delicious... I like that you brought up an old recipe, too. There are so many good ones that could easily get lost over time. This is definitely one of my faves.
Chia absorbs a little more water and doesn't have the slight nutty taste of flax. So 1tbsp ground chia&3tbsps water is generally a 1:1 replacement for a flax egg. I prefer it, simply because Chia is easier to find here.
I’ve tried both and had way more success with flax eggs. In any recipe I make, if I sub flax eggs it usually turns out perfect. With chia eggs, not so much. I know it’s an extra ingredient to buy, but flax is worth it!
I loved this style of video! It really gave your personality time to shine through. 🌞 I also loved learning about the science of each step and why it's important. You seem very knowledgable about cooking and baking, which can't be said about all food bloggers. Can't wait to see more videos like this!
Hey! One question for you. In her recipe in this video, she used baking soda, but it is not mentioned on the written recipe on her blog. I want to make this bread but have no idea how much baking soda she used. Do you have any idea how much to use? I am asking you, because you already made it a few times, as you said :)
@@katja633 Actually I just made it according to the recipe on her blog, and I did notice a few changes from how she did it in this video. Maybe she plans on updating the recipe? I just used baking powder when I made it, and I used almond butter like I believe the recipe calls for. It was delicious but I'd also love to try this new version if she is able to update her blog with the changes 😊
Hi Caitlin, just what I was looking for an easy gluten-free vegan Banana Bread which I made today and Yummy! so Yummy! I just finished a slice of it :), Thankyou for the recipe :) I will be making this again and again as Banana Bread is a family fav :)
I LOVE this video style so much! It feels warmer and closer☺️ I also need more easy recipes and vegan hacks, waiting for the new video from this series. Thank you so much!❤️
I love that recipe from your blog. And love seeing you doing it on a video! :) I tried probably about 15 different recipes for banana bread, because it is my basic snack/dessert and this one is one of my favourite! 😍
Banana bread was like the first thing I made when I went vegan too😂 I hadn’t had banana bread in years, but I loved it so I needed to make sure I could make it vegan
After living a life of gluten free vegan baking failures I decided to give it another try and made this banana bread. THANK YOU SO MUCH! It is wonderful!! I eat little to no sugar and it is more than sweet enough for me. One question, can I freeze it? I would like to keep 1/2 in the fridge and freeze the rest.
Love this style of filming! I think if you could do maybe a generic fluffy muffin recipe would be amazing! The cafe I work at makes freshly baked regular muffins and the always smell so good! Especially the blueberry ones 🤤
Little freaky, lol - I literally said to my wife the other day that I wanted to make banana bread but I didn't have a vegan recipe :) Ayyy, thanks Caitlin, nice timing!
Just found you and very happy. Recently taking my health and diet more seriously so your channel is a blessing...thank you so much! ( plus, your crazy cute! ) 😍
Love this style of video! Your recipes are my favorites to bring to potlucks to show how delicious vegan food is! I recently made your almond butter brownies & cranberry-orange bread, and they went like hotcakes! Excited to try this recipe out :)
I would love to see you make a video with a few different versions of "fancy" PB&J! With different nut butters, different kinds of bread loaves like banana bread, blueberry bread, chocolate chip bread, etc. That would be sooo entertaining and delicious 😍
It came our moist, didn’t rise enough. Delicious. I’ll keep the recipe. The extra banana on top left moisture areas, not a good idea, the banana didn’t cook, became a slurpy on top.
I've made this bread countless times over the past few years and it's always a hit. So my granddaughter and I tries your recipe today. It was a success and she truly enjoyed baking together. Thank you

Love this! My non vegan husband will love this. I made him vegan cornbread and he said it was the best he ever had! ( Not telling him it's vegan!)
I'm spoiled rotten now. No more voice-over recipes. This style suits your personality perfectly ... can't wait for more!
I just want to say that i make this bread EVERY week for my girlfriend and I for breakfast. It’s perfect. Thanks Caitlin!!
the best way to start 2019? With a new Caitlin video and a delicious recipe 😍
This new format is the BOMB!!! Could you make a video about basic marinades/seasonings/salad dressings?
bc im too cheap for coconut sugar, i swap it out for maple syrup and it works like a charm every. single. time. also adding chocolate chips to my most recent batch was a life-changing decision!

Okay! This is the BEST banana bread recipe! I have tried many different ones, and this is the best. Thank you!
Just finished my first ever loaf and I wanna say THANK YOU. This was stellar! Although I used whole wheat flour instead and it came out amazing.
Bismillaah. Wow alhamdulillaah this is one of the easiest and simplest recipe of banana bread there is!!!! Thanks for this easy recipe caitlin!
This is PERFECT! I was just craving some banana bread today, but couldn’t find a good gluten free recipe for it. Thanks so much for sharing this-can’t wait to try it!! 💖

one cup equals about 240ml :)
A cup of dates with half a cup of hot water blended is the same as sugar. The bread still baked the same.
@@Sassysonia1234 oh, thanks!!!

Yes this style is awesome!
A basic bread recipe pls (not flatbread) 😘

Is there a difference in "eggy"-quality or anything else between flax or chia eggs? Also, I like this easy, direct style of video a lot!
I'd like to know that too, since I have lots of chia seeds but not flax!
Chia absorbs a little more water and doesn't have the slight nutty taste of flax.
So 1tbsp ground chia&3tbsps water is generally a 1:1 replacement for a flax egg. I prefer it, simply because Chia is easier to find here.
You can also use plain unsweetened applesauce which I have substituted for egg in banana bread before comes out delicious and moist
Chia seeds create a gel when mixed with water. A consistency like egg whites.
I’ve tried both and had way more success with flax eggs. In any recipe I make, if I sub flax eggs it usually turns out perfect. With chia eggs, not so much. I know it’s an extra ingredient to buy, but flax is worth it!

Katja Krasovec pretty sure it’s baking powder I think she got them confused lol
Omg! I used your recipe last night and it was amazing! Not too sweet and perfectly fluffy! Thank you for sharing this recipe!
I agree, I prefer this type of video as opposed to overhead. Well done. Keep up the good work.
I just took the Banana loaf out of my toaster oven. It cooked in 50 minutes. It smells yummy!!
Thank you! 👍
I love the cooking channel vibe of this video and I can’t wait to make the bread! Happy New Year Caitlin, I’m looking forward to seeing more recipes💖
I like this casual style of video too. You can really get into the tips and tricks for each step. Perfect for newbies in the kitchen like me. Thanks!

Loved the format of this video!!
This looks delicious! I definitely will be making this!
definitely adding some walnuts to that delicious looking loaf!!😍😍
You are seriously good at this. Totally making the bread!
Great video! Trying this recipe tonight. What are the measurements you’re using for the baking soda, powder and salt?
How much baking time will it take if i want to do this recipe in muffin tins?
Banana bread was like the first thing I made when I went vegan too😂 I hadn’t had banana bread in years, but I loved it so I needed to make sure I could make it vegan
I JUST MADE THIS AND IM JUST WAITING FOR IT TO COOL AND IM SO EXCITED

I’ve been looking for a date free, moist banana bread recipe. Thank you for this Caitlin! Also, def loved the style of this video.
Okay making this ASAP
Its nice not too much oil and sugar. You replaced them with different ingredients. I loove it! :) I will try it. :)
This looks so good! I know since I've been vegan, when I have made banana bread it turns out too doughy for some reason, but this looks great!
Caitlin this is amazing! great recipe and you have so much knowledge.
YOU ARE SERIOUSLY THE BEST! Thank You for being real:)
Great video! You are so good I would love to see a video on how you store your fruit and vegetables to keep them freshest longer. Thanks.
Love this style of filming!
I think if you could do maybe a generic fluffy muffin recipe would be amazing! The cafe I work at makes freshly baked regular muffins and the always smell so good! Especially the blueberry ones 🤤

thanks for the tips!! i've definitely been doing banana bread wrong... can't wait to try it now!
can you do a crispy baked tofu recipe for this series? i never get that right!
Mines in the oven now. Cant wait to try it.
I really like this style too. You're teaching us so much. You totally need your own restaurant too
Finally an easy recipe without 1/4 cup of oil and 3/4 cup of refined sugars
Edit: refined sugars with LESS nutrients
You realize that the 1/2 cup of coconut sugar is also refined?
Very true I meant like white sugar with less nutrients!
Coconut sugar actually has fibre, micronutrients and is low glycemic
Use dates instead.
You can use a cup of dates with half a cup of HOT water in the food processor as sugar. I did this and the bread still baked the same.
Love this style of video! Your recipes are my favorites to bring to potlucks to show how delicious vegan food is! I recently made your almond butter brownies & cranberry-orange bread, and they went like hotcakes! Excited to try this recipe out :)
That banana bread was amazing !!
Love your energy and recipes girl 👍🌞

this banana bread tastes so good, thank you
Cailyn, you rock! Can’t wait to try this recipe! Love your video! New subbie!
Could I use an egg replacer for the flax egg? Also any thoughts on gluten free flour blends for this recipe?
I would love to see you make a video with a few different versions of "fancy" PB&J! With different nut butters, different kinds of bread loaves like banana bread, blueberry bread, chocolate chip bread, etc. That would be sooo entertaining and delicious 😍
The style is great!
Ohhh I want to eat that now! Looks amazing!
Love you and LOVE your recipes, this came out awesome!

Vegan lasagna!!! I need to learn how to make some.

I would have loved to find your video before my attempt to do a vegan banana bread, this recipe is 🔥🔥 thank you!!!
It came our moist, didn’t rise enough. Delicious. I’ll keep the recipe. The extra banana on top left moisture areas, not a good idea, the banana didn’t cook, became a slurpy on top.
Recently turned vegan and I’ve been looking for a easy recipe to make for my family and this saved me!! Thank you❤️❤️
This looks really good I will be trying
