    I have a 98 model which has a kick start as well, I do hard enduro with mine against the newer model bikes and it holds it's own no problem, this bike is very versatile and if it can't do something it's not the problem, you are.

    I think the ttr250 and drz250 are slept on. I love the air cooled 4 strokes as play bikes

      Got a 24 year old xr. Im the third owner. Second had it in grage for its hole life. Still has yellow paint on torqued bolts. Bike is old but brand new. I love that bike

      Yep, they're more practical than any modern Enduro/race bike for trail riding here in the MN woods, IMO. Don't need more than 30 HP.

      Absolutely. Both bikes are DOHC motors and DRZ250 electric and kick start and they're both better than a honda FR250 that had endless amount of top end problems RFVC single cam with rockers. Bad design on hondas behalf.

    Good review man. Australian models have elec and kick start. I have a 99 mod and a 2003 model both have the kick start option. Interesting that the USA version does not.

      Oh, nice. Yeah I see they just plugged the kickstart hole on our models. Thanks for watching!

    i LOVED my TTR250 when i had it 😁👌 had a 20 ltr tank on it and i used it as a ADV bike 🙃 would sit on 110ks ok but would suffer a little on big hills 🤣 also did single track and all that kind of stuff and it was a weapon off road 😁👍
    here in Australia the bike came road approved so easy to register .
    there is some videos on my channel of the TTR doing TTR stuff 🤣😂

    I just picked up a 01 earlier this year and I am loving it. A huge upgrade from my tw200. I’m a larger rider and I’m having some trouble finding stiffer springs for the front and rear. Any suggestions on where to look?

    • @MotocrossHideout
      @MotocrossHideout  Месяц назад +1

      Nice - I'm not surprised that if feels like an upgrade, especially if you're riding single-track trails!
      Good question. It looks like Cannon Racecraft makes springs, although it might require a special order. www.cannonracecraft.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/03/cannon-racecraft-application-chart.pdf

    i had a ttr 90 when i was a kid and loved it, last time i was on a bike was over 20 years ago and i'm looking to get one again but not something too crazy, i think going back with a ttr or similar would be a good and wise choice. does yamaha makes something similar nowadays ?

      The TTR's are great bikes!
      The TTR230 is the closest thing to this TTR250. The 230 hasn't changed since 2005 when it first came out :)

    How does this compare to a crf 250f

    • @mxbeanz1206
      @mxbeanz1206 2 месяца назад +2

      I think the ttr250 is better. They don't make a 250 anymore, they make the 230 now. I have a 24 crf 250f and I love it. But the ttr250 has better suspension and probably a faster engine. I will say the fuel injection on the honda makes ridibility really good

    • @aidancampbell2656

      @@mxbeanz1206 the adjustable suspension and dual overhead cam seem really appealing, I also have a 250f and love it, the ttr 250 seems like another great bike

      They're pretty similar as far as power and handling with slightly more top end HP to the TTR. The ergonomics are different in that the TTR feels like you're sitting "in" the bike while the CRF you're sitting more "on" the bike.
      I prefer EFI, and the CRF feels slightly lighter but not much.
      The TTR suspension is definitely plusher.
      If you already have the CRF, I'd consider sending the suspension to Bruce Triplett. The forks are affordable, but the shock is a little more expensive to upgrade.
      The CRF has more aftermarket and replacement parts availability.

      @@MotocrossHideout I definitely will be doing the Bruce’s suspension within the next year, I really enjoy the bike in stock form, I weigh 150lbs so it’s not awful but can be improved

    • @MotocrossHideout
      @MotocrossHideout  2 месяца назад +2

      Gotcha. I weigh just under 145 and find the stock suspension good, just a little harsh.
      Bruce did the forks on my CRF230F before I did the CR85 fork swap and they were surprisingly good for just over $100!
      Also check out Hyperlite Moto for CRF250F aftermarket parts ;)
