If the bike is put away for a while and stored properly then it should run good when getting it ready to ride. It just depends on how well it was taken care of when stored for long period of time and I guess the value of the bike after a few years or more so maybe you did pay more but if not to bad to get it going again then should be okay to keep or hopefully sell and get your money back

Bikes have gone up in value, I used to buy bikes like that for 350 to 500 quid in England back in day but most off them were stolen and recovered no numbers on frame etc, I bought a gas gas it kept on cutting out it had a air lock in the cap on the petrol cap I bought it from a shop and it had a rubber thing in the cap for some reason an it stopped it breathing it puzzled me for a bit

Great score and a simple solution.
I am always ready for your videos
You sure were blazin' a trail through the woods there Bud! I hope you have a skid plate for that engine! LoL Great vid!
You are absolutely right premium gas is the trick to leaving ATV's, motorcycles, and anything that uses gas sit for a while. I put nothing but premium in my quads, motorcycles, and other equipment, & sports car, never had a fuel issue when using premium.
Octane level has nothing to do with long term storage. It's ethanol. Always use ethanol free gas
Same here I use high octane premium fuel in all my bikes I take no chances
You're getting some really nice bikes lately. Good work.
I don't know if its the camera making it look that way , but it looks like the rear fender is bent upwards
Joe your a awesome mechanic, you can make a good living working on them for people
i always watch your videos i love it when you gonna repair a snowmobile 😎
snowmobiles suck lol
That field would be perfect for snowmobile jumps in the winter!
I knew you’d get it going , what do you do with all the bikes you work on ? Do you sell em
yep he sell em
😂 all these episodes and I thought you were saying 'rental bars' 🤔 😂
Nice bike joe and great fix some difference in the property now mate take care 🔧🔧🔧👍👌
Dude you could build your own pit bike tracks, flat track oval for driving flat track motorcycles. What a beast piece of land.
What size is the battery and where is the link for the battery cover??
Man love the channel I want to get into this my self any recommendations for starting out?
I had a 2000 TTR250. Bike was unkillable if you didn't thrash it and showed it regular maintenance love. Rode it for 15 trouble free years before selling it on. Always started, always got me home. Video brought back memories. Thanks.
Hi Buddy . I don't know if it's the same in America , but here, a black tipped needle is for leaded petrol (gas) . The needles for unleaded are red tipped . I found out the hard way with my Vespa . Carb full of black needle dust .
That bike was manufactured decades after leaded gas stopped being used I doubt any parts on it were made for leaded gas lol
@@fiftyracer192 except the incorrect needle.
They are still black 'n the us as of mabee5 yrs since I last looked.
@@steveiwamoto6772 Can you remember if they were a different colour when the petrol was leaded ? I noticed on todays project , a Polaris 4 wheeler ,that the needle tip was worn way down , making the carb flood . Every day's a school day for me . Hahahaha.
@@chasleask8533 as far as I can remember always black I've only seen red on few occasions .I Was never aware of that as a color indicator or different material I appreciate
the Education thank you.
You are one sharp young man. Thanks for the videos.
what would you recommend doing to start flipping bikes like crf100’s and such i dont want to sell my 450 but i want other bikes to flip
i have one , mines a 06 , its been GREAT most reliable bike ever
Could they have put premix in there and that gunk is the oil. Great trail bike, I had one
Man the carb on this bike looks like a pain to take out.
It is. But once you get the hang of it it’s not horrible.
Will you let them plant the field next year?
i got a 1989 klr 250 for $350. was hoping for smaller issues, but the engine has way low compression. + the kickstarter is slipping. gotta adleast rebuild the top end, but i might have to tear it all the way down for a complete rebuild. i would be more excited over that if i hade more room to work.
hermosa moto saludos desde argentina y muy buenos y educativos tus videos 😁😁😁
Good job figuring that out!!
How much do you think is a good price for one of these. Have one the exact same year and runs great. Looking to sell it
Check your rectifier, should be charging at around 13 to 14 volts.
Zeus fasteners are awesome for airbox covers.
How did the guy before you put the wrong needle in? And how did he break the float stand? Weird, real weird! But a hell of a job figuring it out
If the bike is put away for a while and stored properly then it should run good when getting it ready to ride. It just depends on how well it was taken care of when stored for long period of time and I guess the value of the bike after a few years or more so maybe you did pay more but if not to bad to get it going again then should be okay to keep or hopefully sell and get your money back
Really good video,,, thanks 👍
You should invest in a case of carb cleaner grab one always start at gas tank go from there carb cleaner
Joe you should get yourself a vapour blaster ...be nice to see.
Ok
Use Talcompowder on rubbers to shrink them back to original shape 🤔
Another Nice fix! 👏👏👏
Hey Joe do you have any bikes for sale I'm looking for something maybe a 250 2-stroke or maybe even a nice trail bike four-stroke I just want to get in the woods again
How would you compare it to an Xr250r? Do you keep all these machines or sell them after the vids? Great vid btw!
One guy posted your answer on here ha says the xr is lighter and faster with better suspension
I have the exact bike u have paid 1100 for it and it runs great we just had to rebuild peacock cys it have a leak
You appear to be a damn good mechanic. You should think about working as a Team Mechanic for one of the dirtbike companies, particularly in their race pits. How many acres is that field you're riding on? Is that your property? If you don't mind my asking, where do you live. Just statewise.
They will usually come back and turn the field unless they wont be using your property again, nice job also
I have a ttr 250 and can not get it running after doing the top end, but feel as though its a timing issue. any chance you messed with the timing on yours? i need help and cant find any.
Nice bike I love 250s I've had them all at 60 I am as happy as can be on my xr250r but I would love a yamaha.
Xr owner here look at my channel
Currently have a ttr250 and it's a great bike, I love it
Since they plant around that big rock in the middle of the field pack dirt around it and turn it into a little permanent kicker to hit!
Where do you get those oil feeder bottles??
First time ive never seen you check or drop the oil....
Why try starting with no gas?
Honda xr owner here we know the car are lighter and quicker but damn e start 😍and these and them car are bomb proof I got my 3 bikes on on my channel
Ho Lee Joe you did it again , a good bike. I just hope you get started on the land and trails . Might be time to rent a skid steer and make that dream happen out there.
Yep looking for a skid steer now
@@2vintage joe don’t rent, he buys whatever’s needed and keeps it for fun. Hope to be there one day
@@2vintage So you check a few things then see that the petcock is absolutely the issue and then you disassemble the carb????? Then you start it dead cold and rev it redline without oil and filter change after sitting for years???????? Funny video.
