      datDANK You are not taking into consideration Conor's personality type (ENTJ). Conor's drive will be the same as it ever was; through the roof. ENTJs are the highest earners of all personality types (10% above the second highest) mainly because of their insane drive to succeed and be top dog. It might seem like it is all about the money for Conor, but he wants the glory just as much.

    Aldo’s background was a double edged sword. Yes, he came from nothing. But the one thing of value in that world is a man’s pride. McGregor did what Bernard Hopkins did to Trinidad: he put the pride of a nation on his shoulders. How many people went up to Aldo to tell him, “you’re going to KILL that guy for Brazil.” The pain we saw from Aldo after the fight was the feeling of having let down an entire country against the man who insulted them.

    Um... Mcgregor did not start lowkicking in the third round against Diaz, he started doing it in the first. It was literally one of the first strikes he threw and he kept throwing it for the entirety of the first two rounds. Hell, one of the knockdowns came as Diaz was trying to check the kick and hence Conor caught him on one leg.

    Firas is the most brilliant coach in all of MMA, because he clearly has super high intuition (he can connect all the dots and see the big picture) and he is constantly analyzing and calculating everything. He knows whats works and doesn't waste a minute if it doesn't work. Firas is an innovator, always searching for a better (more efficient) way to do things (you won't see "tire flipping" in Firas's gym). Firas realizes that skills are important, but more importantly he knows the massive significance intelligence plays in a fight (why GSP always wins). Firas is a natural (due to his personality type) covert strategist and that is very hard to beat, because you will never know what hits you, until it is too late. He knows how important it is to understand the psychological aspect of fighting (it is HUGE).
    Just like a well rounded fighter, Firas has a well rounded mind (he has an extremely broad perspective) and can see things at a MUCH deeper level than the vast majority of people.
    Connor is an overt strategist and I think Khabib might be a covert strategist (there is not much to analyze, especially with the language barrier), so I always have to go with the covert strategist. Conor won many of his fights before they even started, but he isn't getting into Khabib's head and that might get into his own head.
    I agree with everything in Firas's analysis and I expect Conor to have improved considerably, but I think the most likely outcome is that Khabib takes Conor out of his element. It is not like Barboza and Iaquinta don't have KO power and Khabib GSP'ed them (shut down their strengths).
    Rory and Mousasi is going to be the chess match of all chess matches (psychologically), because they are the same (very rare) personality type and they are both covert strategists.
    Bobby Fischer was the same personality type as Firas, if anyone cares to go so deep to understand why Firas is the "chess master" of MMA coaching. Elon musk is the same (rare) personality type as well. It is all about "dominant cognitive functions" (introverted intuition and extroverted thinking). It takes that dominant cognitive "lens" (every personality type perceives through a different lens, due to their dominant cognitive functions) to be the consummate "covert strategist" and Firas sees through that lens 24/7, because introverted intuition is the only subconscious cognitive function and the subconscious is working 24/7 at seeking patterns and how things are connected.
    I just want people to know the depth at which Firas sees things (he is a brilliant visionary). He is too humble to say it because it would seem arrogant, even though it is just a fact. Firas is a perfectionist and he can't settle for second best. That is why he works so hard to be the best coach that he is. They have a great team of very deep (intuitive) thinkers at Tristar (Firas, Danaher, GSP, Rory....). Danaher has introverted thinking and extroverted intuition as dominant cognitive functions, but the combination is just as deep (if not deeper) and very complimentary to introverted intuition and extroverted thinking. Both types are as logical and rational as they come, but they look through a different lens and that is always good to check for biases.
    I think one of the smartest (most important) things a person can do is to realize their own weaknesses and Firas seems to have that in spades (intellectual rationalists tend to be quite weak in emotional and social intelligence) and has done a good job at shoring up his innate weaknesses.
    I have mad respect for Firas, because he is genuine and influential in a very positive way, which will make the world a better place, even if he wasn't the best MMA coach on the planet.

    • @keithharmon7824
      @keithharmon7824 5 лет назад

      Interesting but if he was the psychological guru why did he spend so much time on the "physicality" of the fight and not the "mental" if he sees the big picture. As I stated in my comment on this page, Conor is a "mind athlete" with the ability to implement Lycanthrophy when the cage door closes. No other fighter in the UFC has that "mind set". None! To analyze this fight and not put this Cavet as a pretext is just verbosity. It is not about Conor being overt or even just intelligent which he is. If you want to incorporate analysis you can't leave out anthropology. It is called Lycantrophy. I have watched that transformation to many times when the cage door closes. Can he be beat, certainly but his mind is his greatest weapon, it is the kite and his tools is the tail that makes him fly higher then anyone else. It is as coach says, 50/50 but that "mind set" for me tips the scales in a mystic way.

    • @gordthor5351
      @gordthor5351 5 лет назад

      Keith Harmon "Conor won many of his fights before they even started". "I have watched that transformation to many times when the cage door closes." Are we not seeing the same thing here? Trust me, it starts long before the cage door closes, because of Conors "overt" strategy. Conor is the king of overt strategy and guys like Firas and GSP are the king of covert strategy. I agree that Conor's mind is his greatest weapon, but not against a covert strategist, because a covert strategists can see what he is up to and won't fall for his bluffs and scare tactics before the fight. Life is like a game of chess to a covert strategist.
      The 2 personality types in question are very rare 1.5 - 2% of the population and they are actually very similar in many ways because they have the same dominant cognitive functions, but in reverse order (Conor: Extroverted Thinking, Introverted Intuition, Extroverted Sensing, Introverted Feeling) (GSP, Firas: Introverted Intuition, Extroverted Thinking, Introverted Feeling, Extroverted Sensing).
      "Mystic" Mac's vision comes from Introverted Intuition (secondary in cognitive strength), which is stronger in a covert strategist (dominant in cognitive strength). Conor's overt strategy might work on 98% of people, but it won't work on a covert strategist, because they will always be a few (chess moves) ahead.
      Like I stated, physicality is important, but at the highest level (UFC) every fighter has excellent physical aspects, so it is the psychological giants whom rise to the top and remain there for a long time.

      Gord Thor is your analysis based on MBTI? Do you have references about that?

    • @gordthor5351
      @gordthor5351 5 лет назад +3

      Arthur Napoleao It doesn't matter what typing system, because they are all based on the patterns which already exist in people. I am a constructivist, so I never go with one source. I try to take in a bunch of info from many different sources and perspectives and come to my own logical conclusions. My analysis is partially based on MBTI, but only because I have repeatedly seen the patterns myself. Personality typing is just levels of arbitrary numbers of distinction, based on cognitive function order of preference (thus strength), but the actual levels of distinction could be extrapolated to 7 billion different types of people, although that would be unnecessary and far to complex for any human mind to comprehend. "Core" traits drive people and that is what personality typing is all about.
      When I listen to other INTJs, it is like listening to my own thoughts (no other type has the same reasoning patterns and other core trait patterns). No other type has the same dominant cognitive order (Ni and Te). ENTJs (Conor) have the same functions in reverse order and I can certainly relate to them, but they are quite different. Only Firas knows for sure if my analysis is accurate.

    The fight I keep thinking about is takanori gomi v ralph Gracie in pride do you think that Conor will catch him coming in like that ? As Khabib goes for the takedown, I would be very surprised if Conor wasn’t working on that in training

    Hi Coach, thx for great analysis.
    #Khabib-time, this is gonna end by kimura in the 1st despite Khabib saying he wants to punish Mcgregor

  • @gg2fan
    @gg2fan 5 лет назад +40

    If Khabib takes him down what I'm most afraid of is a bs ref standup. There's been too many objectively terrible standups to count recently, many may have even determined fights, like Maia vs Usman. If the casual audience sees Khabib getting stood up after taking McG down, it will reek of fight fixing, although the reality isn't much better- a troubling pattern that seems to come from higher up than Marc Goddard or Miragliotta making a weird decision. I don't think that's ever happened to Khabib because he's very active on top but if he starts working a submission I could see it happening.

    • @wrestler-kickboxer2524

      Skylitze lmao if Khabib gets him down theres no way they're standing them up. He'll do lots of damage on the ground.

    • @MindBat
      @MindBat 5 лет назад +1

      Only reason for the ref to stand them up is if there's no activity or if nothing is being accomplished. The crowd will start to boo the "laying and praying" after a while.

    • @nodrama490
      @nodrama490 5 лет назад +5

      Skylitze khabib is always active on the ground. But yeah if the ref stands them up it would be a fix from Dana

      10-8 rounds are Khabib's thing! Seldom do those scores involve stand ups. In fact, Khabib is the only fighter around with the ability to run up the score! He could win by a blowout (e.g., 50-40 across the scorecards for the Eagle). Has anyone seen better 10-8 stats than his?

  • @PSG4life
    @PSG4life 5 лет назад

    Coach Zahabi, how much to you think footwork will play into this fight? I would think if Conor has any chance in beating khabib he will need to use his footwork to to trap khabib into falling for the left hook.

  • @cambo6911
    @cambo6911 5 лет назад

    Conor has that slick single leg defence where he gets an under hook same side, then swings his free leg around. As his hips & shoulders follow, his hips turn down in to a sprawl, then he turns & limp legs out.
    If he can keep it in the center of the cage, like he often does so well, it could work well for him.
    I'm anxious for this fight. I can't help but think that Khabibs' wrestling is a stronger force than Conors' striking simply because Khabib has been at his art longer. Not sure if it'll mean anything in the end but that's my opinion on who has a stronger specific skill set. Yet Conors' striking seems to be more potent when it comes to finishing.
    Dang, I'm with you on this one Coach, 50/50.
    It's gonna be a barn burner 👍

    love firas objective analysis. Hopefully Mcgregor will have some tricks trained from bottom as well as standup & manages to make it a fight down there, or maybe he'll just try to nutrulize damage & conserve energy like against mendes. Got it 50/50 too but rooting for Connor & think it has a lot to do with how well he has & is preparing. Kabib is the same savage master grappler as always yet uses same setups & tendancies & a strategist like mac can pick up on some to counter

    If you recognise the philosophy the way coach recognises it - you definately have the correct acquired mathematical calculation to this fight technically speaking.
    The question boils down to something that cannot have any human measure - spirituality.
    Although Islam does tend to have the supra-rational answer.

    For the last two years Connor has been training for could be, for Connor to take this fight With only eight weeks to train tells you that he sees something or no something that could be does that doesn’t scare him so he’s ready plus his boxing has improved tenfold since he fought Mayweather so he’s probably gonna be even more accurate and stronger. I mean seriously think about it heats taking this fight with only eight weeks such short notice which tells me he’s been training for the last two years and he’s ready

      It's funny. I was contemplating this earlier. We know Khabib's grappling is better than Conor's and we know Conor's striking is better than Khabib's. So I was thinking it may come down to whether Khabib's striking was better than Conor's grappling. It's hard for me to believe that Khabib's striking or Conor's grappling are quite as weak as some people make them out to be. I don't think you get to the level either of them are at without at least being competent in all disciplines to some degree. Man, I am ready for Oct 6th.
