Firas is so right about this. The day that Khabib retired (2 yrs ago) Islam was immediately the best active lightweight in the world. But it took him that long because there were bigger names in the lw division.
Yes, bigger names or higher ranks didn’t necessarily mean they were the best. Islam can take on any of the so called top 5 guys Charles fought for the belt. He would dominate all of them just like the way he did Oliviera.
the lw top 5 is full of guys that dont want to fight the rest of the division, poirier is currently ranked #2 because he beat conor twice... i want to see him beat gamrot or fiziev
@@WiseNationalSocialism what brand of tinfoil do you use? Calling people silly... Hahaha
Bigger doesn't necessarily better
Yup and the big names didn't wanna fight him and lose their spot
Khabib's father was a badass in his own-right, extremely skilled and was even the Ukrainian national judo champion. Took all his skills and developed it specifically for cage fighting and passed it on to his son from a very young age. You arent gonna beat that.
Ok Mollywhopper
Fr people think it’s there wrestling when in reality it’s the fact they’ve been doing mma since they where little
As Abdulmanap said, when Khabib leaves, Islam will arrive. It is time. Incredible. 👏🏾
Absolutely.
RIP Abu Khabib.
Javier is one of the greatest coaches of all time too.
He's a true OG of the UFC.
Also very humble.
Shamrock, Cain, Luke, DC, Khabib, Islam, 6 kings of aka
@@JesusIstMuslim you can somewhat kinda put Leon in there as well cause he trained in aka for a while
@@JesusIstMuslim Umar soon too
@@JesusIstMuslim You forget BJ Penn

It isn’t just that they are winning, it is how dominance they look in doing so. Truly amazing.
Exactly, it's one thing to win a fight. It's another thing to make a world-class fighters look regular. And a lot people don't get this. They will forever say (insert fight name) looked off/they didn't fight like they usually do. Well guess why.
Alhumdulillah!
Firas, you’re the man! All so called analysts before fight were like “Islam hasn’t fought anybody in top 5, Charles will outstruck him, will submit him blah blah”. Only you and Josh predicted the fight so accurately! You have such a great insight to the game!
Dan Hardy bottled it. Only Luke Thomas saw it
Absolutely !!! I heard Firas saying before the fight he was giving Islam 60-40 against Charles. And he added that normally he’d give guys 51, 52, 53 - 47 and Islam had 60% chance in his books.
Brendan dorman too
They also said the same about khabib
Definitely the best trainer of all times 💯
💯 Abdulmanap Magomedovich Nurmagomedov is most definitely the greatest martial arts trainer of all time
He definitely is.
Abdulmanap has so many Champs all over the mma community...and has produced God knows how many athletes overall...
I'd love to see a detailed documentary about him.
Rip 🙏
He was the icon of Mma , may Allah give him the highest place in heaven .
Aamiin 🤲🏼
The icon of mma? Great coach but lets not pretend casuals even know who this man is
@@docbuckets5923 great Abdul manap created the style no one could solve it and they tell their opponents what they gonna do to them and nobody stops them , this is greatness of late Abdulmanap
@@danishmushtaq6009 thats cool, still doesnt make him “the icon of mma”. Didnt gleison tibau and adriano martins solve it? How does abubakar have three losses? He’s a great coach, one of the best but let’s speak factually abt his legacy to truly honor his memory. Don’t say nobody unless its actually true. Lying doesn’t honor and teach future generations who he really was. We have to portray these people as humans, not as gods incapable of imperfection
@@docbuckets5923 LOL, lost to one guy nearly a decade ago. "YOU GOT SOLVED" what a retarded statement. If you know had known anything about any of their fighters you'd know abubakar is the worst because he never took training seriously and was a street gangster for most of his career. and then you neglected to mention Umar and Usman, just to let your biased take go crazy. Get real man, Javier Mendez + Abdulmap are probably the most unbeatable coaches are out there. and it has been proven by having like 7 mma champs come out of one gym. Do you even realize how rare that is? especially considering how high level the later champions were? No-one is saying they are incapable of imperfection you clearly are just jealous or a fan of someone they beat, but it'd be more fair preface your bullshit with a statement saying so.
Abu Khabib .. Love it. may Allah SWT grant him Jannatul Firdous . Both khabib and Islam are amazing students with high respect for the elders.
Great analysis. I agree mastermind. Samba is just so dominant. Dagestan is a place of warriors. Aloha from Hawaii.
Sambo is jiu-jitsu. Didn't you listen?
Late Abdul Manap Nurmagomedov was most probably amongst the best trainers in the world. Probably very high on that list.
Indeed he is the greatest trainer of all time...may Allah Subhaanutaa'la grant him Jannatul Firdous
Also Coach Javier so sincere and devoted and the greatest of all time too

I respect Firas so much. Even though you are a BJJ guy- you give props where they are due.

Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov is the new Gracie 🔥🔥🔥🔥
His students & sons will be in 100 years to the UFC what the Gracies were in the last century in the world of MMA.
Inshalla (God-willing)
Firas, you're also considered one of the best coaches from what I'm hearing. I love your humility
unfortunately only two rounds but that shows what a Fighter he is
Coach Khabib the GOAT
I guess you never heard of Trevor Whitman, Caesar Gracie, Pat Militich, Jackson/Wink, Uriah Faber, … Y’all need to study MMA history and learn about the coaches who have multiple champions at the same time in multiple divisions over a decade. Stop the cap.
Absolutely 💯 may allah have mercy on him. Also tha predictions he made was incredible and they just come into reality now. He used to respect coach Javier so much as well. He could let him take control. He was amazing dad.

Aside from being an amazing trainer, he was absolutely a beautiful person in the way he treated others. That was his most impressive virtue.
May allaah bless him with the highest rank in paradise ameen
There’s a video of a young Khabib and Islam training and Islam hits that same trip on Khabib.
These dagestanis are so comfortable in body lock positions. They can trip you from there and you wont know it. I am just eager what Umar Nurmagomedov is gonna bring. He is future 135 lb champ.
You're spot on about Islam but glad Charles got to do what he did

Sir pleade share about your training with Sakad Peychindee as well .thanks
Hey firas you’re a goat coach too and would come out on top if gsp vs khabib ever happened !!
Hi friend I have been watching your channel for a long time and seeing you grow and it is amazing I have a question for you. I am 22 years old and I have been a Muay Thai fighter for several years. Now I got my coach certificate And I should start making RUclips videos of martial arts I just don't really know where to start

They're good because of Javier Mendes, he's the one that perfected their style for MMA. If it weren't for him they would just be mediocre grappling based fighters.
Greatest wrestling/grappling coach of all time. Those guys had zero striking before they learned boxing at Russia’s national boxing team and kickboxing at AKA.
Abu Khabib''s Plan indeed!!
Mashallah
Coach, why you kept calling Khabib as light heavyweight? I noticed it in the previous vid too😅
Because now he is.🤣
Canuck banter
it's darble chiz borgir effect 🤭
Brain damage from fighting causes you to make slips like that. I call people by their wrong name and sometimes look at my siblings and for a second completely forget their names lol. It's normal.
Khabib lhw wow
It was like Abdulmanap knew that after he passed, khabib wouldnt want to stay around as a fighter regardless of whether he was champ or not. And he knew islam would be the next in line as the most dominant in the div when khabib left
He's a great one, one of the best but there are some others great coaches, btw I am not able to rank them as I am not a coach specialist as Firas.Just I think there is a bias because Firas is emotional on this topic. Btw let Khabib's father RIP, I view only one video of him teaching thanks to an Australian guy who asked the service of a translator, and it is a great video available on RUclips.
i dont think firas is biased abdulmanap trained Russia's military and countless gold Olympians as well
♥️
I absolutely respect Khabib's father and he's definitely up there. But it's hard to claim he's the greatest when you have folks like John Danaher out there. Arguably the driving force behind GSP becoming the goat at WW and Gordon Ryan becoming the goat of nogi (and that's without counting almost a dozen of his students reaching the peek of the sport with 1/10 of the experience of their competitors)
Gotta mention trevor wittman if anyone. Also javier mendez is really the mastermind behind a lot more champions
@@docbuckets5923 John Danaher is the goat BJJ trainer. With all due respect, Trevor Whitman has produced only Rose Namajunas. Usman came to him as a champ. Gaethje wasn’t truly a champ.
Javier Mendez inherited a stable of fighters. DC, Cain, Khabib, Rockhold, and Islam all had the main skill level already ingrained in them before coming to his gym.
Abdulmanap took children from scratch and built them into some of the best fighters of their generation. 22 combat sambo champions, Khabib (29-0), Islam (23-1), Usman Nurmagomedov (15-0), Umar Nurmagomedov (15-0)… etc.
That Harai Goshi set up must be highlighted. In clinch Islam goes knee to the body just to bait Oliveira. Charles responds with his own knee to the body and just as he brings his foot down - Islam does the throw. Just shows how high Islams fight IQ is.
He did the exact same thing against Arman Tsarukyan, who's a much better stand-up grappler than Charles... 😂
I wasn't even surprised when it happened in the fight, just glad I quickly noticed it.
Tony is exactly the example of your chin cannot last forever
bro habib and islam are lightweights, you said light heay weight 2 times.
keep it up brother you are an inspiration
Actually.... Abdulmanap had been saying, Islam is better than Khabib. Islam is the only one who can win a round against Khabib in practice.
Don't make things up. Abdulmanap never said that. Your point even contradicts it: Islam was able to win few rounds here and there from Khabib, that's all.
What are you talking about? This is no. 1 bullsh*t brother.

Khabib has been training since a little kid. Islam came a little later and has been doing it for 22 years. The experience these guys have is next level.
Islam was the sharpest tool in that team. Abdulmanap knew it.
when i think of judo i think of Rounda Rousey and her mom
👍
Would a less aggressive knee work better? Rather than a jump, just the typical raised knee/check/teep feint.
Raising your knee at all vs Islam is a bad idea, I was very surpised Charles went for this, it was only a matter of time before his wrecklessness caught up with him.
@@zGJungle yeah i agree. I remember khabib eating a knee/kick ti the head then finishing the takedown and the round.
The hilarious part is that Oli got beaten by a body jab lmao
If Islam was using a more traditional double/single leg approach, yes. He wasn't shooting to make himself open to knees honestly. He relied on clinch work to take him down. Judo throws and sweeps.

It's true. I think Justin Gaethje is losing his chin. Especially after the Chandler fight. Charles doesn't have crazy power but Gaethje said it felt like jt.
I’d love to know why Coach Firas believes Khabib is greater than Islam.
I too believe Khabib’s the greatest. But I have my own reasons. What I would LOVE, is to hear the Coach’s reasonings.
Javier Mendez stated that Islam is a more complete fighter than Khabib, something that Khabib himself has asserted, and that Islam is the only fighter to have ever given Khabib trouble during training with no other fighter coming close.
So, I’d love to get Coach Firas’ views on why Khabib is the greatest lightweight, followed by Islam, and not the other way around.
Do you think Charles fights that way because he pulls guard over shooting single/double leg?
“You lose your chin!” - Nathan Diaz: “Hold my joint”
these dagestani guys is a bunch of sport nerd, any kind of sport, they have a lot of knowledge in sports, just watch when khabib talk about football, also look at how they appear in most occasion, it’s so rare they come up with suit or something flashy like that, when islam win, khabib enter the cage with slipper and his pants half folded up lol
Love how casual they dress lol like you said not all celebrity fancy dress up.
Abdulmanap + Javier Mendez in your corner = World Champion
With all due respect you was wrong about do bronx...no he don't need to changed his gameplan for the fight..kill or be killed no BS thats what he want and that is why he become one of the most exciting champions ever and loved by fans
