    Chael, I love you, but I thinkg you're wrong about Conor and Floyd. Conor did great, but the rounds he won were only won because of Floyd's strategy. Floyd wants to see what you have in the early rounds and study you like live game film, then exploit your weaknesses, however small. That's what he did versus Conor. It's not a slight on Conor, it's just expertise in a different discipline. So for those reasons I believe your assessment is wrong. Conor didn't whip Floyd's ass; Floyd let Conor get to work, and shut him down in the safest and most strategic way possible. And Floyd left unharmed with his hand raised.

      Random person one uppercut in a 12 round fight? Bruv be let Conor tire himself out and he walked him down and finished him, remember that Floyd has never fought like that in his life and he doesn't ever finish guys, but he finished McGregor easily and handily

    Yeah, I'm with the other posters. You definitely exaggerated his performance vs Floyd. First 2 or 3 rounds were solid, but that's how almost all of Floyd's fights go. That's just part of his strategy. From an overall perspective, he got his ass whooped just like we all figured he would.

  • @TheBasketballInvestigator
    @TheBasketballInvestigator 6 лет назад +27

    I think it's anyone's fight, really. If Conor manages to keep the fight standing up for at least the first couple of rounds, and I don't see why he wouldn't, knowing that's exactly what he has to train for and he isn't a guy who is easy to take down, then he can definitely end Khabib w/ a bunch of unsuspecting shots that he's so gifted at throwing. If Khabib can eat those shots and keep going forward, then it's obviously going to get ugly. I just don't see how anyone can call it one way or another. Both of these fighters deserve the utmost respect from a skill standpoint.

      It’s not unwinnable but it’s clearly in khabibs favour

    • @TheScaleModeller

      Rhys Jones When did Nate take Connor down....?
      I remember him stuffing take down attempts in the 2nd fight and being choked out from a failed take down

    • @TheBasketballInvestigator
      @TheBasketballInvestigator 6 лет назад +6

      He didn't take Conor down. Conor went down because he preferred that over the punishment he was taking while standing up. Basically gave up because he gassed out and was taking too much punishment on his feet. The key for Conor is to manage his power the way he did against Alvarez, pick and choose his spots and snuff that take down. If he can show that he can shut down the take downs early on, the advantage will be on his side.

    • @aaronscott4984
      @aaronscott4984 6 лет назад

      Yea it's not one sided imo also many factors come into play Conner should focus heavy on his cardio for a fight with Khabib. That's his biggest downfall his gassing out fast we seen alright fighters trash straight talent cause the talent gasses out and the alright fighter has great conditioning. Forest Griffin is a prime example he's a good fighter not the best but his conditioning won him quite a few fights.

    2:55 "So many other great guys" who? who exactly? As far as I'm concerned Khabib has had TWO tough opponents in his career: RDA and Barboza.... only two tough guys he has fought. No Al Iaquinta isn't a hard opponent, he's 13-4. No Michael Johnson isn't a tough guy, he's 17-13. So you tell me who "All those great guys" are..

    • @MikkaBoii
      @MikkaBoii 5 лет назад

      Are you thick? McGregor knocked out a FW Champion-veteran who hadn't lost in 10 years, it took Conor 13 seconds to knock him out. He defeated Holloway when he was 21 not 19, and Max was already a tough fighter back then. He knocked out Poirier in the first round. Funny how you say "midges and Alvarez" when Alvarez is shorter than both Poirier and Holloway. He is 1-1 with Nate Diaz, who is a huge welterweight. Diaz called Conor out, when Conor was supposed to fight RDA. RDA got injured so they gave Diaz the fight. The fight was initially a lightweight match, but Diaz (as the bitch he is) said he could only make 160. Then when they accepted that, he said only 165. It ended up with him dragging it to 170 (Welterweight) - so you tell me how impressive it is for a 145 champion to move up to welterweight to fight a guy who's as tall as Michael Bisping. Fucking bum. Conor even knocked him down 3 times. Look at Nate's face after 202... he'll never look the same. Khabib has only fought bums, except RDA and Barboza (which isn't even that big names).
      Conor has Poirier, Alvarez, Aldo (13 sec), Diaz (WW), Holloway etc. And not to mention: he finishes most of them. Khabib goes the distance in most of his fights.
      Fuck outta here bitch.

    • @UnrealTournament420
      @UnrealTournament420 5 лет назад +1

      Did you watch the mendes fight? Conor looked really rough and it was shown in his documentary that he had a torn acl going in to that fight , he could barely move and still showed up and beat him. His movement was far from ideal in that fight resulting in him getting taken down, if you think he's gonna stand across khabib like he did against chad mendes you're wrong , he'll be much lighter on his feet like he did vs jose aldo.So you're right there will be a difference let alone the fact conors perfect weight class is 155 lbs and not 145 lbs so he will be in shape with good cardio. The only fight we have seen conor at 155 lbs in the ufc is vs Alvarez and he looked damn good in that fight , alvarez barely touched him and got knocked down 3 times before getting tko'd. I like how most of you think when you're infront of someone who has a reach advantages on you , you can just attempt a takedown with no caution. I see alot of people saying , yeah khabib can take a punch. How many guys did Conor put on his ass who had a reach disadvantage so have to get in to conors reach. I can't help it but im gonna enjoy lots of these comments of people saying conor is gonna get smashed/mauled whatever. When Conor KOs Khabib i bet alot of people will be saying its a fluke or some shit , but when a guy has 18 Knockouts out of his 21 wins how is that a fluke?

      Mendes was a great fighter. But he fought a untrained and unprepared Chad Mendes. Conor also fought a post-IV Jose Aldo (they changed the rules right before that fight). And he fought a champion who was 3-1 in the UFC and beat a post-IV RDA (RDA was already struggling with rehydration before IV and post IV he passed out a few hours before his fight against Alvarez) but who also had lost to Cowboy Cerrone and won a close fight against Gilbert Melendez and beat a Anthony Pettis that basically every top ten LW can beat.

      False. Mcgregor has two losses early in his career as well. May be early fights, but still losses. Khabib is 26 and 0. Mcgregor s spirit and body can be broken, as Nate diaz showed up. Khabibs cannot. He is strong in ways that mcgregor can’t imagine

    • @ScorpionXII

      Not really... Floyd's plan was to avoid all of Conor's shots early in the fight and wait for him to to gas out, meanwhile downloading Conor's movement patterns. Floyd however... had a bit of trouble with Conor's weird style of fighting and got clipped a few times, and he ended up losing the first three rounds. Floyd isn't going to "toy around" with his 50-0 record, he has no intention of getting clipped by Conor at all.

    • @kevinjohnson6549
      @kevinjohnson6549 5 лет назад +5

      Evil Joey The ref should have been deducting points from Conor.. he hit him in the back of the head like 25 times and landed an extremely hard low blow. And rewatch the fight and see that Conor was initiating most of the hugs. Floyd was landing so many significant shots though the fight and All Conor really landed was pitter patter shots without any weight behind them.

    • @Keyy7787
      @Keyy7787 5 лет назад +4

      Yeah if that was a fight between two boxers connor would have been deducted at least one point he faught very dirt and used the clinch alot because he has bad conditioning. Floyd knew this and wanted to tire him out and get him in the later rounds but I think Connors weird style prolonged the fight a little longer than floyd wanted. Chael saying he didnt even get finished is a joke because if the fight wasn't stop when it was connor was going to get repeated beat into a pulp until he was completely out and probably would have suffered some serious damage if not for the stoppage

    Before hand I felt this would be a tough one to call. But seeing how poor khabibs stand up is, he's in deadly waters with a striker of Conors caliber. People say edson is the best striker at 155 but that's garbage, sure he's got some powerful and fast kicks, but his boxing is non existent. Conor is amazing with range and distance controll, his punches are other worldly, and his takedown defence is very very underrated... khabibs wrestling is no question the most dominant in the history of the UFC or MMA in General. It all boils down to CAN khabib close the range down and take Conor down. I think Conors distance controll and footwork will be far superior and with khabibs high chin, Conor will land punches at will. But if khabib can close the distance and land the takedown then chances are the match is done. But Conor has shown, proved how good he is. It'll be awesome to see, but I'm going with Conor.

    • @natamarley1210
      @natamarley1210 6 лет назад

      Brandon you make a very good point. I can respect your opinion. Me personally I'll go with khabib, because I think if Conor does not ko khabib in round 1 or 2 I think Conor will gas out and khabibs pressure will drown Conor. Conor has good TD defence but I think khabib, is stronger than Conor especially against the cage. I think khabib, will wheather the storm take Conor down and then submit him. I don't think Conor has ever faced anyone with the caliber of grappling khabib brings. He did beat good grapplers like Chad and Nate but they are no where near the level khabib is on. Khabibs grappling is from a different planet!

      @natamarley1210 6 лет назад

  • @nohbdy1122
    @nohbdy1122 6 лет назад +9

    I don't think this fight will be close. Khabib is vulnerable to counters when he overcommits on punches, and he also lifts his chin without the head movement to back it up unlike Conor. However, Conor's takedown defense is mediocre at best, as is his guard on the ground. They both are specialists at dealing with precisely what each others' weaknesses are, and some of the best in the game at their speciality at that, so I see this being a quick knockout for Conor like what happened to Aldo or Alvarez or I see a total domination for Khabib like a repeat of Edson Barboza.

    Tyson Fury's been out of boxing for over 2 years and he was wise enough to know he's not ready yet to fight AJ or Wilder. The same should apply for McGregor - it would be a big big mistake if Dana puts him in there with Khabib after 2 years out.

    • @youngbuck9314
      @youngbuck9314 6 лет назад

      OJ Tonner Tyson Fury was really out of shape and is still working towards getting fight fit. Conor seems to have been training regularly since he's been off and look at how well GSP did after 4 years out.

      OJ Tonner since he won the lightweight belt he knew that Khabib was next. He must have been preparing, he's too smart to go into this fight unprepared. You can't compare Tyson Fury and McGregor, Fury hadn't been training at all and gained a lot of weight.

Looked to me like Floyd coasted for 10 minutes and then the 40yr old, 20lbs lighter, 2 years post retirement rusty veteran proceeded to walk down this unconditioned amateur with fairly obvious ease. True but Floyd carries a lot of guys. He always plays it safe unless he's forced to fight. He fought defensively for the first couple rounds and then went on the offense, something that he was only able to do because of how much better of a boxer he was. He walked Conor down and looked like a completely different Floyd because of it. But I do think Conor hung in there longer than Floyd thought he would. Floyd even said right after the fight that it took him a little longer than expected to get the finish. So I give props to Conor for that. Could it have ended sooner? Absolutely. But I think it was a mix of Floyd playing it safe, wearing him down, and Conor for having a good chin.

      Joakim Kempe absolutely. Plus, chad is a 5’6” bantamweight who goes around 160 when not cutting. Khabib is 4” taller, and goes over 190 when not cutting, trains with a former middleweight champ in rockhold, and light heavyweight champ in Cormier, and has dominated everyone he’s fought. He also has an amazing fight Iq, 5 round endurance, and a mental strength that mcgregor can’t touch. Mcgregor s trash talk will not work on khabib. Mcgregor s spirit broke and he gave up against diaz. And that’s not good for him, cause breaking people is what khabib does. I’d like to see the day that khabib ever taps out. It simply won’t happen. Mcgregor better sleep him fast, or he’s gonna leave the octogenarian a damaged man

    I like Chael's bafflement about this one. It's honest. And to be real, we should all be thinking pretty much the same thing. Khabib's timing on his strikes is pretty good, even if he leaves his chin up. Against Iaquinta, he's tough enough to handle him - and Iaquinta's really good. But Conor's got some kind of magic aura about him. I don't even mean that as hyperbole. He's got something in his psychology that let's him apply a crazy amount of mental pressure on guys and psyches them out, both before and during a fight. It takes them out of their game. I'm certain Khabib's chin just looks like a big, juicy steak to a doberman. But damn Khabib's wrestling is good. And who knows where Conor's cardio is at this point. Or his whole fight game. Did $100M suck the fight out of him? Barring bad financial management, he should be just about good. This is about legacy now. Or is it? Money does crazy things to people. I think having that level of wealth puts a ridiculous amount of pressure on someone - all those leeches that want to get a piece of it, or use him for something.

    Chael is doing his best to be original in his analysis of the fight, but man i think that worst one i ever heard about a huge potential fight like this one, you comparing Chad Mendez and Khabib that's laughable, if Khabib take Conor's down the referee should just stop the fight and the attendance should go out, that's over, the only chance Conor has is knocking out Khabib cold in the first round, after that Conor chances to win are litterally 0%, khabib is bigger even guys heavier than him have problems fighting him, what's scary about Khabib is he even isn't afraid of Tyron Woodley which is the typical guy that could whoop his ass, very strong, explosive very good wrestler ...... , the truth is if you wanna be fair and blunt, it's all body language, the bus incident just shows how conor is afraid of khabib, paulie malignagi did reveal his biggest weakness when his back is legit against the wall, he act in the most cowardly way possible ..... Conor has a diffult road ahead of him, if i was him i would choose to fight woodley, even if ihe loose his star is still high and shining, woodley, another boxing match and last hope Khabib by that time toose to someone like Nate or Nick, Conor should not only plot with the UFC against Khabib, he has to take treathful opponent to be credible

      To add to the point about Tyron, he actually said that the one person he wouldn’t wanna fight is Khabib because of all the problems he would give him. That right there speaks volumes.

      MADK 27 Not only that but Chad actually was out of shape going into that fight too because of only having a 2 week camp. There’s a reason “Full Camp Mendes” is a thing the same way “Motivated BJ Penn”, “TRT Vitor” and “Non Black Opponent Gustafson” are Lmao.

      Dude Khabib has monster grappling but he is overhyped. Don't downplay Chad Mendes. Mendes almost beat Aldo in his prime and almost beat Conor. His wrestling is at the highest level. Khabib hasn't faced anyone even close to the MMA level of Aldo while Aldo was in his prime. Khabib's grappling is next level but he isn't a complete fighter. Conor's problem is his cardio. His take down defense is very solid. This fight goes three ways. Decision victory for either fighter, early round KO Conor or Mid to late round TKO Khabib.

      I didn't downplay Chad, i just think that Khabib wrestling is on another planet compared to Chad, Mendez is a lot, lot smaller than Khabib, even Tyron Woodley like i said in my first comment doesn't want at all a superfight with Khabib, if you are logical with yourself. if Mendez is that good, how does it compare to Tyron, Tyron will play jugling ball with his body. ruclips.net/video/7dhRpJ9ydiw/видео.html, look at the linked video, i don't think Tyron don't feel he can beat him, he just said it himself after a fight with Khabib you won't look good at all, it would be impossible for him to request a superfight with GSP or Nate ...... or Conor ........after fighting Khabib, khabib is not overhyped at all some people just don't like him, he beat everyone presented to him, Barboza, Al Iquanita, Johnson, Dos Anjos before those 3.... those 4 are legit opponents, i think if the Conor fight don't happen he should continue to build his name, and go up in weight and fight Colby Covington, that fight would be entertaining to say the least ......

      Only 2 of Conor's 21 wins were by decision. 18 were by knockout and 1 was by submission.

      JohnNada80 lol all his knockouts are against midgets. He has only ever knocked out 1 guy his own size and that was Dustin porier.

    Usually, I can figure out when Chael is lying...whenever he opens his mouth. But, I actually agree with his prediction on this. Khabib reminds me of a mini version of Fedor in his prime. He can hold his own anywhere, but ultimately, he is going to pressure you, smartly, and wear you down, and ground and pound you at will. So this is one of the few times I agree with you Chael.

      Samuel Reilly right he even admitted he carried him conor McGregor made money but that fight was crazy one sided because mayweather wanted a show

      Samuel Reilly surely not in the 1st, the earliest he could finish mcgregor was the 4th round

    • @garryjones1776
      @garryjones1776 6 лет назад +6

      Floyd doesnt posses knock out power, and Mcgregor is hard to KO. So finish in the first 3 rounds when Conor is fresh is out of question.

      Floyd betted on himself in the 10th round. The round which he won. Everyone in his gym knew this, also, what ever happened to Conor’s scary left hand? It did nothing. Lol

      Samuel Reilly lol yeah you are definitely smoking something no way in hell could’ve he finished Conor inside 1 round otherwise he would have met more then just that upper cut he got clipped with the absolute earliest would have been round 5 when Conor was showing signs of fatigue
