These words mean nothing. The industry itself is unsustainable & this is simply the execs squeezing the last drop out to enrich themselves.

I worked in the mines in the 90's operating loaders moved 3000 tonne a shift in a 966.
The best operators were mainly from farming backgrounds now they are Indian and other migrate imports.
Many truck drivers Inc East West are now Indian taking many jobs off existing Australian drivers because they don't complain and have lower standards.
I left the mines coughing blood due to silica dust such was the safety standards back then.
Made many good mates in the mines and we all rode bikes when on RnR.
Honestly the housing issues Australians are enduring right now are due to the massive migrant intake something like 500 thousand a year which is unsustainable.

Also, not sure why they don’t fly us from Melbourne because they say we only fly from Perth. However, I have seen them flying a telehandler operator from Europe. Must be a good operator hahaha. So yes, I think you’re right. something funny going on.
Additionally, I resent hopeless cnts from elsewhere with expedited tickets jumping the queue. And don’t get me started about the brain dead non productive ones who can’t even remember to bring a pen each day.
To be fair, it’s not their fault. The funny rabbit hole one needs to dive into is who gets so many of these dangerously incompetent people placed on the job all at once? Making a mistake and hiring one goose is understandable. But when many gaggles of geese are placed on the job all at once is a bit funny to me.
So when you see someone leave a Jerry Can in front of the genset exhaust, or quick cutting sparks onto the refueling truck, or a gas axe operator igniting the shade cloth on a huge scaffold not once but twice, or leave the rotating beacon on overnight, it’s probably a safe bet that it’s one of these geese who doesn’t belong on the job.

The reason why companies like to get people to immigrate is it inflates the market for said job and increases the competition between workers, driving down costs for companies but mostly gives them more control over the working economy because without that they would be bending over and they did not become CEOs to bend over to workers. You have no fighting chance against that because companies have the money and can force governments to NOT have tough immigration policies. Which in the end causes social issues because the demand for essential items rise, housing, food, power etc. So basically you all got out smarted, lost the chess game.

Its also happening in the less dangerous jobs - my son was working in hospitality recently he quit because they under paid him and made him work hours for no pay.
While he was there the boss brought in a “skilled worker” with all the “tickets” (sacked the great australian qualified cook), this guy couldn’t even cook a lunch time pub meal (fish and chips), definitely not as dangerous as the situation your talking about but these people coming in as “skilled workers” are definitely not qualified in the slightest.

Mate I know you don't want to hear this , but when workers at K Mart are on nearly $25 an hour , I can understand why mining companies are prepared to put inexperienced workers on machines , because all your doing is moving dirt, and all repairs etc, are tax deductible. And this is also why housing is at a million dollars a pop, over paid mine workers. You get fed , housed and a break from the missus , & you still complain. You've got it so soft nowadays, me 7days on , 2 months continuous, qw hour shifts , on a drill rig., in all kinds of weather. Operators , 😅😅😅😅

      That’s ok you say anything
Think my real point I was trying to say
Just don’t come to site saying your experienced when your
Clearly not “ what I seen that day was dangerous “
I know we all got to learn
If the only way you can get job is to say your experience well these companies need to invest in the workforce and train the correct way give people a fair GO

@pupdownunder fair enough mate , you & I both know how mining companies work & we also know how desperate , people are for work. Maybe the company you work for ,needs a better induction course, with equipment handing test , before leaving the yard. If anything it's only going to get worse. Goodluck pup 🐶 , just make sure your aware .

The fact is if anything does go wrong using these people to operate these machines especially when the lives of other employees is concerned it's the mine manager who will be standing in front of the magistrate. They have to be able to prove in a court of law that they have trained and ticketed their employees and that all the paperwork is in order and signed off, otherwise they are leaving themselves wide open to hefty prosecutions and lawsuits.

I don’t know what your classes are professional “ taping keys on a keyboard ⌨️ “
Playing sports or getting educated to get stuck in a rut to pay off a Hicks education bill
Sounds like you might need to have a occupational change
It not that good of money if you go by hourly rate
It the hour a day 12.5 x 7 = 87.5 hours x hourly rate so if you do the time in your workplace you might see the results .
Every workplace has skill levels in different forms
Go fifo then give it a GO
      Show us your professional skills

      Yes totally get it
Maybe company look at employing? People and putting them through the course
Then the employee signs to pay for the course if the leave before 2 years then it’s a win win
Companies get the benefit out of skilling their workers correctly and you pick up the skill correctly ?

Answer this ONE question???Where is the professional training that ALL companies are supposed to supply??? is 1-3 days training sufficient? OH wait you should already know that!!! SERIOSLY...WHAT A JOKE!

    • @pupdownunder
      @pupdownunder  6 месяцев назад

If your employed as a skilled operator the job you applied for
      You shouldn’t need training
If you know machine and confident on gps
The adds I have been reading is asking for minimum years requirement
      What training do you need
I’m not going to apply for a dozer job if I don’t know how to operate it and know gps
Guess that’s were you got to work somewhere and start from scratch and if the company invests in you with the require training
