      It's a valid point that behaving irresponsibly or immaturely, especially in serious situations, can indeed exacerbate problems for oneself. Often, people might react emotionally or impulsively without considering the consequences of their actions. This kind of behavior can lead to misunderstandings, escalated conflicts, or even legal troubles.

      It's not odd at all. They seem to have had a drunken brawl, from what's shown had no intention of actually causing the death of the bloke, but unfortunately he died from the few hits he recieved due to what's essentially just bad luck. Textbook manslaughter, and hardly a murde case, despicable as the man's actions and behaviour may have been.
      A takeaway for me is how fragile human life really is, and how poorly this is reflected in TV/Movies etc. where the protagonist can take hit after hit without going down, when in reality just a single hit can be all it takes.

    • @Luclys
      @Luclys 4 месяца назад +5

      @@kvantkissen6616 I don't think it's text book at all especially when the CPS said murder. The guy is well known for his violence and then cries like a child bcos he gets done. What he needs is a good dose of reality. Here in Australia one punch crimes sadly are common and many have died and the ones that do survive aren't the same suffering with brain injuries for life. What pisses me off is the ones committing the crimes getting off so lightly, it's not fair and it's certainly not right as the victim can't get up from their grave after the killer walks out of jail.

    • @kvantkissen6616
      @kvantkissen6616 4 месяца назад +9

      @@Luclys It's not about what CPS or the Police say, it's about what they can *prove* in a court of law. In this case the perpetrator pleaded guilty to masnlaughter, which was accepted by CPS and the court, meaning that CPS was most likely uncertain of being able to convict him of murder.
      In English law this case falls quite neatly under Manslaughter by an unlawful and dangerous act (MUDA), aka Constructive Manslaughter. This case fills all the criteria. The act commited was both *intentional* and *unlawful*, a reasonable person *would recognize a risk of harm* ("albeit not serious harm") to the other person, and *it was the cause of death*. One-punch deaths like this have previously been held to be manslaughter, as in R v Wilson.

      Well...some parts of the world focus on rehabilitation instead of straight punishment. Where we went wrong in the US is focusing only on punishment, putting nearly zero thought in to a person being one day released & focusing resources on working to releasing a better person. Sure, not every person in prison can be changed, some are simply monsters but we push millions of non violent criminals thru the prison system, housing them with animals & far too many come out worse than they went in....But now, in the US, its too late, we completely doomed ourselves when we allowed private prisons to sink their teeth in. Companies using lobbyists to lobby congress for longer/ harsher sentences for non violent crime (mostly drug related) to ensure they can keep ppl longer...Caging non violent human beings, traded on open market! Then getting contracts with factories to use the inmates as slave labor. Huge government contracts to house them then huge corporate contracts to work them.
      Sick fact....CCA looks at number of children who fail 3rd grade to make statistical projectioms on the number of humans theyll most likely have in their prisons. Kids who fail 3rd grade are more likely to be in prison at some point...& if they ensure harsher sentences for the crimes theyre most likely to committ....momey in the bank. They spend big money to ensure generational inmates. They influence lawmaking to lock up most the men in poorer communities then influence the fatherless youth towards violence, gangs, drugs & alcohol...crime across the board. That way they can have you, your kids, their kids, their kids & so on. Its very real!....And we arent going to do anything but watch.
      Its absolutely killing America & historically will be in the top 3 reasons for our crumbling demise. JUST WATCH!

    What i got from this was that they were more focused on finding evidence to charge him with murder. Not letting the evidence speak for itself. I think they are trying to cover their butts because the girlfriend called twice, and nobody showed to arrest him. They could have prevented this but failed to do so. This is just as much on them then it is on the guy that threw the punch. And you can't hit someone hard enough to tear a major artery. If that was the case the boxing would be illegal.

      It’s possible if they aren’t expecting the punch. Also, pretty sure guys have died in the ring, although not sure what from. People have that happen in car accidents from their head getting jerked. That is also the usual manner of death for lots of the one punch and die deaths. A taser is a good way to deter a suspect from continuing to fight, flee or harm others or themselves. It’s a less lethal method that makes great sense.

    ..So if the cops had responded within 40 mins, to her 2 EMERGENCY calls that he's drunk & agitated, that other man would be alive today. They seem very excited to do him for murder (he has to pay the consequences) but they needed to do their job & protect the public instead of focusing on hurt feelings & social media posts.

    If Darren threw a punch there would likely be evidence of it on his hand! If there was no damage to his hand, there would be Declan’s DNA on it that should have been entered into evidence. That kid was a ticking time bomb, it was only a matter of time before he killed someone! So incredibly sad for Darren’s family and friends!

    if only the police had acted on one of the young lady's alarm calls regarding a drunk young man that she both knew and knew to be in a violent frame of mind that night. i wonder if the police will use her calls in evidence given that they were pleas for help from the young lady

      No. British police don't carry guns. There's special squads that are deployed if firearms are required.

    Only 6 months for taking if the life of an innocent person. What kind of justice is that? With his rage he will get out and act out again. Those tears were for him definitely not for the person’s life he took. He felt sorry for himself. This guy is trouble and the police are at fault in this too. They should have listened to the first two calls instead of doing nothing. They should of gone out and spoken to him at least. Warned him to stay home. They may have saved a life if they had actually had followed up on a 999 phone call. Just sad. They didn’t accept accountability for their mistakes either.

    In Australia our police are armed, it is good to see UK police have tasers, plus they should carry pump action shotguns in vehicles with both non lethal and lethal cartridges.
