    Ok so just followed these steps exactly on my 2013 RR Sport HSE Lux and went without any issues. Thanks so much Aleks!! You saved me a lot of money. When I put my sensor back on (the old sensor) it fit kind of loosely. I was expecting it to be snug in there like when I took it off. Ok, tomorrow will be the rear brakes and rotors so I’ll comment on that video afterwards. Thanks again!!

    • @ironhorsehero1988
      @ironhorsehero1988 Год назад

      @@alexkatler They didn’t require changing, the discs had some rust around the edges, I cleaned them with a drill and abrasive flap wheel and they were good enough to pass MOT. I couldn’t find a way of unlocking the hand brake as the Velar’s brake is fully automated ( no lever/switch) so I think some sort of OBD tool would be required to enable changing them.

    Fantastic. Doing this next week - my rotors warped and the braking causes steering wheel shudder. Great video...

    • @TheMzx124
      @TheMzx124 2 года назад

      Done. It was indeed the warped rotors issue. Steering wheel vibrations completely gone, braking smooth even at 170km/h, when before the rotor changes steering wheel was shaking so bad that it made me nervous - only at light braking, though. Now it's all fixed. Thanks again for the great video...

    So clear. My good friend who had a 2016 LR4 just passed away a few weeks ago and before he died he asked me to give it a once-over for his wife. Going to do the brake pads, front and rear, in a couple days. Anything special about the rear pads? Also, do I need to replace the sensors? (BTW, the dealer quoted her $2850 for new pads, rotors, and sensors..!)

    • @Alexfixty
      @Alexfixty  3 года назад +4

      No way, so expensive. If the sensors are damaged and worn out by thin brake pad you have to replace them.

      @justdave5121 3 года назад +2

      Just make sure your reservoir is opened and take some fluid out when pushing the piston back. Only if your brake fluid is full you need to take some fluid out or it will overflow when doing this piston retract.

      @anxmatrix 3 года назад +1

      Been a while since you posted, but you can also have your rotors “turned” at Oreilly s auto parts. I think they charge $20 per rotor. Drop them off in morning and haven back a few hours later. If the rotors are within spec, you have at least one “turn” you can do on a rotor, instead of buying new rotors . You DO want to turn or replace each pad replacement otherwise your pads get chewed up faster and possibly glaze (the rotors turn a bluish red tint from overheating) the rotors.
