Collards are #1 here in North Louisiana! I like to cook them with turnip greens and cabbage. Triple mix is really good! The cabbage tones down the bitterness.

The greens I didnt have until I met my husband from Virginia. He doesnt eat it but I do!! Love it even though never had until I was in my 40's. A women I worked with made ut for a party we had at work and now love it!!!
I’m like you. I Absolutely Love the Greens 🥬 I Also Love Beets and can’t Wait to see how you cook them. I am the only one in the family that likes greens 🥬 And Beets.
I think in my neck of the woods turnips may be the favorite but i always mix mustards and turnips when i cook them. But you are so right about most of us have probably eaten a bug or two. I work for a company that produce products for restaurants and/or packaged products. Restaurants mostly have zero tolerance for any foreign material but packaged products isn't the same there can be so many insects or insect parts it's done by a percentage.
You really got my attention on this one. I love turnips, but always make them with a beef roast. And I add a rutabaga to them. I’m going to try them your way because I love them. And, I love greens, but I only ever make collards. I use a smoked ham hock with mine, but, I will add some bacon now. I use salt and sugar but I do add vinegar. Your produce is awesome. Thanks.
Hey Talli Faye, Thanks for the recipe. I have been having a craving for turnip greens. My mom always made them from the can and like you I just love the taste but not every day. Well, I went looking in the stores and cannot find plain turnip greens in my area. I found the mustard, collard, mixed in a brand that is already seasoned but I am on low carb and those had 5 grams of carbs per serving which is like 4 in a can-nope, I am going to eat the whole can- so I didn't want then plus not sure how they were seasoned. I went to eat at a Furr's cafeteria with my parents growing up and one time I ordered turnip greens and when I ate them, they were gross, tasted bad. I told my Mom and she said oh those are probably mustard greens. Needless to say, I didn't finish them, so I do not want those for that reason. So, back to the store-I asked an associate if they had some, she uses her little device and says: "They are in the back wall" and points to the produce. I had no idea how to cook them from scratch. I wasn't even looking for this recipe when I saw it. (God has his ways) I stumbled across your channel randomly like a week ago. You are the bomb! I love your bubbly personality and think of you as an aunt I didn't have showing all those wonderful recipes. I can't eat most of it anymore because of the carbs but I enjoy watching you. It's like we are all gathered around in the kitchen! Well, I am going to try looking for the canned version but if I can't find any, at least I will know how to cook them from fresh now!

Greens are some of my favorite things. I don't care if their mustard, turnip or collard greens. I season with bacon and a little smoked meat. And I usually add a couple of cut up turnips too. All my kids love greens...with pickled jalepeno or pepper sauce.
