  • The #94th spot is an epiphytic Bromeliad known as Quesnalia marmorata, whose cultivar is named after the late Timothy Plowman, who happened to be one of the greatest botanists of his time. This bromeliad grows in trees and its flower could potentially be pollinated by hummingbirds. Like a snake plant, it grows upright, but I particularly like the little curls at the end of its leaves.
In this video I go over some basic care tips including where this plant grows natively, where I'm growing it in my home, propagation, watering, lighting and more.

Looks like a snake plant, low maintenance like a snack plant, but is actually an epiphytic bromeliad. This series is exposing me to the most interesting houseplants.

If you leave the pup attached to the mother will the mother die off?Or can you separate the pup from the mother (repot) so she could thrive more for herself then have more pups? Hope this isn't a dumb question.
