Dear 2050: We’ll stay focused on delivering a better water future

Today’s young water professionals will undoubtedly find their careers evolving in unexpected and exciting directions.
At ACE23, letters penned by 10 water leaders will be placed in a time capsule addressed to the water community of 2050. Collectively, these letters address key themes from Water 2050: AWWA’s initiative to collaboratively chart a course to a long-term sustainable and successful water future.
In her letter, Ji Im (Chair of AWWA’s Young Professional Committee 2021-2024, and Principal at @CDMSmith), wrote:
“As a consultant, I cannot envision what my job would exactly look like in the future. What I know for sure is that I will be doing all I can to tackle the most pressing water challenges, so we can have a future where the communities we serve are protected from climate change, emerging contaminants, aging infrastructure, environmental justice issues, and more.”
