    I think it’s unusual to be the kind of person who can speak easily and also pass academic language tests, people often have one side much stronger than the other. As you said about your friend who has level 6 but can’t speak easily or the other person who speaks but on a formal test doesn’t turn out to have correct and varied language. You have both and it’s pretty awesome. Edit: no implication that it’s not your own effort that made you skilled at both!

    I am the person who was not able to do any tests on high scores but speaking english comes so naturally to me and I am able to have very articulate and long conversations. Sometimes tests are kind of pointless because they don't test your skills but how well you follow the rules they measure you in. It's like judging a fish for its capability to run. It doesnt show anything.

    Congratulations Lindie! I've been following your Korean and Language Learning journey after I got introduced to your channel last month. I was supposedly taking TOPIK I last May but it got postponed due to coronavirus. I hope I could take TOPIK II next year. I'm studying diligently following your book recommendations and learning tips. Love from the Philippines ❤️
    P. S. I noticed you put in your site that you were also learning our language. I recommend putting 'Filipino' instead of 'Tagalog' in case you were interested with the official national language of the Philippines. Tagalog is a language but it is part of the wider Filipino language (like a compilation of Philippine languages). 😇

    • @dooniebardhan1344
      @dooniebardhan1344 4 года назад

      Hi! Sorry for sudden pinging buti wanted to know is Tagalog a piece of Filipino language and does Philippines have more than one language? Can I study only Tagalog for the whole conversation comfort in Philippines or do I have to study the whole??

    • @kskeososkeje
      @kskeososkeje 4 года назад

      @@dooniebardhan1344 hi! Thank you for your interest.
      Tagalog is a Philippine language. It is used mainly in the National Capital Region and nearby provinces. Filipino is the standardized language (i.e. the one taught in school or used in official communications) which picks up words from the many Philippine languages. But because Tagalog is used by a majority of the population in the PH, *most* of the Filipino language is derived from Tagalog. People (even us Filipino people) are usually confused between the two, or think of Tagalog as a dialect while Filipino is a language. Both are in fact, languages.
      Filipino has a really vast scope but I recommend studying it than sole Tagalog. There are lots of interesting things from other languages especially from the Bisaya/Visayas areas. You can see the similarities in words. I think Filipino is also more inclusive.
      Hope this helps. If you have more questions, you can reply anytime. 😇❤️

    I only aim for TOPIK 1. Rest I just want to speak and understand. I just started 1 month back and planning to get this skill by the 1.5 year. No hurry. Once I am able to understand what you said in Korean I would be too happy. Coz I even can't write advanced level word's in my native language. Even I think I have never written in my native language from past 6-7 years.

    Wow! You are amazing! Congratulations!
    우리 선생님 recently told us that we can already do TOPIK 2 with our level (lvl 3. Sejong Institute) but now I see that you need to be VERY well prepared. 😱

    Great job! Whenver I've taken tests like this, the listening section is always the most difficult. I really do need to practice writing more these days, especially with my hand. I'd probably do worst of the writing section because I'm terrible at finding time to practice writing when I'm learning outside of a group class setting.

      Listening is tricky! It helps to practice speaking more and watching more media. Good luck!
