Those lake effect snows are brutal. But we know how to prepare and EVERYONE helps each other. That’s why Buffalo is called the City of Good Neighbors.

It's not as extreme as they make it out to be. These storms last 6 hrs to 4 days. If you don't have to go out, STAY HOME! Let the road crews work.
We have enough warning to get prepared and be ready to stay put.

This type of winter weather was commonplace when I was growing up in the region in the '70s and '80s. The only difference back then is that sensationalistic media wasn't nearly as loud as it is now.

So many life-threatening scenarios in this climate. Hypothermia, drownings, car accidents, falling icicles (power lines, tree branches), slipping on the ice injuries, fires, heart attacks..... just to name a few. May God keep you safe!

For the benefit of whoever made this video, the town is spelled "Hamburg", not "Hambrug". Heavy snow in these parts each winter is typical, yet the media is acting like it's a 1/100 year event.

    • @Trash_Boat007

This stormed dropped just over 81 inches of snow. I’ve had to go to school in 15 inches lol. But if a place doesn’t have the infrastructure to deal with it that’s where major problems arise. Plus we had that major blizzard here on Christmas which was genuinely even worse. Sadly over 49 people died here from that blizzard, very tragic.
