You have to laugh at the irony of the rugby world’s greatest brand. We built a reputation through wordless deeds and action, now we’ve become the biggest talkers in the rugby world, got more in touch with our feelings and identity, grown those learnings like a garden full of weeds. These players have shone at all the preceding levels, so they’re unlikely to be lacking ability. And yet as the All Blacks they look a poorer team every time the list of buzzwords gets a new addition. There’s a lot of energy going into marketing the idea there’s a lot of thinking involved (“process”, “review”, “core roles”, “Skills going forward”, “identifying opportunities to respond”, “Themes”). On the field they simply look a poor team, either lacking an understanding of how they will play as a unit, or being uncomfortable doing so.
McCaw would have gotten stuck into his teammates during the game and lead them to battle. There is none of that with this team, they look like they’re doing a bare minimum to keep their job like a 9 to 5’er.

Strategy should be that the head coach have the game plan and even a plan B and C and those under him see that those ideas are practiced/ rehearsed. ABs will come back. Lost alot of experience after the world cup. Alot of inexperienced players blooded as a result. 3 wins 1 loss. 75%, not a disaster I'd say. Argentina were phenomenal but the ABs withstood the challenge until the last stages of the game. I'd imagine there will be changes for the 2nd test. I'd say Jordy Barrett, Blackadder, TJ, DMac and Reese will lost their starting positions. ABs have been in a hole since Foster took over. Gonna take a while to dig their way out of it but Razor will do it. He's done it before and he'll do it again
you hit the nail on the head. AB's lost some cornerstones in players like Smith, Retallick and Whitelock. These players were battle hardened and extremely experienced. There's a significant drop off to TJ Perenara and the inexperienced locks like Darry and Vaa'i. In hindsight it turnes out that the harsh criticism of Ian Foster was unjustified. He actually did a great job as headcoach.
Seriously, time to accept that you are just not the best team in the world anymore, you are just one of the top teams. Playing rugby against yourselves in Super rugby is not how you progress. South Africa in the URC and European cup paying dividend's, with all the International competition against the best teams in the world, with such different styes. Razor a club rugby coach, out of his dept.. Argentina deserved the win, they were better and did their homework.
The AB’s are split into small groups with their own coaching staff, however it appears their is a lack of coordination between these smaller groups and coaches. The is also the fact that contracted players won’t be dropped because NZR don’t have the money to replace out of form players, so the just persevere with what they’ve got regardless.

This is a classic example of paralysis of analysis ! It seems the emphasis is about owning and taking responsibility. Maybe inadvertently players are not feeling comfortable playing when the environment and performance is so intently scrutinized. I mean who wants to play under that type of regime.
Small adjustments, a few positional changes and boom AB's beat Argies by 40 points but its still masks the real problem - 7 to 8 players are not up for this level of rugby

Can't blame it all on the players. They each have something special & dynamic, that's why they're chosen but as soon as the coaches muffle them with their non working setplays then they lose their shine! Coaches need to utilise the players strengths, put them in the right positions & give them several game plans to suit what's happening on the field. Train them in a way that uses the guys strengths & to know the oppositions weaknesses to know how counteract them. Time to face it. Super Rugby isnt spitting out world class players like it used to. While comps in other parts of the world are prepping players for test rugby. There are too many players that are not smart enough under pressure. Skill execution, under pressure, has been an issue since 2019.
- Kick-off receptions/Exiting the 22 - Kicking game in no-mans land. Making kicks contestable. - Tries vs penalties: kicking to the corner instead of points. - Ruthless mentality vs Offering too much respect
To be honest the level of expectations from NZ is pretty toxic when it comes to the All Blacks. Like the boys start performing on the level of every other international team a few games and they get scrutinised like be realistic, even champions have to lose every now and then that’s how growth is actually made

Phrases like: 'the quality of our skillset' 'the execution of our goals' the 'components of the game, our synergy' and 'learnings' mean absolutely nothing. If that's how they talk to the players, when the realities of a game consist: of tactics at the breakdown, tactics at lineouts, tactics in backline passing and positioning, tactics getting out of your own half, tactics when kicking, etc, etc, then no wonder the players look lost. The man sounded like a management manual, not a sports coach.
This staff coaching will be sacked fast.. bad appointment by fédération nz.
But jamie Joseph vern cotter are under contract with fédération nz. Good news to replace them.
This interview was too painful.
first words from scott henson " honest review , honest Conversations..." at the end of the 2nd test against the argies , AB's won 42 - 10 , Well done Scott Henson, keep up the good work , keep doing what your doing Mr Scott Henson as you contribute to making AB's a better unit with your clear messaging to the boys
Why the fk would they share their tactics you numpty
It’s like listening to a rugby version of a politician.
They hire the same type of PR company as politicians so it’s not a surprise. Media training for AB’s… Colin Meads rolls in his grave.
the speak from Razor and Scott after the game is weird.. If the team is trying to interpret this messaging no wonder there's problems.

Not just you mate, there no intention behind it. Just kicked to escape pressure just to be back under pressure. It made no sense 😂
Say how it is Scott, happy with the comments . Good to see us AB fans being humbled.
He sounds confused with the amount of dribble coming out of his mouth... imagine how confused the players must be 😮
@@bokudesu3280 Does he sound confused? Or are you confused that the ABs lost?
What did he say exactly?
Don't confuse fans with supporters! Fans are only here when they win, but true supporters, support win or lose! We need losses to build depth and any supporter knows that takes time, it takes losses and takes the team to a place where they can evolve. We have become to comfortable with the same style for years and the fact is the rest of the world has caught up, it's now up to the coaches and players to adapt the mindset of test level and forget super rugby as we all know test level is a completely different beast. All in all congratulations to Argentina they played brilliantly and it's up to us to learn from this and work toward more depth
@@SamzM429 This is all true and also nothing new. As a supporter you’d know we have been in this particular position for foo long. We’ve played the same style for far too long. This new coaching staff have talked themselves up in a big way, let’s see if they can deliver a game plan first. You’re correct this will take some time to fix as it’s a mess.
Hi
Here as a Springbok fan...New Zealand Rugby as a whole are such hypocrites. They first argue that they want less scrums in the game as there is apparently no flow and that time is being wasted. Now they wanted more scrums to have taken part in their previous game. Make up your minds!!! This is what you get if you attack the way South Africa plays the game and constantly changing the rules to suit you. New Zealand and Australia and becoming teams no one fears anymore, especially coming from the Springboks 😂
😂 Almost beat SA with 14 men in WC final mate. But, yep, our game has been hijacked from within....
Yep you’re probably right in what you say with the rules but write us off and you may well get touched up as has happened in the past ..
That said we are far from a force but time will tell ..Rome wasn’t built in a day as they say
@@stephenbaylis6743 But the fact of the matter is that you still couldn't beat us in a final mate. Can't wait for you guys to come to SA for 2 games. We will show you guys how to play rugby!!

Amazing to see how people are turning on Razor and his team so quickly. I backed Foster in his era and I back Razor now. Progress should be measured over a period of time, not by 4 games.
We thrashed Argentina 44-6 less than 12 months ago. This team has gone backwards in less than a year.

One thing I don't understand is that for a team that lost at the Rugby world cup final how could they npt have used that to motivate and tp put that behind them to get the win
Commit to tackle like your life depends on it, don't throw stupid passes. Learn to sometimes control the pace of the game. Become a team
Yep. THAT is what a traditional AB team should be like 👍
And that's from South African...
They are playing Super rugby not test rugby.
Is it me or is it my imagination that Ardie is not playing with the dominant force he was last year. Hès not playing his beast and brutal game. Is that something to do with his shift to Moana Pasifika? I love Ardie and if he's punishing defenses the All Blacks go good. Respect to Argentina.
What a brilliant comment, you sir have absolutely hit the nail on the head. Once we were warriors.
McCaw would have gotten stuck into his teammates during the game and lead them to battle. There is none of that with this team, they look like they’re doing a bare minimum to keep their job like a 9 to 5’er.
Nothing against TJ, but using another 9 would be sorting out half of your issues and personally I think focus on your defense, nothing wrong with the ABs attack but they leaking too many soft points remember defense win you cups...
R. Van Heerden
Yup, TJ is done. To slow when making decisions, and taking options. Slow kick, slow pass. Sloooooooow 🐌
Razor has a Fozzie like start to his career and has underperforming coaches like MacDonald and still questions around McLeod.
Choice holland McDonald proves that Razor has not international expérience.

The forwards need to muscle up,they were very weak.Backs can't play without quick ball as well.
The AB pack is not feared by no county. Needs a leader that can hold the pack together and be a ball carrier.

Strategy should be that the head coach have the game plan and even a plan B and C and those under him see that those ideas are practiced/ rehearsed. The Arg game in my opinion was lost due to lack to adapt and play what's in front of you, poor scrum half performance and basic passing and line out throw errors.
Would have a revised back field for the Pumas, Get these guys where they play best
9-Ratima
10-Barret
11-Ioane
12-ALB

You see it, I see it, every schoolboy player and coach sees it.. but apparently when you coach a national team you have to be different and apply some whacked out theories about why we should pick inferior players and play them out of position. Mind blowing stuff.
Word salads done win matches..
Why do they think they would have won the scrums? What an arrogant bunch
I dont know man.. With the coaching staff that this side has, the AB's still looked short of ideas to combat.the rush defense of the Puma. Having had that defense recently with England, where were the improvements.? Argentina look solid as a group and very cohesive in attack. Combined with their passion, they're gonna.feel confident about their game plan and its success. Hope Razor and all the staff can address.the issues in.a week..

Nothing worse for coaches and Captains to give these interviews after an unexpected loss. The expectations amongst the fans of the top 5 teams are ridiculous considering it's only a game. The All Black fans are so used to winning and think this should be the status quo in perpuity and are probably the most unrealistic of the lot.
But it’s expected, not unexpected. NZ has had a rough few years. Also in ‘98, ‘94 we had rough times.
A smart team wanting more scrums, will not play the knock on advantage, especially in your own half. If NZ had super rugby, then what competition do the Pumas play in now?
Its twice now that new coaching group said they need to prepare better. Have serious doubt from the start apart from Ryan that the rest are not international ready.
The forwarda are not performing. THAT is Ryans job.

@@wolfgangdurst267He had better cattle to work with. No wonder razor is trying to get overseas based players back.
Can we get the Sevu Reece that roves the field looking for the ball. The Ab Reece is the total opposite from this seasons Crusaders version...
Seriously, time to accept that you are just not the best team in the world anymore, you are just one of the top teams. Playing rugby against yourselves in Super rugby is not how you progress. South Africa in the URC and European cup paying dividend's, with all the International competition against the best teams in the world, with such different styes. S.A. going forward, NZ. going backwards. You should have made Schmitt head coach, obviously it was him and not Foster who brought the team to the hights at the WC.
I suspect that’s a huge issue. You’re on contract so job done.

W've heard the All Blacks is the best team in the world, best players in the world, get all the top money and the attention, SERIOUSLY??? You've let the country down. The ABs should have a look at Dame Lisa Carrington and learn from her, she doesn't get all the money and the attention that she deserves but she won't let the country down. Get over yourselves.
Razor spends too much time playing tv superstar coach and trying to be likeable but not concentrating on his coaching!!!

Time to face it. Super Rugby isnt spitting out world class players like it used to. While comps in other parts of the world are prepping players for test rugby. There are too many players that are not smart enough under pressure. Skill execution, under pressure, has been an issue since 2019.
- Kick-off receptions/Exiting the 22
- Kicking game in no-mans land. Making kicks contestable.
- Tries vs penalties: kicking to the corner instead of points.
- Ruthless mentality vs Offering too much respect
We need discussions not conversations
To be honest the level of expectations from NZ is pretty toxic when it comes to the All Blacks. Like the boys start performing on the level of every other international team a few games and they get scrutinised like be realistic, even champions have to lose every now and then that’s how growth is actually made
