How to Reset or Recalibrate a New Style Maytag Top Load Washing Machine (2022-Current)

  • If you own a newer (2022-current) top load Whirlpool washing machine, the reset/recalibration is notably different than nearly-identical Maytag topload washing machines made from 2010 - 2021.
    The dials are slightly different, but the reset and recalibration process is massively different. It still remains just as critical to do this after installing a part, or if the unit acts funny, so learning how to do this is super helpful.

    Well, after enduring my old Bertha which was beyond noisy and finished with rust and busted suspension rods (Maytag Neptune duo “Almond”) I purchased LGs. LGTL7150 and matching dryer. I am AMAZED by their absolute silent functioning, amazing! Also, I compared in kilowatts consumed. These LG’s take almost 50% less energy than my old Bertha! I can only hope they last for 2300$!

    • @bensappliancesandjunk
      @bensappliancesandjunk  5 месяцев назад +2

      The newest LGs tend to be quite remarkable, and I highly recommend them. They are about the most reliable on the market, but that's not saying much because pretty much all modern washing machines have a nose-dive in quality. However, like you said - water/electricity consumption is so much better now, that in SOME cases, the loss in reliability may be made up in efficiency. But that always is up to getting something that will last 10-15 years instead of 5-7, and LG on average is better than other brands right now.

    • @BuckMorel

      Whirlpool had a service technician come over today for my brand new piece of junk that doesn't clean your clothes.... Been hearing a lot about these speed queens... Is it the real deal ? I've heard rumors of no lid lock safety BS, fills up the washer with plenty of water... Actually agitates and cleans your clothes... Is it true?

    • @Lauterec
      @Lauterec 5 месяцев назад +1

      @@BuckMorel It's all true. I kid you not, I had 3 DOA Whirlpools and finally the salesmen fessed up that it wasn't a reliable model. Had a speed queen delivered to my door for $1300 and it's been wonderful. It's basically just a modern looking washer with 1970's technology from what I understand, which is good for reliability. They use a bit more water but the clean is better. Haven't needed a single repair so far and it's been about 5 years. It's paired alongside my 1986 Kenmore dryer and if that ever fails it will be replaced with a Speed Queen as well.

    I tried two brand new ones of this model. It’ll do small loads no problem. Mid size to large loads, it gets almost all the way through then stops. Sounds like the drains going but the two far left lights flash together and the rinse/fill flashes after. And then I have to put it on the drain cycle and it finishes it. Help????

      Had the same issue. It simply cannot handle anything more than small loads after about a year. Kills the motor/transmission then its all downhill from there with weird problems. Couldn't do a single comforter or even slightly medium load towards the end.
      Totally stopped working again today.

    Hey Ben
    I am getting a new house and really want to save money by buying a kitchen appliance and washer and dryer package on aj madison, which would you recommend please? I have no idea where to start

    • @bensappliancesandjunk
      @bensappliancesandjunk  5 месяцев назад +2

      Kitchen packages are hard, because there's no mfg. that really makes everything great anymore.
      If I had to choose one brand and made sure it didn't have in-door ice, I think Electrolux/Frigidaire would be the best all around. None of it is going to be stellar, but its not going to be like LG with a super suspect refrigerator (unless you're looking @ a side by side, then LG may be a fantastic recommendation).
      The other one would be GE. Not a fan of their dishwashers, but stoves/fridges are probably the best on average.
