    The matrix analogy was spot on, people become so dependent on the system that they will fight to defend that system which is enslaving them, here in America it is all too common

    The philosophy and ideas expressed here should be taught to everyone, so much wisdom and clarity brought to the table here. The act of being compassionate to yourself is most key, chastising ourselves for failing keeps us from learning from the lesson and moving forward with balance. Let's all keep moving forward with balance 🙏

    Great video bro, you made a really life changing point which is “whatever we resist, persists”
    Which implies we shouldnt put much importance on anything and realise the control belongs to God, and we must strive to be postive as much as we can

    Almost 10 years ago I was in a haunted house. I was sort of always ready to punch someone or intentionally shout back when someone jumps on me. At most I was a bit nervous. I think to a slight degree, people should have that mindset when they catch themselves or others trying to circumvent their actions for the lesser. It takes time but mastering your actions during fight or flight moments can go a long way. This is nowhere near real violence in any sense.

    I'm not an affiliate, just really helpful book. Atomic habits by James Clear. Using the knowledge from this book i was able to meditate for a month now, train calisthenics thrice a week (for 2 moths) and do everyday morning exercise. It will help you to become more aware of your habits and make it much more easier to change them.
    Great video Grant. Thanks man. Good luck❤

    Love what your bringing with the videos, I have the bad habit of spreading myself too thin and train and do things that I think would help me become a better martial artist and I’m realizing, like you said, that I’m distracting myself from the actual goal or skill I’m trying to develop and it’s working against me, I need to step back and focus on the skill set and nothing else, I’ve been training for 30 years and I find a ton of inspiration in your content, and I admire your technique and speed, very impressive

    Very useful to hear about different perspectives and talk about these so important things, which seem small but make huge impact on our lives. Many of the paradigms people use still today are coming from a very distant era to the past I believe. Fears passed from one generation to the other. Humanity really needs a spiritual revolution. Working on overcoming past trauma and be the individuals we dream of. A totally different approach to life, instead of the current defensive/reactive approach. We need empathy, understanding and self-respect. Great video man, I support these conversations ✌️

      100% dude! The part you said about these paradigms being of the past. It’s old shit that doesn’t work anymore… in fact never did in the first place

      @@grantstevensma yes, maybe it served survival purpose, but maybe not and it was entirely serving an ego. Glad we finally start to notice that something is not well in all of this. It needs courage to dispel the norms, which are collective fear. Like elections, fear mentality has taken too many votes over the years and so it becomes the norm in some areas of life. But, life can be so much more magical on the other side, beyond the walls. Vision and courage to differentiate and bring your authentic self.

    Great video. Can you explain how you meditate? Do you try and keep your conscious quite or think about your behaviors thanks.

    • @grantstevensma
      @grantstevensma  Год назад +2

      Essentially all I do is sit in silence and completely relax my body, then when thoughts come I recognise they’re thoughts and ‘sink back’ to the sense of self underneath. The sense “I exist” is always before all thoughts and is who/what we really are so I just keep coming back to that and do my best not to get lost in the mental narrative going on.
      The goal of this is basically to recognise and then not identify with any mind activity. Because meditation is a concentrated practice where you remove certain senses such as vision and hearing to a degree, this makes it much easier to do in that time and then I try take that that into daily waking life
