- In this video, Jason takes us through the various nuances that help differentiate our Standard line of instruments from our Custom line. While both the Standards and Customs are crafted by the same team using the same materials, each line has unique attributes for every kind of player.

well this is quite simple.
custom: very expensive
standard: expensive
Finally got my Emperor 6 Standard. Well worth the investment. Thank you, Fodera!
Foderas are great sounding instruments, for sure.... But they are super pricey.
you can't really put a 'but' in a sentence about the rolls royce of basses. you pay for quality. that can't be a complaint. you dont look at a mansion and go 'ah its nice but its expensive' when thats the entire idea - youre paying for a luxury item not meant to be cheap, or else the quality would not be the best in class in the world. its like complaining about a hamburger being 'too meaty'
@@JWhitty So im gonna say this... I personally have nothing against the price of Fodera instruments. I'd even love to own one someday, but my current bass, which is a Ernie Ball MusicMan Stingray sounds fantastic and plays fantastic and cost 1/3 of the Fodera and is also made here in the U.S. I feel like if your gonna get a Fodera, go for the custom.. the standards are amazing I'm sure, but for that kind of money you might as well get something as unique as you can imagine. :)
1.- why is the 18th space on the custom bass fingerboard slightly darker?
2.- why are the pickup exposed poles on the custom basses never truly flush with the pickup cover?
Owner of a Monarch Standard 5 and I absolutely love it to bits! Always wondered this and thanks for the clarification :D
What are the pros and cons of going directly through Fodera vs going through a dealer?
I'm getting a custom made. Let me just sell my house first.
i want one but i have $20 in my pocket
Brandon Inu haha same
ohhh :0, incredible :D
I wonder how the overall prices would change if they weren't voluntarily made in hipster central and moved to say... anywhere with lower cost of production.
Imagine being this douchebag 😂
my monarch deluxe select was worth every penny.
Very interesting
What wrong with the volume of the video?
Ah - no worries on your video. My headset is becoming old and is not working not well anymore.
one day ill have mine too :)
I couldn't spend that much on a bass with a string tree =(
bass better be able to play itself for the prices they ask tho xD
I don’t know that it’s worth it for real I like the sound of my American elite jazz bass better for real and it was less than half the cost of there standard
Fodera need to bring out a budget range cause no one can afford a standard, nevermind a custom. For the price of a standard (3,000) I could get a decent top notch Spector with custom spe. Come on Fodera help us out, money we ain't got
And now to have chat with Roger Sadowsky. Roger!....Roger!
@@richardscottoakes4027 he has the Metro line though, doesn't he? but even those are flipping expensive. haha
Standards 4 years later, doubled in price
Bull shit you don’t need to buy over price bass , if you buy $700 bass change pickups and setup the neck you got high quality bass
why does it take so long to make a custom? I understand it takes time to carve and get the electrics but I've seen inexperienced carvers make a basic bass in around that much time without help
Well too bad you guys only make bass guitars for rich people! Us poor folk can never have a bass you make!
save. save for years. the amount of balking about price on these videos is unbelieable
$$
If you real want a bass as high quality as this that is similar but cost less than there standard and is full custom check out Supra basses man they are sick you can check them out on bass the world they thought so highly of the call them the holy grail of basses and a full custom is under 3k with a couple option and just over for a crazy spec and Tomasz is a super cool dude nothing against fodera but no bass should cost 14k that’s why Janek gwizdala moved on Vic who is a family friend so much that he answers my cousins call on thanksgiving says if he wasn’t getting paid he’d play something else same goes for hartke. Still if I could id get a fodera it’s like owning a Ferrari
Now do expensive vs afford...
Just remembered. You don't make affordable instruments.
Look for used. You might be surprised at how affordable they can be, especially for some of the older, more basic models.
90% of people just can not afford foderas nothing against you guys but boy they are big big money for the normal working class person you need to make afordable basses
theyre not made for working class people. working class people are obviously not professional bassists and dont need a professional instrument. now if youre gigging and living off your music, this is for you. its like saying that mercedes needs to make a line of cars for walmart workers. seriously??
@@JWhitty "working class people are OBVIOUSLY not professional bassists" ? WTF kinda logic is that bro? gigging and living off your music is the working man bassist.. they are usually the ones out there grinding weekend after weekend at the bars, sometimes during the week, etc. hustling to get the gigs. Now as far as the Fodera goes.. They are totally unnecessary, no one NEEDS a Fodera. A fender USA P or Jazz bass can easily get the job done while still being high quality and sounding great.. but just that line I quoted from you, I don't agree with.
It's just one of their marketing strategies. If they start making affordable basses, they're brand-name will be not as lofty
