    Is this still effective if I do it without flexing my hands? Thank you!

    • @essentricsworkout
      @essentricsworkout  Год назад

      Although it will be easier to recruit some of your arm muscles with your hands flexed, thinking of elongating between your body and your wrist even without flexing at the wrists will be very effective. We do not want you to feel any pinching or pain in your wrists or arms so only flex your hands if you can do so without pain or discomfort.

    • @essentricsworkout
      @essentricsworkout  4 года назад +1

      Hi there! You can do the routine as many times as you would like -- even every day of the week! Because it is so gentle & respectful to the body, it does not require a "rest period" in between workouts. Happy Stretching :)

    Are those exercises good for tendonitis? or they will make them worse?

    • @essentricsworkout
      @essentricsworkout  5 лет назад +2

      Thank you so much for reaching out to us, Ebrahim! We’d love to help you understanding the underlying mechanisms of our technique!
      The Essentrics technique is so beneficial for anyone suffering from tendinitis or bursitis. Our technique was scientifically designed to rehydrate your connective tissue through the rotational movement of your entire body; it was designed to make you move in every plane of direction possible. It is this movement and rebalancing of your entire body - of the entity of your connective tissue; your fascia, ligaments and tendons - that gradually leads to pain-relief and the release of any stiffness. Often, we think that stiffness in one area will be relieved by working that area specifically, but this idea is quite misleading. You must work the entity to eventually realign your muscles, get the healing nutrients flowing everywhere and melt buildup of “fuzz” within the layers of your connective tissue.

  • @CamdenSmithNaples

    It's rare for me to post negative reviews. This seems like it would be a great arm workout if you have flexibility. But if you lift a lot of weights like I do and I have a really tight shoulders from some shoulder damage, honest to God I only felt this in my shoulders using every single muscle I had, I find that doing lightweights like 3 pounds or Tracy Anderson's arms seem to work my full arm more. All I felt was shoulder cramps and that was with my shoulders rollback and down. Guess it's just not for me

    • @essentricsworkout
      @essentricsworkout  7 лет назад +5

      Hi Camden, thank you for your feedback. If you have tight, muscles in some places more than others you should focus on more of the gentle released workouts to rebalance your shoulders before doing the toning exercises. You are right, in that it will only target your shoulders, because your shoulders are used to over working. In order to effectively target your arms you will need to retrain your shoulders to release, relax and then lengthen! We have more gentle style toning for arms in our Toning for Beginners workouts that teach you how to effectively target and engage the correct musculature. We definitely don't encourage students to work through any tightness or pain.

  • @lazur1
    @lazur1 9 лет назад +1

    Leanness can only be achieved with diet. Long muscles are genetic; if you weren't born with you'll never have them. Same for a "dancers body". If you look a lot like this girl already, the exercises might make you look a bit more like her. Otherwise, nope.

    • @lazur1
      @lazur1 9 лет назад

      ***** I'm lean&fit, at 65yrs old. Muscles do not "get longer". There are only 2 aspects of muscle-length. Both are genetic:1/Attachment-to-attachment length depends on the length of bone running parallel to muscle. This includes the muscle-belly & the tendons attached to the bone. There's probably no argument about this, unless someone thinks bones also get longer from exercise. 2/More open to misunderstanding & argument, & more commonly referred to, muscle-length refers to the muscle-belly alone. Biceps are the best muscle to use for explanation: Biceps can be peaked, flat, short, long, & all shapes & lengths in between. The longer the tendon, the shorter the belly. This can't be changed, except by surgery, or injury. If you look thru the photo-history of any athlete, (or any person), you'll find that, no matter how many types of training they went thru over the years, from yoga to weightlifting, no matter how much weight they gained or lost, no matter how much bigger or smaller their biceps became, their biceps remained the same shape, the same length. Dancers looked like dancers before they ever danced. They look better if they exercise, but are still the same body-type either way. If they eat like pigs they get fat, no matter how much yoga or Pilates they do. If they eat properly, they get lean. (Not "lean muscles". Muscles are made of muscle: They're _all_ lean.) Some women are obsessed with slimness. What they interpret as a "longer, leaner" muscle, is, unfortunately, actually a _loss_ of muscle, a _smaller_ muscle. I guess they're happy with it; muscle's heavy, lost muscle = lost weight. But it's not really a good thing. Muscular women should ignore fashion & revel in their thickness.These are anatomical facts. Go ahead & argue.

      Im YuOh, for heaven's sake, could you be any more patronizing?Most of us watching this aren't idiots. We've read Miranda Esmonde-White's work on Essentrics & do these exercises not because we think we're going to miraculously wake up one morning with a long, lean "dancer's body" (really: how stupid do you think women are, anyway?), but because they help with our posture, flexibility, toning & pain relief. Here's a suggestion: make your own videos and stop wasting my time trying to prove what an expert you are on *this* one.

      "Leanness can only be achieved with diet." Then it must the completely different diet that makes an olympic gymnast have a completely different body from a ballet dancer.
