"need a specific wrench" you have a water-jet, just cut out your own wrench
This was my comment to every difficulty we had. . . "Can't we just pivot the head and cut this?"
Apparently "No" is almost always the answer.
@@LewisFausettManagement I don't want to be the weird person that's overly exited for comments, but I have to say that this is the first time that I have gotten a response from someone in the video. Although it's not the channel of the original video, this is cool and i'm not complaining. So not trying to be weird but, thanks for responding, it's cool that you did!
@@purpledragon372 hey man I was ur 30th like congrats
Theres not enough brain power there
Agreed
It’s like My Summer Car, but in reverse.
A supra with a rolls v8?
@@snikwad003 I need to see that
Intake manifolds don't need "cooling"... they use the engine heat to pre-heat the intake charge when it's cold weather. Heated intake charge also improved MPG and exhaust emissions.
For mpg and emissions, yes, but who cares about that? If you want power colder intake temperatures are the way to go.
@@svetko05 Agreed that cooler intake charge means more density, but you can't get cooler intake charge by cooling with the engine coolant system. BTW, I totally disagree about disrespecting the only environment we have... that's like intentionally pouring poison in the water you drink. Others have to have a liveable environment after you're through with it!
I wanna see that 2jz swap when it’s done.
We're about 60 days out, and doing updates every week! You should come check it out. We're hoping to get it out to some car shows around the country once this whole Panddemic thing is over.
So painful as a RR collector to see these young Ignoramus‘ chaps absolutely destroy this RR engine!😭😩😭😩
NO KIDDING - so many would love to have a rebuildable block or crank etc.
Putting a Toyota motor in a vintage Rolls Royce is blasphemy.
David Chadwell I’m gonna put a rr mustang engine in a Toyota supra now just to spite these guys
There is a Tesla powered Rolls Royce ! Is that blasphemy? What about the ICON Derelict V8 race motor Rolls conversion ? They basically built a street rod chassis that perfectly fit under a Rolls body.
The algorithm apparently didn't like this video. Weird. I am subbed with notifications and didn't see this video until 2 days after it posted.
Shocking how powerful water is.
That plunger in the carb is vacuum operated by the opposite carb. Essential letting the carbs run the exact same without needing to constantly tune and tweak them.
Wow insane on 100k views!!!!!!????? As soon as i saw this it was the most eye popping title to me
Yall just cut 40k in half smfh that engine is rare and could have been sold
That's what i said why tho makes no sense u bet they won't get any where near that of views
It's their engine & they can do what they want with it.
it was already ruined
@@BobMonkeypimp an we can also ? Why. Lol so ha
@BladeCast lol ok dude what ever helps u sleep at night.
Who else thought they were gonna cut the whole engine in half 😢
We hoped so, but alas it was too big
It might as well be seized up, it should be a lot easier to turn without the heads on
Yeah it definitely hasn't run for ~4 years. So somethings wrong. The solution to not engine swap it was a rebuild which is about $3K
Donate it to a local high school auto shop class.
Hey so are you guys still on the clock while you're doing all this?
They own the waterjet and it's solely a RUclips waterjet. I'm on the clock for my day job usually when I'm in videos dropping stuff off to Craig (I also happen to be an owner in my day job so it's pretty hard to fire me)
Hey men, were is the WESTSHOP boys to help you with the engine pull down, great video 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🦘🦘🦘🦘
What kind of job does this guy have where his wife could just nonchalantly say “oh no I don’t want an Audi r8” 🙄🤦♂️🙄
To be fair a ~2008 Audi R8 is cheaper than a new Full Sized Truck, but I have a good job. I sell rings on the internet @ Patrick Adair Designs
This makes me sad :(
This wasn’t as good as it could’ve been
They did put a shit ton of effort in it so you better fuckin appreciate it.

Water vs steel who will win

Fyi, all but the outer two thinner studs should be removed before head removal. It's a pain in the ass.😂🤣
OMFG WHAT THE HELL R U GUYS DOING TO A ROLLS MOTOR ?????????
That's a lot of rust
This thing can cut through a metal engine but not the table wtf is that table made of
You should have restored that engine rather than cutting it.
Why not 1UZ swap?
Who the hell is Lewis ?
Not sure, but I was a little surprised when he started talking about his wife.
😢 how could you
This is awesome!!!!
I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Why don't you get a taller waterjet?
From a Toyota?? Hahah in a rr??
Just trying to ruin peoples lives
Maan... Why 😢 just cut în half, God damn.. Dissapointed.
Lewis is a bit of a bizarre individual. Why does he refer to himself in third person?
Mkkkkkkkkaaa
Love yr vids
Me too
Noooooo....
I'm upset to. This was the worst experience I've ever had at the mechanic
The 2JZ sucks, and anyone who uses it as a swap are just as bad as LS swappers
The 2JZ is garbage. Just like the LS. But you gotta do what you can with what you have
Could you cut open a sparkplug?
As far as I have seen mentioned, they have apparently a complex layering of various materials in order to get a seal from ceramics to steel.
I'd enjoy seeing this.
I'd also like to see this, different temperature ranges would be good to see, hotter plugs should look very different inside to colder ones
the ceramic would not survive, nor would you be able to see the layers.
@@cncgeneral Nah, they'd look the same. It's mainly the spark gap that affects plug temps.
I have broken open a spark plug before and I did not see layers, just a metal electrode going all the way down the center. But it was just a simple moped spark plug. May be different in some Bosch BMW plug
Lewis is gonna wake up tomorrow with like 15K new subs overnight. Patrick better up his game lol
I know some of the videos he has planned. My work is going to be cut out for me

How to make a V8 into an inline 4!
Yes an you can make 2 engines out of 1😁

The Pontiac Tempest had a 4 cylinder that was basically the left half of their v8
We're just trying to save weight for the next track day. . . .
smart!
Speaking as an old Rolls mechanic here in America, I can tell you that you have a lot of good parts there.
Do you want them? Patrick is going to make a table out of the block, but if there's something specific you want off of it dm me. (Tho I'm sure most of the parts are garbage now . . . :) )
Great video guys! Many YT channels experiencing a big crash of views. Good ole YT must've changed the algorithm once again.
yup

Those are constant velocity carbs. You see them on motorcycles a lot. The butterfly valve is controlled by the throttle cable, the round slide is controlled by vacuum.
There is a tapered needle that seats in a fuel orifice that's in the path of the intake.
The fast moving air creates a vacuum in the space in the bell above the round slide, sucking it up away from the fuel orifice.
As the needle is tapered the more it is withdrawn the more fuel is allowed into the intake airstream.
@@alisdairherd9501 See this is why we need someone like you able to facetime in and explain what we don't know. . . .
That's really cool. We were trying to figure out how it worked
I have a 2jz engine that ill sell to him!!!
You make me sick doing that😭
That engine had problems, it shouldn't be that difficult to turn the crank especially with half the valves missing
I honestly think it turned out cooler this way. This car was actually produced at a decent volume and now there's a cross-section of the engine back at the dealership, and we get to make a very cool car.
So I know one of the issues was it needed new carburetors. The thing is, you can get one of these engines working for ~$6,000 USD on ebay. There's not a shortage of them by any means.
We just were going to junk it but thought this was a better use.
It's just a shitty pushrod V8 with twin single barrel carbs... 6.7L and probably put out less than 200hp. Also it's not even rare. At least the car get to live again with a new heart.
@@LewisFausettManagement clean it up, all of it. Put the parts in a parts cleaner, get it nice and clean, paint it nice, and display it. That could look like a really cool display or show piece. Get a nice gear-reduced crank on it too, so people can turn it!
What happened to the lick test intern??
That’s a good question
Yeah, what was that guy's name again?
Make sure you completely dry it before putting it all back together so it won’t hydrolock 😂
Awe man, of all the engines out there! Why? Why?
It was probably old and didn’t work anymore
I don't know enough about old carbed engines, but either the slidey bit or the butterfly is the choke, while the other is throttle. I'm guessing the slider is choke since I don't see where the throttle cable would connect.
Yeah I have an old engine manual on my computer. I should have studied it before we filmed, but I mean, where's the fun in that?
Did Westshop give up on doing videos?
That "disassembly" hurt to watch
Trust me, it hurt to be a part of.
Great video guys, thank you!
P.S. I think you may have engendered some mechanical butthurt with this video...Lol!
I think if there's one thing we're good at its making people triggered. . . .
@@LewisFausettManagement, Keep on doing it Lewis, it's hilarious!
Head studs from factory.. hell yeah
Will you teach me how to kick flip?
@@LewisFausettManagement yes flip the skateboard up vertical.. then sit on it
I know that yall usually have unconventional ways of disassembling things but I have never seen someone use a reciprocating saw to take apart an engine.

Shhh we still haven't been caught yet
I think they've cut Stepdad Barnes into little pieces with the waterjet. No sign of him.
And didnt make a video about it???
@@sinom_00 I think it was only for Patreons.
No joke when I was 4 I asked my dad a very skilled mechanic what the governor was on my four wheeler and he fed me that story and I think I believed it until I was 7. It was more like why can’t I go as fast as you?????
How come I didn't see you using the Waterjet Channel Limited Edition Kid-Tested Mother Approved Astronaut Endorsed Ultra Lightweight Aerospace Grade Titanium Bottle Opener 10mm Wrench Multi-tool Keychain to get the engine apart? Can't it do everything???
I think they must have lied to us. . . .
Waterjet channel can I possibly have the valve cover off of y’all? If so please reply and we can swap info and I’ll pay for shipping
I've got the valve covers in the back of my truck. Let's make a deal
Those SU carbs are some kind of black magic.
It's official Rolls Royce is ran by witches
Now you guys can come up with a new product to ship out, DIY reassamble an engine. Meccano for legends
I'm actually upset about this
Me too
4 rotor swap it
surely this engine is not rebuildable, otherwise cutting it in half is galactically STUPID - theres only so many good used blocks and cranks etc. left-!!!????
That just pains the shit out of me
When we started the project they told me the standard is to just scrap the old engine. I thought at least this way we could get some enjoyment out of it
That engine would be cool to have for demonstrations
Yeah we're going to turn it into a table we think
Studded head's? Port's ondy intake looked sweet too. Think I would've put a hairdryer on that engine instead of a 2jz. Procharged big block chevrolet would've been more unique and way more power for less
I’m know a few white girls.
They don’t want a Porsche.
That comment while joking, I’m sure. Was still in poor taste.
A 2jz swapped rolls Royce, now that’s a crazy swap 😂
That's the goal. I want it to be the stupidest but coolest car. I think i'm on the right track
You would have made lots of money breaking it up and selling it for parts...seriously! That stuff just isn't made any more. That "stick" in the carb is a needle valve.
That is the fastest I have ever been motivated to subscribe to someone
I have a feeling Pain will be in my future. . .
"Why you left handed" lol
If you think getting those heads off is a royal pain, try getting the heads off a Jaguar V12. Same issue of the studs binding in the head, its just 2 more cylinders of fun.
You guys aren't the best mechanics but you sure are great at content!
I thought they were alright. I mean my engine is definitely worse than when I took it to them, but atleast now we know what's wrong with it.
That's is not a government of the engine its called a constant velocity carburetor and it works off vaccume . once the vaccume is achieved it forces that slide and needle valve up and balances the barometric intake pressures making the engine run more efficiently...
Jay Z car?
You should drained the tank to make enough space and lowered it in lads
I think this is a great idea, and I'm going to file a complaint with my supervisor because I want those hours of my life back
@@LewisFausettManagement do it my man 😂
I doubt the water jet would stay that focused all the way down, though
2:06 I almost lost an eye using a sawzall exactly like that.. Be careful man
We're really just trying to speed up darwinism around here
That's a shame, should have just cut up something stupid like a blown motor, not a RR v8.
I can't tell if this dude was joking when he said that the Audi R8 was an issue so he went to look at Porsche Panamera instead like that was normal, "let's get a car" talk.
So if Lewis is powering the engine, then it is 1 LP. 1 LEWIS POWER. NO 1 HORSE POWER.?
I understand this is all for science /fun, but seems a shame to destroy a rebuildable engine. :)
3:00 is when the cutting starts, for ya heathens who cant wait
Lame. If you are going to attempt something and stick it on the net, try to do it right.
I got a little excited when I read the thumb nail then It was a total let down.

This hurt to watch. But, it is from 1979, so the engine was probably shit, anyway.
I bet the reason the car wasn't in use was that the engine needed expensive repairs
@@bachaddict who would’ve guessed

I'm going to text Mitchell and ask why we've never considered this. I'm sure there's a real answer, but I'm with you
What a shame
I’m more interested in videos where people restore and fix stuff , not into cutting and destroying things , you don’t need any knowledge or expertise to do that … I can destroy Rolls Royce engine myself without a problem , try to rebuild and restore one … now, that would be interesting to watch … 👎
What’s with all the haters, it’s not even a Diesel engine they ruined. Lol
Hard to find parts for RR stuff especially when it's old
ok, so i saw bits of an engine cut, not a V8 cut like it said, bit misleading
That big round cylinder in the intake is the diaphragm.
Put the engine back in the car and try to bring it in for service. "My car is doing a weird noise any time I use the wipers. Oh, and it won't start."
That’s not how you say Porsche
. It’s Pronounced porsha
That plunger stick thingy is a choke mechanism.
