My 1978 D100 with a low compression 360, 340 X heads, hughes whiplash 340/360 cam, edelbrock rpm airgap, 1 5/8” hedman headers, and a brawler 650 double pumper.
Love your truck brother. I bough my first truck (82 d150 swb with a 360/4 speed) when i was 13 and iv loved mopar ever since. Iv got a 98 swb that im about to yank the 3.9 out of a do a magnum 360 in and im planning to do the magnum version of the whiplash cam/springs and i sure hope it runs as solid as yours. Sweet, sweet d150 you built 👌
Thanks! Hope your project goes well! The whiplash cam’s are awesome! This engine is actually back out of my truck and going into one of my dad’s barracuda’s and I’m getting ready to put a 408 stroker in my truck.
They’re not bad all all! But I do have the exhaust piped all the way to the rear bumper of the truck and the cab is insulated which helps a lot. The overdrive transmission helps a ton too. But it is incredibly loud when you smash the gas lol.
I’ve been pretty happy with this cam! Pulls great up to a about 5000 and then it starts to fall off but the midrange torque is great. Sounds wicked too!
I just recently had the top end redone on this engine, new valves, springs and adjustable rockers and this cam absolutely rocks! Pulls super hard all the way to 6k. I actually had to turn the limiter up on it.
@@jacobwhitt521 it makes great power! Love this cam. It is a hydraulic flat tappet. If you have a 5.9 magnum I believe they make make a hydraulic roller version buts it’s a bit less aggressive.
@@Dot-bs4yv it’s probably the combination of everything together I would guess. The cam is only 223°/ 236° at .050. The exhaust probably makes it sound snappier too because it has the x pipe.

Sounds mean!!!
Nice truck! Wish I had one! Keep her running!
Love the sound. Thinking of something similar for my 78 W200. Whats the drone like with the 12” Vibrants like when cruising?

@@RecklessEnterainment you got me thinking of this for my cammed 302. It had such a sweet shriek when you gassed it!
Quite healthy
Awesome old truck 👍
where did you get the rear roll pan bumper???
It’s actually a roll pan for a 60’s ford F100 that I cut to fit and then made end caps for. I cut the exhaust outlets in it too.
Sounds good 👍
Sweet Dodge!!!! Please check out my 1968 Barracuda fastback powered by a rowdy 512 stroker backed by an A833 4 speed manual. I think you'll approve. 👌
Nice sound
damnnnnnnnnn that sounds good i have a Hughes whiplash in my 318 cant wait to hear it run

awesome pickup loves how it sounds@@RecklessEnterainment
@@christianandrews1328 just had the heads redone and adjustable rockers put in on this engine and this cam rocks! Pulls hard all the way to 6000 now.
damn thats kickass@@RecklessEnterainment
That truck is rad...love the patina!
Bad ass truck!
What kind of RPMs do you get out of the cam?
I just recently had the top end redone on this engine, new valves, springs and adjustable rockers and this cam absolutely rocks! Pulls super hard all the way to 6k. I actually had to turn the limiter up on it.
If the truck is automatic are you running a factory converter or a stall converter?
It has a 46RH in it which a later over drive transmission based on a 727. It currently does have a stock stall converter and works well with this cam.
@@RecklessEnterainment cool man. I’ve got a Dakota R/T and I am seriously considering putting this cam in it

What mufflers
The full exhaust is a set of 1 5/8” long tube headers, X pipe, 12” vibrant resonators. No mufflers. 2.5” exhaust pipe.
Cant believe it revs that fast 😅
You should hear it now that I had the heads redone. It’s a lot more responsive now lol
is it just the cam that helps it rev up so fast or the other parts? it could pass for a roller cam lol@@RecklessEnterainment

Brand of mufflers?
@@72gunslinger it just has a set of vibrant bottle resonators.
