Religion and Liberty: Volume 2, Number 6
      POWER CORRUPTS
      By Ben Moreell
      July 20, 2010
      Open quote.
When a person gains power over other persons-political power to force other persons to do his bidding when they do not believe it right to do so-it seems inevitable that a moral weakness develops in the person who exercises that power. It may take time for this weakness to become visible. In fact, its full extent is frequently left to the historians to record, but we eventually learn of it. It was Lord Acton, the British historian, who said: “All power tends to corrupt; absolute power corrupts absolutely.”
Please do not misunderstand me. These persons who are corrupted by the process of ruling over their fellow men are not innately evil. They begin as honest men. Their motives for wanting to direct the actions of others may be purely patriotic and altruistic. Indeed, they may wish only “to do good for the people.” But, apparently, the only way they can think of to do this “good” is to impose more restrictive laws.
Now, obviously, there is no point in passing a law which requires people to do something they would do anyhow; or which prevents them from doing what they are not going to do anyhow. Therefore, the possessor of the political power could very well decide to leave every person free to do as he pleases so long as he does not infringe upon the same right of every other person to do as he pleases. However, that concept appears to be utterly without reason to a person who wants to exercise political power over his fellow man, for he asks himself: “How can I ‘do good’ for the people if I just leave them alone?” Besides, he does not want to pass into history as a “do nothing” leader who ends up as a footnote somewhere. So he begins to pass laws that will force all other persons to conform to his ideas of what is good for them.
That is the danger point! The more restrictions and compulsions he imposes on other persons, the greater the strain on his own morality. As his appetite for using force against people increases, he tends increasingly to surround himself with advisers who also seem to derive a peculiar pleasure from forcing others to obey their decrees. He appoints friends and supporters to easy jobs of questionable necessity. If there are not enough jobs to go around, he creates new ones. In some instances, jobs are sold to the highest bidder. The hard-earned money of those over whom he rules is loaned for questionable private endeavors or spent on grandiose public projects at home and abroad. If there is opposition, an emergency is declared or created to justify these actions.
If the benevolent ruler stays in power long enough, he eventually concludes that power and wisdom are the same thing. And as he possesses power, he must also possess wisdom. He becomes converted to the seductive thesis that election to public office endows the official with both power and wisdom. At this point, he begins to lose his ability to distinguish between what is morally right and what is politically expedient.
      Close quote.

This will never change until they are held physically or mentally accountable . These tyrant s have violated innocent peoples rights for years and because they got away with it and their supervisors probably supported or trained them to act that way. Thanks for letting them know qnd starting to hold them accountable.

In times of tyranny and injustice when law oppresses the people, that is when outlaws make their place in history...The only thing necessary for evil to prevail is for good men to do nothing... If you prefer wealth over freedom, the tranquility of servitude over this animating contest for liberty, go home from us in peace, we seek not your arms nor your counsel. Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you and may posterity forget that you were once my Countrymen... When Those we entrust to protect us Choose instead to stroke their own egos and conspire with evil to rule over us in tyranny... we have no choice but to overthrow that evil and Immediately end any power we ever entrusted them with.... When those we PAY To protect us from harm choose to instead to violate our rights... or when they put their own safety before ours at that moment they make themselves obsolete and we no longer have any need to pay them... At that point we must be willing to look to the end of our own arms for help... And to Take that power back from them, we must have souls be willing to pay the ultimate price...our lives... Freedom is never free.... We must stand up and be counted and stand up for what is right or we don't deserve freedom anyway. God does not run with cowards God favors the brave and the bold and those who would fight evil at every turn

That's the problem. People need a push to be willing to go after these tyrants. For an armed assault against tyranny to take place, a group of people are going to have to end up with nothing to lose. Fueled by anger and hatred, they can plan accordingly. With nothing to lose, nothing will hold them back. After witnessing all the people get brutalized and/or unalived by police, I'm very surprised nobody has gone on a mission of vengeance yet. No surviving family members wanting to retaliate surprises me considering how often cops bring harm to people. I know for a fact if it was me, I would definitely not take it and I would carefully plan what needs to be done. But, to be a success, a lot of capable people need to be at that level and possess an arsenal of tools for the job ahead. I'm all for it. But I can't do anything useful alone. And there's something else to consider: moles or snitches getting into a group that's planning to do what needs to be done. The bigger the group, the higher likelihood of betrayal. Reminds me of Fight Club on how to try to keep the clandestine group hidden, and thoroughly vet new members. I consider all the hypotheticals about these ideas all the time, and it's very discouraging. Too many bootlickers in this world who need to be "taken out of play".

Mr. Freeman as always thank you for your service to the greater community of America. I grew up in Cypress Park, Northeast L. A. and didn't know how wrong these sob's were just felt disgusted after every contact. For the most part they haven't changed but I don't put up with it any longer and assist fellow residents when I can. To paraphrase Ms. Joplin we ain't nothing if we ain't free.

James Freeman... treating our public servants like the servants they are. Boldly approached and issued his own directives clearly and articulately. There's no doubt in the "managers" mind that James says what he means, and means what he says!
Yes, America, these public servants are here to SERVE US, not bully, harass, intimidate or oppress us!
