    My (mostly) objective tierlist and your subjective tierlist differ in a lot of places, but at least we agree that the Mini Suspended Coaster is bottom tier trash.
    Also congrats on reaching 5000 subs!

      @nlb137 Год назад +2

      I think it's at least partially because when something is so objectively bad, it's hard to have fun with it.
      The heartline is at least an interesting change of pace to design, and can have some niche use as a pseudo-flat ride to plonk down in a gap somewhere.
      The mini sus coaster is just unfun to build because it's just the worst parts of a bunch of other coasters put together. Between losing speed very fast and having no unique elements, it's boring and frustrating to design... and the low car weight means even once you get a design that will just *finish*, you can still end up with a pileup once guests are on it because of how much impact guest weight has on it.

    As someone who became a coaster history nut because of this channel, I'm glad to see every single video!
    And, as someone who loves historical deep cuts, I appreciate how high the Virginia Reel (one of my favorites) and the Reverser are!
    I don't exactly feel qualified to comment on the rest of your placements, but I would probably put them similarly if I really knew my stuff.
    What a marvelous tier list for a marvelous game! It really is the gift that keeps on giving.

    • @JNattyBoi
      @JNattyBoi  Год назад +1

      Ay thanks so much as always! I debated putting those two higher (especially the Virginia Reel) but I tried hard to spread out the placements across each tier, so they ended up in C and B. If I could, I'd honestly put most of the rides in B tier and above haha. Maybe should've gone for an "A, A-, B, B-" scale. Glad you enjoyed the video!

    I would agree with you on the Lay Down Coaster. I build that one all the time with the overbanks, loops, corkscrews and even zero g roll. My favourite would be doing a Raven turn off the lift. And with all the elements added to the LIM coaster in Open RCT2 and RCT3, it would be a top 5 most built for me.

    • @JNattyBoi
      @JNattyBoi  Год назад

    I think you're underrating the Giga Coaster. While its not as iconic as many of the RCT1 coasters, If you ask me (mostly an RCT1 player) this is the coaster I think of when talking about RCT2. To me this is the iconic coaster for RCT2, I remember loving building spaghettibowl coasters with it.

    Agreed with the standup coaster and its funky stats. At the same time, the high intensity ratings present an interesting and fun challenge. On two occasions, I was able to crack the 7.68 (very-high) excitement rating. Requires tons of careful planning with the layout. Anyways, I dig the list, and your videos going over the real-life inspirations behind these classic coasters.

    Good list. I also love wild mice coasters but wooden one is my favourite. I know it is inferior to the steel one in every way but I just love how it looks. The wooden coaster is also among my absolute favourites.
    My only major disagreement with your list is the disrespect for the Mine Ride. It is a fun coaster to build. I like to make a design that goes around other rides, shops and paths. It can get nice stats and the long trains give a lot of capacity. It also looks cool speeding next to other attractions. I would give it a high C or low B.

    For the most part, I agree with your list. The strongest point of contention I have is the Mine Ride. I personally enjoy designing them, and I think a well themed one can really tie an area together. As such, I'd personally give it an A. Also, the Suspended Swinging Coaster would be a fair bit lower for me. Their ridiculous nausea stat is the main issue. They can be neat, but their stats put them in D for me. Other than that, my list would be basically the same, except I'd move a few other things one tier up. I'd move Looping Coaster to S because its so iconic, has nice base stats, and looks really nice. I'd move Steeplechase to D, because personally I think that building a racing coaster with them is fun enough to warrant it. Lastly, I'd move Virginia Reel to A, though I don't have any reasoning that you didn't already say about it; I just feel said reasoning makes it deserving of an A. But that's just my personal thoughts.
    Fun video, as always. It's always fun to compare how different people feel about different rides in RCT. Congrats on 5K subscribers!

    • @JNattyBoi
      @JNattyBoi  Год назад +1

      While I do stand by my Mine Ride placement, I knew some would heartily disagree. I think if I played more Sandbox-style parks, I'd grow to like the Mine Ride a lot more. Your other points are incredibly fair, I actually wavered between putting the looping coaster in the A tier or S tier - the OpenRCT2 version of the ride (which has a few added special track elements) would definitely have made it, I guess I just hesitated putting a ride that high due to iconic status/aesthetics alone.
      But thanks much for sharing your thoughts! Glad to hear you enjoyed the video :)

  • @CheesecakeMilitia
    @CheesecakeMilitia Год назад +1

    14:05 I always thought LIM coasters looked naked in comparison to the regular Schwarzkopfs the took some track sprites from - especially the vertical loop. The large loops and corkscrews don't have the heft of the track spines of other coasters so they always looked wrong to me, too. Plus no chain lift makes it more limited in terms of layout design.

    • @JNattyBoi
      @JNattyBoi  Год назад

      That's exactly it, "naked" is a great way to describe how it looks compared to the other steel coaster types with inversions

    Well, the mine ride is probably something that first timers whiteout any hints will have difficulty whit any coasters that only use gravity and some other sort that isn't powered. So a totally beginner might find the mine ride as a fine one as the hills ain't gonna make this ride rollback at all.
    Also quite controversial that a Hearthline is higher than a mine ride. Because here's some other aspects that the Hearthline is very bad.
    Hearthlines only have a "soft guest gap" of 35 (meaning a very small amount of rapid guest generation).
    Hearthlines also so intense that the intensity is often double compared to the exitement in RCT2 Vanilla and RCT Classic and also quite nauseating.
    Mine rides are more of a familly coaster types. And if done correctly, it will look good and be an alright secondary ride.

    For the most part I agree with your rankings. I definitely would have put the Giga Coaster much higher for how insanely high it can go as well as having amazing stats. Maybe unpopular opinion, but I absolutely detest the original stand-up coaster. Not only does it have garbage stats and bad track variety, but in the original RTC this damn coaster was so present in the scenarios. It literally scarred me as a kid trying to make a cool coaster out of this terrible ride each time because little other was available 😂

    • @JNattyBoi

      Hahaha I feel very similarly about the Stand-Up, it's just insanely frustrating to build. I basically avoided building them altogether as a kid.
