Super Cool. I listened to this song every morning, for 6 weeks, before I went to my radiation treatment for cancer. Cured! I was blessed. I am indeed, a Lucky Man. I just hope and pray My old GF and I reconnect.
Wow, what a rendition, this gave me repeated CHILLS while listening to it, ya did Greg well Mr. Bonilla!! So INTENSE, loved the synthesizer & that MOOG - iconic, TIMELESS.....nothing like that solo here, RIP K. Emerson & G. Lake, forever grateful for the music U left us all with, Luv to U guys eternal 💚💜🌀😍🌀🙏🙏🌞❗️❗️
Young Greg Lake is truly such an amazing voice.. He had one of the best voices.. He's an iconic legend - that goes for all of Emerson, Lake and Palmer.. Will forever miss Keith Emerson.. RIP MR EMERSON
I normally do not like any concerts without original singers, like Chicago without cetera or Journey without Steve but this was good !! KEITH would approve !!
I love this version, this singer has a great voice, I was so sad to hear of Keith and Greg Lake passing away. I bought a Hammond B3 with Leslie 122 because of Keith Emerson and Jon Lord (Deep Purple). Sadley I had to sell if because I was in the military and was sent to Germany, it went to a good home, I sold it to a Church.
In the 70's I was a circuit designer and ate up with what audio-range signal generator oscillators sounded like through an amp. The Minimoog synth at the end of the original blew me away ("wth they're playing a signal generator on this song!!") that ultimately resulted in a $10M/yr company although there were many steps in between. The Minimoog will always have a special place in my heart.
How can it be the "best version ever" I don't understand since nothing can be better that the original. Including Greg Lake on vocals. Keith was hardly making it on the ending solo. His right hand obviously transformed into something that could not perform any longer. I respect your love for the artist as I was also a big fan but reality sometime is cruel. Sorry, I have to disagree on this one. Just compare this video with one of the earlier days. No contest. RIP Mr. Emerson and thank you as well.

I am moved to tears by this performance. Seeing Keith mostly only using three fingers of his right hand broke my heart more than once. R. I. P. Maestro. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Marc Bonilla does a stellar job, covering Greg Lake's vocals. R.I.P. Keith Emerson. Was great to see ELP, back in the '90s. Thanks for sharing this cool video. Cheers.
I saw ELP in the Summer of 1969, on 500 mikes of Purple Microdot, and I lost 2 days. Carl Palmer used the big gongs a lot. Best concert ever. Even better than Led Zeppelin. Miss them days. Oh, to be 16 again.
Being a Baby Boomer, who was born 9 May 55, right in the middle of our generation. I love late 60s and 70s music. We are in the Presence of Greatness. ✌
I was very fortunate to see the Keith Emerson Band Live in 2004 opening for TESLA and the Scorpions. They played Tarkus in it's entirety, all 7 parts. It was EPIC! When it was over, Me and about 12 other Fans stood up and clapped.. Nobody else there knew what they were witnessing. Music History for the Millennium.
My fahter would have been 82 these days, but he didn´t like rock musi. He always listened polka and drank beer the "umphtata" rhythm. It´st a shame he wasted his lifetime with bad music. I´m sitting here with a good whiskey listening to good rock music that is older than myself and enjoying a good time.
Just love this video. Was never considered lucky, but 26 years in the infantry and 4 combat tours, there is some luck in there somewhere. Who could ever reproduce this sound with an ancient machine as so? RIP Brother!!!!!!!
I can't make excuses for why Emerson killed himself ,I am a musician of over 50 years , you get old and some days you just can't play and it is depressing ,but I never think about killing myself over it. He suffered from depression , period , My wife suffered from depression too.She tried to commit suicide 3 times but I saved her in time, she took her meds after that and she lived ten years longer and finally passed away from a blood clot in her lung. Keith only killed himself from depression , whether he could play keyboards or not , very sad - RIP Keith.

This song reminds me of my beautiful brother who left us Memorial weekend many years ago. He was 21. My mother's favorite child, everyone's favorite brother. Wish you were here.
Marc Bonilla, your voice is perfect for this song. Thank you for such a sensitive interpretation, guitar, vocals and whoever is responsible for the arrangement. I will be looking for your work in the future... a truly respectful tribute.
Good ears wildcat! He is amazing. I wish I could work with him. His voice just carried this song so well, and, I gotta confess, the sound man was excellent also. For a live gig to sound like this is SO great. I'll thank the Lord for this also, because it inspires me.
The intro is just amazing, I guess Marc is the one who admore that part because I saw him to use this technic in his solo carreer. You said the essential about his musical gift to that song, but over that, i'm also impressed by his presence on stage, it attracts light even while remaining very sober in everything.
I love the counter melody Keith plays! And in 12/8 time yet! Emerson played better with 3 fingers in his right hand than most do with a healthy 5. God speed, bravo, & well done Mr. Emerson. You are legendary.

RIP Keith - Thank you for the progressive, rock, jazz AND classical influences your profound life gave us all. I first went to see you in ELP at the Eastown Theater in Detroit in the early 70's. It was your US debut, I think. I had only heard of you from your work in The Nice, I knew of Carl Palmer from The Crazy World of Arthur Brown and Atomic Rooster, (RIP Vincent Crane), and of course Greg Lake from King Crimson. Yes opened up for you. I literally didn't know what to expect but with a line up like that, I had to be there. Your first song was The Barbarian. When that song ended the crowd was absolutely silent and stunned with mouths wide open. I'll never forget that. After what seemed like an eternity the crowd jumped to their feet and cheered wildly. Then you kept killing us with the likes of Tarkus, Knife Edge, Take a Pebble and Tank to name a few right up to the multiple encores. To this day when I listen to Barbarian I have to crank it up and relive that moment. Keith - you influenced generations and I hope they all respect your final decision to leave us. We will miss you deeply.
Well, I guess true genius won't hide from the young generation. Came here because of the Moog-Synthesizer but my god... It payed off the listen to the whole song. I've got goosbumps now
