Hearing this back in high school, early 70S was a pivotal moment in my life. 3 min. pop songs on am radio just were not going to cut it any more........
My poo was a strictly classical guy, he didn't like or get this music (or any form of jazz) but he did understand the brilliant level Emerson played from. I always lived him for this.
Listening to Take a Pebble on NY radio (probably WNEW) during a sleep out in a tent pitched in my mate's backyard. What is this grand sound coming from the tiny speaker?! Buckle up, you're going on a musical journey.
The wonderful thing about music is that it offers so much in so very many different ways that it will always find appeal to someone. In this trio we have masters of the art in every respect of their instruments and composition skills. There is humour, sadness and every other emotion for the listener. In the future others will come along with a ground breaking approach to how they present the tunes in their heads. The world would be a very sad place if everyone played the same tune from the same sheet. Every generation needs to experiment and move forwards with a new audience. In this way the music will never die and future generations will benefit from what is to come...enjoy whatever you choose and always give the new a chance by not dismissing it out of hand because it does not fit with what you hold to be the best from the past.
Everything about this song is amazing. Keith Emerson thank you! Carl on the drums, Greg so lovely singing. All perfect! Because I'm as old as you, I cry listening to this song. I'm happy I can listen to this recording..

@Frans Schmitz Amen.
RandomPerson56789 Excellent decision! He was completely oblivious to talent.
These guys, ELP, are truly missed as musicians/composers. All 3 were virtuosos in their own rights!
ELP The Show That Never Ends 🎹
Greg Lake was gorgeous, sexy, great guitar player with the voice of an angel. Oh to go back in time and have a chance to meet this legend...
You and me both!!
As always beautiful vocals by Greg.
Emerson, Lake, and Palmer. The first live concert I attended in 1972. Influenced my life as a musician from then until now.
What's truly amazing is Keith was 26 here, Greg was 23 and Carl was freakin 20.
Hearing this back in high school, early 70S was a pivotal moment in my life. 3 min. pop songs on am radio just were not going to cut it any more........
Brilliant! And it brings back such warm memories of seeing ELP perform this in November 1971, after Yes completed their opening act set.
Omg ! Simply Awesome !! Thank you ELP. RIP: Greg Lake. RIP Keith Emerson. 🇧🇷❤
My poo was a strictly classical guy, he didn't like or get this music (or any form of jazz) but he did understand the brilliant level Emerson played from. I always lived him for this.
This is so beautiful to watch.
I bought their first album when I was 15. Now I'm 51.
Thank you for your amazing music gentlemen.
I bought their first when I was 13 and I'm now 65. They have been good companions in Life.
In this way the music will never die and future generations will benefit from what is to come...enjoy whatever you choose and always give the new a chance by not dismissing it out of hand because it does not fit with what you hold to be the best from the past.
a talent long before I was of age.... Thank you, Greg Lake.
Everything about this song is amazing. Keith Emerson thank you! Carl on the drums, Greg so lovely singing. All perfect! Because I'm as old as you, I cry listening to this song. I'm happy I can listen to this recording..
Как мне повезло ,что слушаю эту прекрасную музыку в исполнении этих гениальных музыкантов ,имея все диски у себя в коллекции и каждый раз вновь и вновь поражаюсь их мастерству . Вечная память Киту и Грегу.
So good it hurts. Today's music hurts but not in a good way.
Thanks for posting; I always liked this fellow, so much so, that I named my third son, Greg.
that a masterpiece I don't care what anyone has to say especially done live so well
Greg Lake was so handsome and talented! What a gorgeous smile too
Amazing Composition !! Saw ELP in the 70's !! Welcome Back My Friends !! IT WAS EPIC !!
I’m so grateful I had the honor of seeing them play together a number of times 💖
Wow, every woman in the world must have been after Greg Lake. I surely would have.
Ya, my girlfriend at the time thought Greg Lake was pretty hot. Fortunately, I had a resemblance to him.
Too complicated 😪 drama, just have baby's..been able to h Ave children..WHO...babaohriley
Ladies by the score. What a lucky man...
Fantastic vintage video!
Back when this first hit the radio I recall listening to them with headphones and thinking how brilliant the stuff was. These days I listen instead of taking Prozac. Great stuff to calm the nerves!
I am still loving this trio today. Talented musicians who take risks are rare today.
WOW!! You listened to ELP as a teenager?!! I knew not a single girl who listened to ELP. You're part of a rare breed of Ladies. Kudos!
@@harrychapin808 Really? One of my favorite songs is "Closer to Believing" surely a song that appeals more to women, no?
I did too, at age 17. My boyfriend introduced me to ELP. The relationship didn't last, but my love for the music did, to this day. I'm a keyboardist myself and Keith Emerson was/is one of my all time idols. So sad that he passed. I doubt that there will ever be another band like ELP. They were in a class by themselves.
@@Carol120454 I agree! I am glad to hear that you are a musician. I am a singer/songwriter with two channels on RUclips. I wouldn't be one today if it was not for groups like ELP. There is nothing better than inspired musicianship. I am sure you are a wonderful keyboard player. All the best to you!
My all time favorite ELP tune, and a stellar example of their diverse and original talents. Very high position on my favorite "anything" list. Emerson was a staggering talent on piano..
How does a little country like england produce such talent .amazing 🏴
their children actually get an education
Speechless at the piano playing (along with everything else)
Best bass playing I've heard Greg do (and I've heard a lot of good playing by him).
Hands down the best trio in rock history
Grand funk railroad was at trio that was real good too
While I agree, and would vote the same, if someone else said Rush I wouldn't say they were wrong. "Best implies one answer, but this has multiple answers that are hard to argue against.
