This FCC Hack can force any DJI drone from CE into FCC mode; no changes are made to the drone itself. This means no risk of affecting the drone's firmware or its flight controller, no risk of losing your Care Refresh insurance. 3rd party apps do not invalidate Care Refresh like modifying the drone's firmware does. WHY CHOOSE DRONE-TWEAKS?/*
1. First and foremost, there are no changes done to the drone itself. This means no risk of affecting the drone's firmware or its flight controller, no risk of losing your Care Refresh insurance. 3rd party apps do not invalidate Care Refresh like modifying the drone's firmware does.

I’ve been using drone tweak app for 1.5 years and very happy with it. It solve signal issues for me while visiting EU countries.
I have both rc2 and rc n2 controllers.
I prefer using rc n2 controller with FCC App because if signal is lost between controller and drone with rc2 controller will default back to CE and will take longer for connection to come back as drone needs to come back to CE signal distance ( when I was out 7 km took like over 3 minutes for connection to come back) . With rc n2 always get connection back in few seconds as controller retains operating in FCC mode.
Helpful to know! Those minutes of lost signal must be nervous times. I was worried about possible drone loss when I read for the smart controllers "completely losing signal between drone and controller (no video, no telemetry and image goes black & white) will reset the mode back to CE". Glad to hear the drone was smart enough to return. Which drone was it, if you don't mind?

One thing I have noticed on my Android device. I can't have the FCC and the DJI versions installed at the same time...🤔
It would be handy to quickly switch to the CE version if 'interested parties' showed up..?
This tweak works like a charme, so happy for this that lets my mini4pro and mavic 3 fly in fcc mode 🙂
Note that is is illegal without permission and people have been charged for using ways around the restriction already in the UK, granted only when they have been caught breaking the drone laws but they have still been charged for things like this.

On your screen example, the graph looks identical for CE and FCC, except for in yellow boxes showing FCC and CE. My air 3 DJI RC doesn’t show an identifier CE, just 1K.
I am a technical dummy, just trying to understand how to identify which mode my RC is in by looking at the transmission graph. I know it’s CE from the stickers in the battery slot.
I’ll probably purchase and see what happens.

Thanks for sharing the video, I have a simple question which is driving me crazy.. In order to install FCC app we have to uninstall the original one as will be seen as an update instead and app from drone Tweaks won't be installed, got it! But to enable the FCC we need at the end the original app and mod app in background... What's the story? How did you install both of them in Android? For me is not possible, they are seen as an update! 😂

Hi ! I watch your videos carefully and I appreciate them.I recently bought a Dji mini 4 pro and I did the latest upgrade. I found that surprise that I was limited to 120 m. Is there any possibility to go back to the old version? if not, do you have any idea if a new upgrade will be released that removes this restriction? Thank you very much and good luck!
If you use the standard controller (without screen), the drone-tweaks app will remove the 120m limitation.
The 120 m limit is done to comply with laws but it is broken and implemented badly. The law is supposed to limit you to 120 m above the ground or 120 m from the closest point on the Earths surface but DJI have implemented it as 120 m from the take off point. It doesn’t really stop people breaking the laws since you can take off at the top of a hill and fly straight out horizontally and end up more than 120 m off of the ground and the drone won’t care.
I wish DJI would just use the maps they have and use the height data from the maps so that they could implement it as height above the ground rather than height above the take off point.
@@conorstewart2214 - no - there are special regulations for MANUFACTURESRS for getting C0 certification for Mini drones - and it says 120m from STARTING point.

The same app will work with all drones that use the same app (e.g. Fly, GO4)
Wait, the controller doesn't stay in FCC mode after reboot?? That would be an absolute dealbreaker for most
I bought this last year for my Avata with the googles Integra. In that combination It doesn’t improve range since it only boost the signal for the controller, not the video stream from the drone

Please note that you need to connect the app to the goggles after each battery change for the Avata, it's not persistent. It's not possible to only boost the controller and not the drone, that's not how the system works. They will both function in the same mode.

Yes, Mini 1 is also supported (both CE and FCC models), you can find details about improvements on the website. Please note that the Mini 1 and Mini SE are only supported with the iOS version.

Sorry Henrik but it's impossible to follow what You do. The description how to obtain the needed apps is told very fast and details are lost or not present.
Sometimes the audio is not clear enough, sometimes it looks like steps are missing. "Turn off quick transfer mode"..... I don't get how, where, it's turned on. What and how is transferred from where to where? Pairing..... Does the drone have to be first connected to the phone, then back to the RC controller? Pairing again?
Not being a member of the knowing club, too many steps, parts are missing.
As I fly the Mini 3 pro with a plus battery without any extra remote id, flying in FCC mode now and then would be interesting for special occasions.

I have FCC from Drone Tweaks also for couple of years and on my Holiday in Thailand (pattaya) it did not work in pattaya self but other places it worked ok but strangly it did not work in pattaya .... i have had contact with the Drone Tweaks Crew and hope they can solve that problem!
But in my Home Country it works ok.

Agree, the first DJI RC is weak sometimes - much better with second generation
To my recent trips in Italy and Spain did a bit of testing in urban areas with high interference. So on average was having good signal at distances anywhere between 1 -1.5km with regular DJI Fly App in CE and 2.5-3km with FCC app
@@TECHDRONEMEDIA I have been flying drones in my area for six years. Have 5 drones and no matter which I use even with the Yagi extender I can not get to my mate's house. Each time I get a new drone I expect it to finally fly to his house, but no the signal bars still disappear at around the same area. I thought that the updated Mini4Pro looked like it was stronger, but still reached the same spot before return to home kicked in. I will get this app, once I've sorted the procedure. I've bought several garage door remotes, which have all obstinately refused to link to the door, so wary even when people say it works. PS pressed the like button 3 times but it did not add more than one thumbs up. Best Dave
I agree. Wifi drones like the Spark needed FCC. Occusync is amazing.
@@dave20thmay you gave zero information about how far you are expecting the drone to fly or what could be in between your houses, so how do you expect people to know if what you are expecting is reasonable or not? For all we know you are trying to fly 100 km away or behind a hill. You also gave no information about the drones, is it an FPV drone transmitting analogue video at 25 mW? Is it an FPV drone transmitting at 2 W? Is it a toy drone with low transmit power?
If every drone loses signal around the same area then there is likely something more to it than transmit power, likely there is a lot of interference or a large obstacle. You aren’t trying to fly past a radio mast or something, are you? If it is interference from someone transmitting that is causing the issue then cranking up the drone to FCC power isn’t really a good idea, as likely they will notice you doing it as it will be a substantial power increase.
If it is a large obstacle like a large building or hill then since every drone loses signal around the same point, changing to FCC levels might not help.

The guy that you're referring to and that went viral about this was breaking many other laws, flying in areas where he wasn't supposed to and so on. Only after being caught for the other things did they notice he was also using FCC, it's a very big difference.

And ofcom has the capacity to fine you astronomical amounts for using Fcc in the Uk .. if they want .. itd ruin you ..a friend once got caught for using a radio on illegal frequencies and i think hes still paying off the fine 5 year later .. ofcom can be nasty.

I install the app on my Samsung S22 with Android 14 and it crash after i try opened it. Unfortunately not usable without an fix. 🙁

If it is a modified version of the app you never know what else is changed. Eg your credentials for DJI login can be sent to another private server, all the logs and info etc. So your account can be exposed or hacked..... Not to mention that a metasploit payload can be introdused in any android application and allow full mobile access to a remote host...😅

1. WRT running an untrusted app on your Android phone, you are already sideloading an APK onto your phone from a chinese company :) Just sayin'...
2. I've been using this app for the past 3 years now (me and *many* others) and I never heard of anyone having any sort of issues.
3. Why would someone go through the trouble of hacking your DJI account? What would be the point of that, there's nothing to gain...

Interesting idea but practically very inconvinient when changing batteries several times, and doing it fast. Too easy to take off in CE mode due a missing step.
Another guy used the idea of placing a certain file with a certain text in the drone rote directory, or in the controller. Never understood how to verufy the function.

But Henrik please don't add to the confusion on dji nomenclature already prevalent in online forums by calling the RM330 (dji RC) the "Smart controller". Dji has only ever marketed one (1) controller under that name (RM500) and it was discontinued years ago.
Minor thing maybe, but it's a problem when trying to communicate in a precise manner, since people are already confusing many dji drone models and controller models too.

Drone hacks, hacks the dron itself and you get fcc /unlimeted hight/fly anywhere.

The fact that this is illegal should be stated more clearly. Here in the UK at least I believe people have been charged for similar things to this (using workarounds to make it work in FCC mode) when they are getting charged for breaching the drone laws.
Also if you are having range issues you are likely beyond line of sight anyway.
The app mentions special permission being required to use FCC mode, do you have any information on receiving special permission or is it just nonsense there for legal reasons? If it was possible or easy to get these permissions then why doesn’t DJI allow it like they allow flying in restricted areas if you have permission?
Technically you have broken the law and filmed yourself doing it too now and videos showing people how to get around restrictions are probably prime targets for people looking for people to catch.
It also doesn’t matter how many times you say it is for educational purposes only, you know why you are making this video and so does everyone else and you know that practically everyone that watches this video and then follows the instructions will be doing it illegally.
I agree, but he never took flight with it in FCC mode, so technically wasn't transmitting or receiving while in that mode. It is like saying you can chip your credit card and withdraw as much as you want with no limit advice, teaching people how to break the law. 😐

No it because Apple charges to get the app signed though a developer account
As Henrik stated, this is because of the cost of registering your device with an Apple developer account and sign the app for it. Unfortunately, it's not possible to simply sideload the app on iOS devices without this process, as it is on Android. If you are using a jailbroken iOS device or if you have a developer account or if you just want to handle signing yourself, you can get it at the lower price (same as Android) and get the unsigned IPA file.
You got to laugh in that computer users will start to use higher power WiFi to avoid drone problems impacting their signal & that way causing more problems to drone users... Are you happy if WiFi users use illegal power & screwing your use?,.. if no why is it ok for drone users to screw them?.
Point two.. if you go FCC then the authorities can "sniff" your signal at longer ranges & it is easier for them to keep an eye on what you are doing.
Point three... It is very unlikely that they will specifically go hunting for FCC abusers, but should anything go wrong & the police do an investigation then this will be one of the things they will check for and if they find it it is an easy bonus change for them plus it WILL be used to undermine your credibility and defence on their main charge. Just look at the drone users who have been taken to court and how they have been hammered.
One police view of FCC use in the EU is covered by Dirty Harry... Go ahead punk make my day.. do you feel lucky?
Just like your car WILL go better if you chip it & delete the cat & it is unlikely the police will actively hunt you out.. but should anything ever happen and they do notice then expect excremento profundo.
Hi Streaky, Just to clarify a couple of things
1. FCC is not some crazy over-the-top wifi power increase, it is the level of transmission power already used in many parts of the world, such as the US, Canada, parts of Australia etc. The problem with these transmission levels would only be problematic if having *many* such devices (e.g. wifi routers) in close proximity to each other, as you might have in buildings with many small apartments close together. This will have no measurable impact when these devices are tens or hundreds of meters apart, as you would expect with a drone.
2. Regarding the `cat delete` analogy, the two main differences are that you're not actually causing harm to others (as you would with a removed catalytic converter, causing more pollution) and also, if you turn off your engine when you get pulled over, your catalytic converter will not magically appear again, ready for inspection :)
@@dronetweaks1429 fyi FCC to EU on 2.4GHz is 4x the power (6dB) & on 5.6GHz it is 16x the power (12dB) straight off DJI's spec sheet.
& just because something works in other areas of the world doesn't always mean that it would work here (eg US vehicle emission regs vs EU ones). The EU's calculations will have been based on balanced compatibility. Chucking in other countries values can cause problems (even if they don't in the original country as other things are different here too).
Personally I'm not bothered what config people use, just that they should be aware of the risks.
We may not agree with this, but on the very slim chance someone does end up in court for something else that happened then part of the argument they will use (that you have to refute) is the EU have worked out this is what you should need for flying within the rules but you say you need more power which suggests you are going further than others or deeper behind clutter (hence more BVLOS) which is it?.... if you successfully justify the power you incriminate yourself regarding flight restrictions. Catch 22.
& Sir's position regarding "crazy over the top power increases"... Th EU 125cc learner motorcycle licence is generally around 15 horse power... would sir consider 30HP to be acceptable (& is in Peru) for a learner to tune things to?.... if you are saying no & double isn't acceptable why is x16 acceptable for you. You may not agree with this line of questioning & say it is unreasonable but it is how they would undermine your credibility in court & use this to trash you.
It is worth looking at some of the recent court cases.... the general view is that some of the charges were valid but "they shouldn't have been charged with that" on others... except they did!.... their ball, their pitch, their rules (& the "sovereign citizen" defence rarely works).... We don't have to agree but we should be aware of the authorities view & potential attack.
Be advised also, if you go FCC your signal can be "sniffed" by the authorities at a greater range.
DJI say max FCC transmission distance (clear path) is 10km. Using a high gain Yagi antenna to "sniff" you rather than the crappy little stubbies on the controller could get you noticed up to 100km (clear LoS). With interference I'd wind that back a good bit, but nevertheless it is surprising the area you are shouting out your presence over.... do you really want that to be wider than necessary?
