It makes great sense to categorize coach EDT as a sport fragrance given its longevity even if itd technically a blue frag in a non-blue bottle.. didnt think LNDL wont make the date night frags but all 3 you mentioned more than make up for its absence
I love the office scents especially ADG Profondo, TF Grey Vetiver and Prada Lhomme which i love the most. Those 3 also give a different type being mineraly oceanic, woody citrus and powdery floral.
Expected a niche frag to make the blue scent category like Elysium or Sedley but no complaints here. Thank you Ash for a great beginner friendly video
Hey man, just a suggestion... Would have been better if you would have done a quick 20 second run down on what the difference is between the types of fragrances. The key factors that make them "office fragrances" or "gym fragrances" before you listed the fragrances would have been really helpful for those of us that don't understand the differences between something like a blue fragrance and an office fragrance and so on and so forth.
Blue is just an all around fragrance with kind of a blue vibe to it. Office is pretty obvious, something you'd wear in the office that's not overbearing and won't suffocate everyone in the room

@@tricky1506 What does it mean to be blue though? I get that it's an all around versatile fragrance but what does calling it blue mean? Blue is just a color.
Blue fragrances, aka shower gel fragrances, typically have a citrus freshness in the opening, often contain aquatic or other ‘clean’ notes, and a woody base. Designed to invoke fresh cleanliness. Modern blues are also long lasting.
What makes an office scent can very, it’s not a scent profile but a use case. Typically last 8hrs and usually soft projection so they can be used in close quarters.
Really appreciate the heads-ups on the powdery stuff.

Great video. I would like to see one with maybe a cheap, mid, high price that fit blue, gourmand, amber, spicy, aqua, fresh etc.
I can vouch for YSL Y, I had a sample of Y Le parfum and that thing was absolutely fantastic and lasted a great amount of TIME (9+ hours and even I could still smell it) which ended up me buying a bottle at the end of the day

I got a sample size of D&G The One EDP from a "decanter" in the UK. Prior to spending the full amount on a big bottle.
And I don't know if its just my natural skin composition or the shower gel I use or something else. But it doesn't project or last anywhere near as much as I'd like. Certainly not enough to justify buying the full size over something like TF Noir Extreme. I have a similar problem with Chanel Sport Extreme. Whereas Sauvage lasts a great amount of time for me.

gent scents, I don't think you are aware of this but the fragrance HiM by Hanae Mori has been discontinued for some time now and is not affordable anymore. If you check the prices it's going for upwards of $100 or more. Used to be a $15-25 cheapie.

Funny you should mention that Chanel doesn't go fo discounters. I was searching all over for Eau Extreme and couldn't find a discounted price. I almost gave up but found a site where I got 100ml for $78! Free shipping too. I never moved so fast online in my life!!! LOL Should have bought 2.

Opinions on The one EDP longevity i once had a bottle bought i think on amazon or Notino which didn't last long at all i mean like 15 mins and it was gone so might have been a fake or a bad bottle but since i love the fragrance im considering to buy it again only if it performs at least a couple of hours

Ash, what are your thoughts on Chanel vs Dior? In my opinion Dior is crushing Chanel, Chanel can't come out with a mens fragrance once every 5 years and think that's gonna work. Dior comes out with a quality men's fragrance every year and there cheaper than Chanel. Chanel needs to step it up.
@Austin Steele the Bleu de chanels do smell better,but for the price they just don't last very long. If they lasted as long a s say sauvage elixir, than there would be no contests Bleu de Chanel wins all day. Maybe Chanel will come out with a Elixir, we have been waiting a long time though.

I have Bleu de Chanel Parfum...if it had the performance/projection of Sauvage, then the world would be a better place, and I would go broke from accumulating $170 bottles every other week. I'd literally stockpile BdC if it projected better.
I can’t lie. I jus bought bdc edp and taking it back to exchange it for something else. Maybe invictus platinum or a replica frag. Bdc just seems too redundant to most of the ones I have and I’m getting tired of redundancy especially when I’m spending my money unless it’s for gas or keeping the lights on🤣. If the opening of BDC EDP lasted longer I would keep but never mind. I got chrome united on my other arm and it’s still punching way harder than bdc. A $30 frag is kicking this $150 frag but right now. Sometimes I just do battles like this. Put 2 total diff frag on each arm and go to work. Sniff throughout the day n see which is winning.
Chanel does it for me more than Dior...just seems more adult. BDC Parfum is an amazing masterpiece, and on my skin is absolutely beast mode. LOVE AHSEE as well, with that heavy vanilla Tonka bean. I like Elixir, obviously made well. Unfortunately, even though she likes it somewhat, the wifey thinks it smells like a pine tree car freshener. Yikes

Hey I need a tip from the fragrance community here!
I am rather new to fragrances. Right now I am searching for a "signature fragrance". I've smelled quite many perfumes in parfumeries and bought a few of the "crowd pleasers" (Dior Sauvage, etc....)
I like keeping things simple and minimalistic. I almost always wear the same "classic and simple" clothing style (charcoal or blue sports coat) and I'd also like to stick to one "signature" fragrance if possible....
I really like the citrussy, fruity notes of the modern, popular fragrances, especially grapefruit and bergamot.
But often I find these fragrances to be to much of "crowd pleasers", missing a mature, "authoritarian" twist.
On the other hand I'm not a big fan of "fancy" notes such as the strong iris in Dior Homme Intense or strong raspberry.
Now what I'm searching is a perfume that combines citrusy notes with a darker, more mature and classic woody (or maybe amber or oud) note.
If you guys have an idea it would be awesome if you could help me out! If there are designer fragrances that fit these categories I would prefer them over super expensive niche scents because I'm not yet deep enough down the rabbit hole to spend hundreds of dollars on single bottle :D

Mancera Cedrat Boise seems to fit what you are looking for. While it is technically a niche fragrance it is not niche priced. From discounters it is usually around $89- $110. It is very citrusy and versatile while yet being mass pleasing but commanding.

All the above are great ones. I have a cheapie one for u. I’ve gotten my nose on it recently and to me it seems like u described Bem Sherman Icon. Most definitely doesn’t smell like a cheapie but it popped in my mind when u described what u were looking for.

Maybe not beast mode but definitely well above average performance. If you want a balance between mass appeal, complex, and expensive smelling, BDC is a top tier choice
