So assuming you get roughly 10 sprays per ml on average, and that each wearing averages 3 sprays, that means that a 100ml bottle will give 300 wearings.
I know not all Ashs bottles are 100ml, but let’s say they are for ease of calculation. 2000x300 = 600,000 wearings.
Assuming you wear one fragrance a day, that’s 600,000/ 365.
Meaning Ash’s collection should last him roughly 1644 years. 😦
Now I don’t know if Ash has kids, but again purely for arguments sake let’s say he had a kid at 30 and so does all his offspring, and that he lives to roughly 85, as do all his offspring. That means the collection changes hands roughly every 55 years.
That means you should get about 30 generations down before you finally run out. So basically Ash’s Great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great grandkids are going to smell like Jet Black Enigma. 😂
TL;DR - If Ash wore one fragrance a day starting back in the year 378 AD, he would finally be reaching the end of his last bottle today.
(I’m not going to act like the maths is perfect here, take it with a very, very generous heaping of salt. It does help put the size of the collection in perspective though.)
^ P.s. for those who are heavier sprayers and do 5 sprays on average, that works out at 1096 years - which is still a very long time. 😆

Thanks for the calculation. You just opened my eyes to the fact that I need to quit adding to my collection and start reapplying throughout the day. Time to sell or give away some of the ones I don’t use.

Dior Homme 2020 extremely underrated, I get compliments every time I wear it. Goes nice with any outfit/occasion.
When I started, I made a few collection rules. #1 No more than 20 fragrances at a time (I'm currently at 12). #2 I have five forever fragrances and those are the ONLY ones I can repeat buy. #3 I have to wear each fragrance at least once a month. #4 When I retire, I'll only have six...one fragrance for each season, a fragrance for when I go out with friends (or on a date with my wife), and one special occasion fragrance. Thing is, a 100ml bottle, if sprayed 5 times when applying, will take between 250 and 300 days to go through it. At 12 fragrances, I have enough for roughly 9-10 years.

I also gave myself a 20 maximum rule but I have found myself at 24. I have learned a lot of what I truly will only love. Giving 8-10 away that sure I like but I sure don’t really wear them to two friends that I know only really use one.
@@picantepollo6238 Yeah, it takes a bit to find what you really like. Of my 12, I LOVE nine. I like another and don't really like the other two. Those last three will likely be gifted if I find friends or family that like them.
I have been a collector and perfume guy for years, but I also keep it realistic and never own more than 10 or so.
yes, I sell a lot. owning more than 10 means either
- you have to neglect your favs because of all the other stuff
- or, which is worse, you wear your less favorite scents so they don’t just rot on the shelf, and miss your favorites meanwhile
What site do you recommend for selling ones you don't want?
That’s a an idea I have considered. Then I think of a time when it might be useful. I have succumbed to the fact I like being surrounded by choice even though it makes no sense at all.
I created a new collection last year after I came to realize that my old small collection was dated. I overbought my new collection by three colognes that just aren't for me. Namely, Dolce & Gabbana The One EDP. I agree - 10 is about right.

I have 250 bottles and I drive myself crazy picking a scent sometimes. I can't imagine 2000 bottles. My favorite scents right now are Layton, Naxos, Y EDP, Sauvage Elixir, 2nd Soul, Carlisle, Le Male Le Parfum, and Cedrat Boise.
How does the PdM layton and carlisle perform??
Carlisle is a beast, 4 sprays goes all day, 2019 bottle

Givenchy Gentleman EDT Intense is a very underrated fragrance! That cypress note works so well with the iris and tonka bean! Love it!
Couldn't agree more. Gentleman EDT Intense is my Signiture Scent. The dark rich sweet Woody note is something that ive been looking for in a fregrence since i started looking for my Signiture Scent. Its addictive. The way i would describe it is high end classy wood thats a bit fresh while still being mysterious and alluring. Gives me the image of being dressed up with a white button down shirt while sitting in a high end office made out of wood.

I've got 50 fragrances in my collection. 10 - 15 I wear regularly. About 80% are designer, 20% niche. Favourites include Creed Aventus, Dior Homme Intense, Armani Acqua di Gio Profumo and Profondo, Hugo Boss The Scent Private Accord, Jean Paul Gaultier Ultra Male and Le Male Le Parfum, Versace Dylan Blue, Dolce Gabbana Light Blue Forever and The One Intense, and Xerjoff Naxos. The most expensive, and probably the strongest one, in my collection is Amouage Interlude 53, but I never really get to wear that one.
Profondo is one of my top choice for summer, this list make me want it even more

I have a bottle of Gentleman Intense that I ignored for a while. Coincidentally I wore it the other day and loved it… then you dropped this video. It’s a solid scent and the dry down is the prize.
I have 3 of them lol my absolute favorite is Prada L’homme it has given me the most compliments.
I wear PDM Carlisle 2 to 3 times per week (usually when I'm not going anywhere, lol). Heavy rotation on the other days for me is Y EDP, Moustache EDP by Rochas, Euphoria EDT, PDM Sedley, Phantom EDT, and Replica Jazz Club. I have 15 fragrances and I'm almost content with what I have (one day, might have to add those two Clive Christian scents I love...), but I also buy sampler sets on the cheap from Belk, Sephora and Macy's and sometimes go to the mall scentless to hit a new scent or two on the skin to see if I really like it.

Light blue forever is my go to 3 to 4 times a week....awesome scent.
I just bought a 5ml sample of Escada Casual Friday. All I'm going to say is that my prior belief that mauboussin homme is a banger of an alternative was confirmed. In fact, the opening of mauboussin is better, and the dry downs are different. Casual Friday smells like its mauboussin remade by Prada. But here in the UK, mauboussin can be had for £20.
Also, 1 million lucky isn't in my top 10 but i got 200ml for £45 so it's part of my collection regardless
I have 235 fragrances and over a hundred decants And I can also say that I wear a different fragrance everyday and when I do get around to going back and wearing something that I wore before it's probably going to be about 6 months before I go back to wearing one I just have so many if I can imagine with 2000 😱

My Y EDP got negative reactions in the beginning, yet it seems to be getting better as I'm continuing to get compliments from it as I did yesterday as it's getting more fruity and sweet as I use my bottle.
It's easy to over spray
Same feeling with my y EDT. Easy to underspray till you over spray.
I have to do 2 or I can't smell it and the scent is new to me
With Ash being my favorite reviewer, it's no coincidence that I own all 10 (with the exception of the Terre d'Hermes.). I still have my 200ml Eau Tres Fraiche that's not going anywhere. I own 200+ full bottles and I challenge myself to rotate them as much as possible, but anyone that has a large collection knows how that could go. After a while you just have to go back to those favorites, sometimes just to avoid taking half hour to choose 1 on a morning.
I really like the background videos what are shown by presenting the notes.
I love the cardamon in Le Make Le Parfum. I got it for the vanilla, but I love it and wear for the cardamon.
I only have 9 full bottles and around 10 decants of other perfumes that I like and will only wear on special occassions (includes Dior Sauvage Elixir and Creed Aventus). I only buy full bottles of perfumes that I like the most and will definitely wear most of the time.

American Eagle 1977 Intense is my favorite so far, just got into this hobby tho and am looking forward to getting to familiarize myself with different fragrances

Wow, your collection obviously has mine crushed to a fine dust Ash, but nevertheless… I’m somwhere north of 100 fragrances at the moment, and we share both Light Blue Forever and Le Male Le Parfum as ones getting continuous use. They will both always have at least one backup bottle for me.
I will definitely check out the ones one your list I’m not already familiar with. Love the idea for the video and would love to see more like this, awesome idea to give a deeper look into what a dude with 2000+ fragrences to choose from actually wears regularly.

Yeah, and the batch on my bottle is fairly recent (06/2022). According to L’Oreal it’s still in production with no plans of being cancelled. That was an internet rumor that got out of hand. It’s Prada’s third best selling men’s fragrance.
Out of this list for me. YSL Y EDP, Missoni Wave and ADG Profondo. I smelled Le Male Le Parfum in store and I have to get that too.
Prada black has clearly not been discontinued. It's still constantly selling out and being restocked, in every sephora and hudsons Bay/Nordstrom in my city. It's very easy to get.

Thats why I think 15ml and 30ml sized bottles of fragrances are great for a collection. Less total volume, but more options.

I know it sounds crazy, but I like to wear the platinum egoiste by Chanel and love it… people say it’s spicy but I don’t see it.. also my all time favorite even though my wife hates it and I’ve never gotten a compliment from it is BDC EDT.. I put pretty sizeable dent in my profondo and aventus.. so I guess I’m not too unique from the crowd. Those all are pretty common but it’s what I like. Great video ✌🏻

If you think about it - Ash has about 2000 bottles right - let’s say an average of 50 dollars per bottle. 2000 x 50 = 100,000 dollars on aftershaves. And one person could never get through that many bottles so most of them will go unused. That’s insane! 😂 still love the videos though! Haha

Hi! Recently through your videos and various tik toks i've taken a more deeper interest in mens fragrances. I consider myself a minimalist so wanting/having a big collection is not practical for me. If you had to pick 5 colognes for different types of occasions/seasons what would they be? Many Thanks and appreciate the content!
Don't just pick a specific fragrance because others like it. Try them out for yourself. You might find something that's popular isn't for you. Better to try before you buy, or, if that's not an option, order sample vials/decants
@tomtombs8970 Dylan Blue is fantastic. Smells great, performs well and is an incredibly versatile crowd pleaser. One of my favourites.

I love Ash, and I am one of the lucky few people who watches him without buying too many fragrances. And I really do wear all my fragrances and i have about 40 collected over 15 years. So think seriously. If you had all these incredible rare scents, would you really wear all these mainstream fragrances, as he claims? When you could walk about in the world being unique and incredible, and impressing your friends? Also, he reviews new scents every week, and he has to wear these non stop. So how is he wearing these regularly? Haha. This list seems like it should be called "popular, well known scents, that people are likely to buy using my code so that I get a payout ". Stay sane guys. Affiliate work is a sales job. He is a professional salesman. Don't forget that, and enjoy the content with your eyes wide open. :)
I don't get the Prada LR Black hype. It is way too powder-y, at least on my skin. It gets better on drydown, but I wouldn't wear it unless i want to smell like my grandma.
I agree. I have a 99% full bottle of Midnight in Paris, and it is a powdery sweet nothing burger to my nose. While weak, Bulgari Black had a lot of notes going on. The only scent I wore for many years.

Haha! You need to slow down. Recently started around November and now I have about 8. 3 of them I'll probably never wear. Espacially hate the Ralph's Club. But I can see myself rebuying Molecule 01, Boss bottled, and Bleu de chanel. What are some you'd recommend?
@@amaniabdallah9572 also recently got into frags here. I don’t like the regular ralph’s club but the parfum is great. Some versatile freshies I’d recommend trying are missoni wave, prada luna rossa carbon and dior homme 2020/homme sport 2021
Got Eau Givree for Christmas. I'm in love with it. It's so clean and fresh and lovely. To me it smells like a photorealistic grapefruit in the opening. I've had to calm myself down wearing it because I've already made a dent in the 100ml bottle and we're still in winter.
For me LRB after 30 minutes smells exactly like Armani Eau de Nuit, i even compared them on both arms and LRB maybe is a little stronger but i dont think i'd be able to tell one from another.

I have a lot of others that I really enjoy but I tend to reach for these most often.
I really love that YSL Y edp!! But what about the “le parfum” version? People says it’s more a going out fragrance, but is it usual for school/office too? People are very positive about it. So it gets more compliments than the EDP. What do you guys think? Keep the EDP or le parfum
To me, I think it's all about projection. I get the typical less projection + longer lasting with each increase in concentration (i.e. EDT projects the best, but lasts the least, EDP is middle, parfum projects the least but lasts longest). Personally, I don't get a ton of difference in scent profile between the 3 of them, so it's more about how much I want to be noticed. For instance, I wear the EDT when going out, but the parfum when I'm at work. I know, probably opposite of most people, but that's how I use them, with the EDP being the best all-around crowd-pleaser that gets the most compliments but has the best performance/longevity balance. FWIW, I just got a carded sample of the rarely-mentioned Eau Fraiche flanker, and it is VERY different than the rest of the line. Much fresher, but also has a very different scent profile with way more lemon up top.
The EDP is more suitable for office. Le parfum better for going out for a diner or date.
Le Parfum gets me compliments every time I wear it
I have both, however, Le Parfum is my go to from that line.

What's the shelf life of a fragrance....assuming temperature is stable/room temp and not in direct sunlight?
I love Dior Homme 2020. If they would have given it a different name, I think it would have been more popular. Instead, it's just criticized for not having iris. I find the woody part of 2020 do be just wonderful

How long will fragrances last if kept in proper conditions?

ello I am new to the fragrance community and I am just building up my collection. Can you please make a video on where it is safe to buy an authentic cologne for less than retail? I just bought three new Tom Fords from eBay and I’m starting to think they are not authentic. I bought tobacco vanille, tobacco oud and oud wood. I paid about $750 for the three of them - which is obviously less than retail, but still quite expensive. Please make a video about this! thanks!
