What made this performance even more special, is before that day no one other than the band had ever set foot in the studio at Godsmack headquarters.. and that was straight from Sully in an interview

I'm so glad you did this reaction. I wish I had this opportunity when I was a young man. Music brings about an emotion to me. Godsmack needs more love in the reaction community. "Under Your Scars" is another emotional song from them, but their spiritual/harder stuff will blow your mind.
Love this song , love this band, love watching people react to it. It is a very emotional thing. Powerful. Your a good dude man.
I guarantee you half of those kids probably didn’t recognize most of their classmates in the beginning. But they all had 2 things in common, 1) love for music and 2) In the end the feeling of Pride. More kids need that feeling in their lives, Music is healing and bonding experience.
I can't watch this video enough. I so wish I had been one of those lucky kids. This is a feel-good song and a feel-even-better video. Godsmack changed these kids lives forever! ❤

I wish I had at least one parent who thought what I loved/ or even wanted to explore was worth it. Everything I ever wanted was poo-poo'ed or squashed.. I was crippled, stripped of opinion and self esteem.. Humiliated by a bully father and passive aggressive uptight mother. Even though they have passed, I still find beauty and redemption in videos like this where the children obviously had supportive parents. What a blessing that would be as opposed to being told you are wrong for everything and restricted from every dream. Good luck children/ young adults... dont ever let your dreams be minimized by assholes. xo
It's amazing what a throw away comment can do. Years ago I was at a scifi convention and a young woman wanted an opinion on her embroidery of a dragon. No one wanted to talk to her as she looked very scruffy. I like embroidery so I gave her my honest opinion. It was very good. Some of the best I'd seen.
Ran into about a year later. She was working as a seamstress and was getting money for her work. When I talked to her she was homeless. She just needed a bit of encouragement to go for a job and some help. Cost me nothing but the return on investment was huge.
Godsmack is my absolute favorite band ever, has been since 1996!! This band is so genuine! Sully’s voice is SO powerful!!! I highly recommend you listen to his acoustic work! ❤

Sully Erna, the lead singer of Godsmack, is also a VERY accomplised live and session drummer. In the live shows, Sully and the primary drummer, Shannon Larkin, do a tandem back-forth "drum battle". Hence why so many drum kits in the auditorium.
Sully and the boys of Godsmack are geniune Heroes and Teachers. The song is powerful, appropriate, and about all inspiring. ~R.
I have listened to Godsmack for over a decade. Maybe even close to two decades. I had never heard this. This video is so awesome. I was smiling the whole time. Awesome concept and way of giving back. Awesome song as well. Thanks brother. More good work. Enjoying this journey.

On Sully Erna's channel, there is a video where he talks with a couple of the kids and the teacher that was involved, like a follow up. It's called Hometown sessions: The children of unforgettable.
Being in an undisclosed (just got word we may have a small deal), we have the neighborhood hanging out with us instead of going out. We have fun letting the kids' jam on our gear, I see myself in these kids back when I was growing! YES, IT MAKES ME A BIT EMOTIONAL! LOL😂. Us guys' have fun, help them as they learn and we let them show us what they learned. Kids' learn quick!
