Nice job, elevation at Robertson is 200’ but TPA is actually 1000

Thanks for the correction @robgasparini4847, The AFD and Foreflight does indicate TPA for aircraft below 12,500 lbs is 1,000'. I will be sure to make this correction on my next visit as well as re-verify the listed TPA at new airports I visit in the future. Lesson Learned.

You flew over my old house! Nice flight and good use of checklists. Student pilot here, after covid I've been trying to get time but seems all flight schools here in Florida are booked from young people (I'm over 59) going for their 1500 hrs. to get to commercials but I'll try again when back up north. Thank you for sharing your flying!!

Thanks for watching and commenting @franktbone. Connecticut is finally green, and this past Saturday was really nice. Enjoy your time in FL! I just finished my Complex Endorsement in the Piper Arrow yesterday. I felt like a Student Pilot again in the new airplane. Unfortunately, due to the school's policy I was not allowed to film during the training. However, the Arrow is a really fun airplane to fly. I should be bringing some content to my RUclips channel soon once I get the required renter's insurance per the school's guidelines. I have an Instagram account and I do follow quite a few student pilots on there.

Hey Bud, never got your name. Trained for my PPL at Premier back in 2008 -2010. Logged over 500 hours from KHFD. Your video bring back many good memories flying around the local area. If you get a chance, two flights that would make good video material.
    Newport State (KUUU):
Cruise over Narragansett Bay (view is impressive) as you fly over Navy base with aircraft carrier and two golf courses. Be mindful of Green's class Charlie airspace just north of your route (stay below 1300'). Suggest getting flight following to aid with communications with Green.
    Block Island (KBID)
Flight starts out down the Connecticut river, over the Casinos, followed by the sub base at Groton, over Long Island Sound to the runway. I always fly at 5,500 over the sound so I could glide to land if engine problem. Airport has good Restaurant (the price of the $100 burger has gone up) and then a shot walking trip to town. If you do this during the summer, lots of people and shops to add interest to the video.
    Keep up the good work

@aliacovelli3093 thanks for the comment. My 150-mile solo XC was KMMK > KUUU > KORH in 2009. I know the area well. I agree that would be an amazing airport to do in the next few weeks. I was thinking about Newport State Ironically this morning. It must be a sign. I will add it to my flight list. And yes, the $100 hamburger now it over $200. I am glad I got my PPL in 2010 as well.

Nice flight! I’ve flown into Connecticut one time, and it was very beautiful. Fly well!

Thanks for the comment @RusscanFLY. I'm thinking of doing some coastal flying in a couple weeks. Possibly Groton or Bridgeport area. Be safe sir.

Note: There seems to be a technical issue with the video rubber banding around the 36:18 mark (audio is fine). I have sent a ticket into RUclips to see if it is something they can fix. I assure you the video was not uploaded in this condition. Thanks for your patience. If they cannot resolve their issue, I may upload a separate video of this last part later this week.

Nice flight, like shadow of plane as you land. How are you actually turning the plane?

    • @AlphaKilo.Warrior
      @AlphaKilo.Warrior  3 месяца назад

The funny thing about the aircraft's shadow is the Altimeter is always stuck at field elevation, no matter how high I fly!
While on the ground, the aircraft in the video is "turned" via the rudder pedals. They are linked to the nose wheel in the front of the plane. Example: On the ground I press the left pedal to turn the plane to the left and the nose wheel goes left, and the aircraft follows. On top of the pedals are another set of pedals, those are the brakes. The brakes are separated, I can apply different pressure to each. If I want a sharper turn, I can apply the brakes on one side of the plane to rotate better on the wheel that is not moving. I will take a picture/video of this next time I am in the aircraft.
In the air the plane is turned with a combination of the flight yoke and rudder pedals. It all depends on how tight I need to make the turn. I am moving in a 3D world, not like a car. After a while it becomes second nature.
      Thanks for the great question.
