Hello,
I'm 16 turning 17. What do you recommend I do? Like certs, tickets, skill sets and qualifications? What about standard 11? I am a school leaver. Thanks for the help
Not sure how i stumbled across your channel, but pretty glad i did!
As someone who's looking at restarting and moving to Australia soon, I was wondering if you have any videos on what day to day life (work hours and non work hours) is like on a mining camp?
Hey Kieran i don't as of yet but usually the work hours are 12 hours a day and pretty full not a whole lot of down time during the swing
Hi...I'm currently working as an electrician in one of the mines in North West region South Africa and I'm looking forward to immigrate to Australia, I applied for my skills assessment with vetassess waiting for the outcome...I wanted to know what are my chances as a foreigner getting employed as an electrician in the mines ?

i work in an underground coal mine in qld and its common knowledge you cant get a job without knowing someone lol, its like 300 people underground and 99% of them are australian.
I am an mining engineering final year student and need a job in Australia. How can i apply in Australian U/G mine ?
@@i_priyaranjan3098well u wont get it because if u cant even figure out how to apply to a job by googling "mining engineering jobs in australia" then u have no hope anyway
@@lukea9873 that's very sweet words of you. If i Google to get a job it asked me apply via LinkedIn or they ask me apply after some experience.
hello, Lydia here. love your cannel btw. my question was if i was to call up some agencies or the mines directly. would you recommend anywhere specifically i should contact i can imagine there would be tons and tons of contact numbers lol and my second question is Do you think even a couple of licenses and small things like that could give a chance at starting at the mines that way with training along the way on and off the worksite?
Very rare to just call up someone on the mine site and get a job. If you don't know anyone important on a site, then you really have to apply for jobs online.
Use SEEK, or register with client sites (BHP for instance - they release job adverts each Sunday), or plenty of agencies like WORKPAC.
You should try to get a higher class licence than "C". I probably would recommend MR at a minimum.
Other useful certs you should consider: 1st aid & cpr. Standard 11 for Qld. RIIVEH305 Operate & Maintain a 4wd.
Try to live in the state that you are applying for - we screen out those that are interstate unless they are a great candidate.
Make sure you have full working rights for Australia. We don't do VISA's, maybe others do - but I'd say it is rare.
If you are going for an entry level job, most will be looking for those that can find their way around basic equipment (can you check oil levels, can you change a tyre, do you know how to use 4WD); most are looking for personable people - those that can get along with others; most are looking for those that can handle 12 hour work days in harsh conditions and away from family for extended periods of time. You need to demonstrate these things in interviews.
If you decide to go for a job in mining, then I wish you the best of luck. It can be challenging, but I've always found it rewarding. I could never go back to a Mon-Fri job.
Im a dump truck/loader operator in Zambia want to join Australia mine

Can you get this jobs as an international student
I don't believe as an international student you are allowed to work these full time and long hour jobs but i could be wrong, and on top of that they mines need ful time long term workers, so i would say probably not
Pretty much the only overseas people that can get a full time job in the mines in New Zealanders . We can just turn up in Australia and work no questions asked . No Where else in the world can do that.
New Zealanders have it easier for sure but that not true, i worked full time with hundreds of people from all over the world
this is wrong i know lots of irish who are working in the mines on working visa's from my hometown ( at least 20 )and prob more from all over ireland doing the same
@@randylep if you actually read my comment it states “ full time jobs “ , working visas are NOT full time they expire.
@@evil2rs working for 3 years on a working visa i would consider full time hahaha
@@randylep 100% lots of them
Utilities in the mines is about 90 grand a year , worse paying job on site ,

does anyone know a student who is working in mining ?
Maybe a mining engineering student who is getting towards the end of their studies, and is in a student placement program. With the plan to become an employee of the mine. But if you mean your run of the mill student - then no.
