Just couldn’t imagine as I was half/way thru this tutorial how the actual water & waves would look. Joni, your technique is quite interesting. I appreciate the tutorial. Actually I was drawn to the abstract mixtures on the palate from time to time. Noticing that was a lesson in mixing tones. Thank you

This is one of the best tutorials ever. Thank you. while watching, after a while I had to get up and step back from the screen to get the full effect of the painting. Then I could see much better. In the 1990's I painted on clothes and airbrushed. I'm so glad I save all my brushes and my air compressor and airbrush pens.

This is so beautiful and so realistic to me.. it reminds me of when I would paddle a little far out on my race SUP board after training. I would lay down on my back and just listen to the waves slap against my board, smell the salt water and I would turn my head and watch all the light and colors dance on the water. That was my happy place.. I miss it.. unfortunately lupus took that away but you just took me back to my happy place for little bit. Thank you..

This has been very helpful. I would love to see how to create the kind of water seen inside grottos with glowing colors like the bright blue. They tend to be calmer water but my interest is mostly in the glowing effect of the waters. I think it is lighting added however I would like to paint it.

turned out "swell". :) I like the fantasy stuff, personally. Forests and mushrooms and light and misty, hidden areas and caves and ... stuff like that. an old swamp with some wooden hut and spooky lighting. just an idea.
Wow! Wonderful Joni! Many colors combinations, it's hardy! But the final results are fantastic! Transparency and ligths, boobles and diamonds ligths, are magicals!
