Just in the last week of July 2021 here in the UK, we've had a heat wave. Everything is falling apart or warped/buckled or melted. We've seen 40c (104F.... hottest day ) some people say "it's only like being in Spain".... but when Brits go to Spain they sit and drink beer, they don't go there to do a shift in a non-aircon factory. ANYHOW as always a big thank you for your vid still bringing pleasure.

Spent a lot of time in the snow !!. We're trying to move to Idaho and can't wait !! I'm sure you're life on the Farm isn't easy, But it's Heaven to me !! I can't wait to get moved and start our Homestead from scratch !!. And I also have a couple Tractors And can't wait to put them to REAL work !!. Your Living The Dream my friend !!. Hey Dan, I wish you the best moving to Idaho and having some acreage and less people. That is what I love about Eastern Washington. Our problem is that the Seattle area determines most of the laws in our state and they don't have a clue about rural life. I love it out here where I live.

Love the Drone point of view. I retired two years ago after being with the same company for 36 yrs. 32 of those years I drove Tractor Trailer and heavy equipment. Including snow removal in the winter. I loved doing the plow work when the sun is out and the snow is clean. Doing cleanup at night was fun too, no traffic. Most of the time I drove a Case with a 12ft blade on it. It would clear a lot of snow. That looked like a Case in the video, although the one I drove was a smaller model than that. If I remember right it was a 90C. Could be wrong on the number. Keep up the neat videos.

I just flew back from that area yesterday. My dad lives in Mc Gregor IA on the Mississippi across the river from Prairie Du Chien WI. It was too cold out there for me!

My Great Grandfather owned the Bickleton Store in the early 1900's (Harshberger) I have never been to Bickleton but I want to come that way on a camping/kayaking road trip and enjoy some brew at the cool old Bluebird Tavern. Maybe see you sometime Greenhorn 40 !!!

shivs08 the cascade mountain range separates Eastern Washington from western Washington which is where Seattle and all the people live. This is very rural eastern Washington.
Great video ! I was lucky enough to operate a similar JD in the mid seventies for a guy I worked for . Chains all the way around and a modified Colorado mountain V-Plow on it . It was the most fun a guy could have , breaking through 14' drifts or pulling loaded semis up a long road side slope . Sure beat the heck out of doing it on a no cab or fenders tractor .
Living in Australia I just can't beleive how much snow you have to deal with. It takes a video like this to put it all into perspective. Farming at that time of year must be tough.

We had alot of snow last year here in Sisters Oregon so I bought a 27" Husky Snow Blower this year.....We haven't had a bit of Snow yet......I have a 15 grand John Deere tractor and a thousand dollar snow blower and no FUCKING SNOW......A good frost would make me HAPPY.

I have to admit...I didn’t think you got snow there. Washington is an amazing state. I’m in the Adirondacks, NY ....I like winter.....especially in the country.
We had a JD 8630 and a JD 7520 both with 14ft blades. Also had a v-plow blade mounted on the loader of a JD 4450MFD. I plowed a lot of snow as a teenager.
+Dockworker 1 The winters can be a little harsh. This is the most snow we have had in a few years but it is a whole different world up here in the winter compared to "just off the hill" a few miles away.
+Tod Lindley Thanks Tod, I originally had the tune Thunderstruck by AC/DC but my right when I finished it after hours of editing my program crashed and I hadn't saved any of it so I had to start over. My wife didn't care for the AC/DC so as I was listening to songs this one came up and we all thought it was appropriate, so it stuck. I thought the song worked well too, even though the band is Canadian.
+Jan Jensen I used Microsoft Movie Maker. It is free. It is not compatible with 2.7k video though. I originally recorded my aerial video in 2.7k and then had to convert it down to 1080 or lower. I found out after I couldn't edit any of it in the program.
I really enjoy pushing snow. You see immediate results and it feels like you are getting things done. We enjoy having visitors over and letting them drive the equipment. It is something that most people don't get to do. Harvest time is when we get the most visitors. Almost everyone gets to drive the combine.

God, I miss winter. “Winter” in the south is tornado warnings. I’m guessing the John Deere didn’t get above idle RPMs and you still had to whoa-it down. When I was a kid 47 plus years ago, my grandpa was one of the first in Illinois to operate an articulated John Deere. I thought it kinda amusing that he had to take a 2-day driving class.
The good Ol days. We bought this tractor new in the early 80's. It has been a real workhorse. We wouldn't be able to buy a new tractor now days. So far this year we have had very little snow but the tractor is plugged in and ready to go.
Put sides on each side of the plow facing forward put up top facing forward on an angle at the very top of the plow so the snow doesn't fall backwards or make a cage that you can scoop up and pick it up that has two sides so the snow doesn't the left and right and make lines leave a foot-and-a-half on the opposite side so the snow doesn't fall off and make a line

Sounds like great times. I do love the power shift on our newer JD versus the shifter on the 8440 though.

And that was a measly 18 or 20 inches... We regularly get 2 to 3 feet at a time in some parts of the country. Sometimes much, much more.
finewinerob , the wind blowing the snow around is what gives us the most problems. A lot of areas are either bare or drifted in.

God, I miss winter. “Winter” in the south is tornado warnings. I’m guessing the John Deere didn’t get above idle RPMs and you still had to whoa-it down. When I was a kid 47 plus years ago, my grandpa was one of the first in Illinois to operate an articulated John Deere. I thought it kinda amusing that he had to take a 2-day driving class.
The good Ol days. We bought this tractor new in the early 80's. It has been a real workhorse. We wouldn't be able to buy a new tractor now days. So far this year we have had very little snow but the tractor is plugged in and ready to go.
The tractor is worth more than my house. Good video.

Thanks Germany, we are in a drought and haven't had vey little rain since last spring. Not looking good for snow this year.
Put sides on each side of the plow facing forward put up top facing forward on an angle at the very top of the plow so the snow doesn't fall backwards or make a cage that you can scoop up and pick it up that has two sides so the snow doesn't the left and right and make lines leave a foot-and-a-half on the opposite side so the snow doesn't fall off and make a line
