Flippin' Brilliant!! I can see the merit to this for country roads drifted in after a heavy windy snowstorm. Pulling the plow would eliminate having it steer you all over the road like a grader might. Smart build.
this process is called snow ridging, we do it as a wind break to stop the snow from blowing the roads shut so bad they can become impassable with a regular grader. ridging can really minimize how much a road drifts in.
In the spring run-off video it shows the v-wing hanging one wing into the ditch? May be kind of what you are looking for. The v-wing holds its own very well, with the exception of ice and large amounts of snow or dirt combined. On dry or wet dirt it performs well and in cold weather in the snow there was very little side movement.
SVVideoServices You should link to the other videos of the V-wing Ditcher doing other work - its an impressive plow, but its much more versatile then this video suggests.
+Bob Van Ginkel It''s all about economies of scale. For a big farm with drainage issues, it would be well worth levelling the field (scraping off high parts to fill in low parts) and/or making shallow cultivatable ditches to drain water from chronically soggy patches. Operators could also help pay off the machine by doing custom work for surrounding farms.
I believe that the 'tank' things are improvised grain storage devices. If a farmer is expecting an unusually heavy crop and doesn't have enough on-farm storage, he will pile grain on the ground temporarily. The rings help contain the pile, exposing less of it to ground/dirt contamination etc.
Nice video, but really loud and annoying music! Looks good for clearing small two-lane country roads. The only problem is you’d have to close the road plow it, Unless you can get the wings up high enough that a car can drive past you if you pulled over to the side.
I was waiting for him to leave just the left one down at 6:00... Can it do that or does it not stay straight then (without the force from the right one keeping it behind the tractor)?
What's the point? If the snow is actually deep the tractor can't drive through it to pull the plow. What little snow is there doesn't even need to be cleared. It's only pushing up a big bank because it's so wide.
Why not just use a Vplow on the front of the tractor itself or truck or grader the you got a vplow on front of the grader and the grader blade for back up or a side plow on a grader the old ways worked for a reason and pretty damn good too and what if it takes the crown out of the road and the ice and water just sits and pretty much just destroys the road it self
The best way to remove snow is to push the V blade, not pull. As you can see, the tractor tracks are still on the pavement. For very deep snow, pulling the blade does not work, trust me, been there. 👍👍👍. Has anyone seen the railroad’s pulling V blades, just not yet.
not to bring up a brand battle but if you put a case quadtrac infront i think it would pull just a little bit better or just put tracks underneath the NH you got way better grip with tracks.
if there is someone on the road that is packed with snow, chances are they will be stuck. So I am not seeing the issue with someone coming down the road when this unit would be clearing it.
So many pessimistic people here. This is an amazing piece of equipment that probably needs a view tweaks. Some spoke about residential roadways well as with most equipment you could have different sizes based on needs and even give the driver the ability to change the pitch and angle of the blades for smaller or larger roads and height of snow, so many possibilities you guys lack foresight
Just some royalty-free music I had in my computer. Don't remember where I got it from ... But yeah, this machine pushes a lot of snow! Tractor tires spun a few times but always kept going ...
I don't really get the reason for clearing roads into Oil Derick's in North Dakota (The main purpose, according to your ads..), since most ND Oilfields are shut down the majority of the winter anyway..... Local winter temperatures make oil extraction impractical due to the requirement to keep it heated from well to Refinery, and the nearest refineries are almost 400 miles away...
If I am out moving snow in a field for no reason it means I'm bored and the longer it takes, the better so SMALL BLADE plus a small blade wont cost $500,000 a unit.
1 hour with a truck or 7 minutes with this- yeah, IF you have a half million dolllar ag tractor to pull it with... clear the road in one pass-umm so what happens if someone is coming the other way? just playing devils advocate....

Problem is the tractor must be able to move/pull through deep snow also. Still, nice machine.
That's a farmer that likes his expensive toys, i mean equipment!

Did you notice the dog running around in the short tank things ???? LOL
Yes this farmer should be charged with animal cruelty - that is just plain cruel putting a dog in there to just run in circles.
i run my dog in circles you wanna know something she enjoys it and she is a herding dog and that dog was obviously enjoying it
its a goat!

Playtime you really think that dog can't jump over that and get out?
the city should buy some of these for the roads
Lol there is a hole in those rings! The dog goes in and out as it pleases kind of like a doggie door on the house.
Great snow removal equip. - and I like tha background music a good deal too. What music is it, if you don't mind telling?

BarnyardEngineering it's a way to retain snow - a snow fence, of sorts, the mat doesn't have to be removed in spring
Put all that apparatus on the front of the tractor you might have something when you run into more snow than what you got there.
is this for demo to show the plow off or do you guys actually do that to fields??

why would you need to so move much snow in one line and how would you get that line away anyway ?
thank you for the answer.
May I ask what the point of plowing the field is? What kind of field is this one in the video just a cattle ranch or what?
Jeremy Bublitz snow bars or breaks to catch blowing snow. Does it snow where you live?
not to bring up a brand battle but if you put a case quadtrac infront i think it would pull just a little bit better or just put tracks underneath the NH you got way better grip with tracks.

call that snow ?
I would love to see how it works in the atlantic where snow comes in drifts not straight down and smooth
what do you do for busy rural roads? what happens if you run across opposing traffic?
+bleeckertb If you watch later in the video (at the 3:35 mark) you can see that both blades can be raised vertically to only take up one lane
ya but you would still leave a very large windrow blocking them in, is a very good reason road plows only do one side at a time
+bleeckertb Feather one wing up slowly and fan out your windrow...
Chances are if you need that to clear the road there's not too many people out driving
What do they do when they run into one of them four, five or six foot deep snow drifts? That's why they had the Walters with 10 foot V plows....

Some spoke about residential roadways well as with most equipment you could have different sizes based on needs and even give the driver the ability to change the pitch and angle of the blades for smaller or larger roads and height of snow, so many possibilities you guys lack foresight
that would be great for an air port
Just some royalty-free music I had in my computer. Don't remember where I got it from ... But yeah, this machine pushes a lot of snow! Tractor tires spun a few times but always kept going ...
tracks work better with autograde too even though they both do work well
This thing would be good at an airport
what is the point of clearing your fields of snow like that?
Arn deGotia he is making snow breaks to catch blowing snow

to ware it dos both sides of the roads so that way it only takes one swipe of the blade\
Ya but you have to have a big tractor
what happens if someone comes the other way?
Stop..., lift a wing and let them pass. (insert smiley face).
yeah you got a point there...
Looks to be a bit too wide for a country road...
I could use this for my driveway! :D
only need a million dollar tractor to use it
Brad Van Far from a million dollars
Usually, they already have one.
they should use that to clear runways
you cant the snow has to be clear of the lights on the runways thats why they use blowers
Branden Slayton They use blades for most of the runway then a blower at the end on the last row.
U guys it’s to stop the snow blowing in people’s yard and pile up
Hur stor bredd här den plogen.
2:30 секунда. Что за зверь?)
2:55 in the fence?!? What the hell?!
To, pies
Vay vytata bibika klass :-):-D

billymcnutt he is making snow breaks tho catch blowing snow
That tractor is $9 million.
Not any where close to 9 million.
+32SQUID get back in the kitchen.
maybe a couple hundred thousand
The field isn't cleared from snow, you can't do that with that plow.
I do not see a practical application for this..
***** Don't be all butt hurt that this piece of equipment is a expensive waste of time.
An airport for example? get the snow in nice straight lines, ready for the snowblowers to get rid of it?
Dustin samuelson they are called snow bars or snow breaks. They catch blowing snow
Dustin samuelson does it snow where you live?
That's not snow removal.. You only push it aside!
Nicholas R.M. he is making snow breaks to catch blowing snow
1 hour with a truck or 7 minutes with this- yeah, IF you have a half million dolllar ag tractor to pull it with...
clear the road in one pass-umm so what happens if someone is coming the other way?
just playing devils advocate....
what a waste of diesel fuel! just stay inside and drink a beer
