- Day 5 of my 29 day adventure in Europe takes us to a second day at the Efteling, a theme park in the Netherlands! Opened in 1952, the "World of Wonders" is the largest theme park in the Netherlands! We'll explore the spectacularly themed roller coaster Baron 1898, take rides on Fata Morgana and Symbolica - and much more!

As themepark fans ourselves we know exactly how you feel at 1:17:28 because we felt the same a lot of times at different parks. We think it's beauiful you kept it in the edit, because that is who you truly are and you showed true emotions!
Even though Efteling is only an hour away from us by car, we always get emotional when we have to leave the park again.
There's more going on than meets the eye - I went through a whole lot while putting this trip together. It was also emotional just getting to see the places I've always wanted to visit my entire life. I considered doing a re-take, but decided it was more genuine to leave it in.
@@TravelJack We know exactly how that feels. We have the same feeling everytime we visit Efteling, Europa Park and Disneyland Paris. This last year especially because after some issues we are finally expecting our first child so the next time we visit will be with our little one and not just ourselves.
Sadly we also lost our grandma of 91 2 months ago. We were really emotional in Efteling last month, because we experienced a lot of mixed emotions. The Efteling has always been a part of our lives where we made loads of memories with friends and family!!!
You really grabbed what Efteling is all about, your emotions at the end showed it all. My advise for you when you ever want to visit again, do it in May or in September, the weather is almost always perfect, the park is in bloom and the crowd levels are acceptable..............in fact, the next time you want to visit let me know and if you want I will accompany you, I know the park from left to right and from north to south and since I am handicapt for 100% due to sickness I can let you be my "help on the side" for fast entry............Feel free to my invitation and trust me, you missed out on a few spectacular rides!! Thumbs up anyway!
Its a shame you couldn't visit in the Summer. The park is green. It's absolutely beautiful. And the thing with the Efteling is. Is that it is a shared memory for like at least 70% of the Dutch people. 70% has been there at least once in their life. But most of them a lot more often.
Only 70%?! No way! It's something everyone should go to at least once!
Welcome to the Efteling family. You really did the park justice with your excellent and thorough vlogs. That you may return sooner than you might think right now. That it may be in spring, since the park is also a nature reserve. The lush greenery adds that extra 10% which, during winter, is provided by the extra lights. (in June there is daylight untill 23h00).
You deserve to be invited back for free (flight included) in the spring or summer. You did such a great job making Efteling sound and look good despite these AWFUL weather conditions. Very well done!

That's exactly how I feel every time I have to leave this place. It is truly a world full of wonders. You have to come back to see Droomvlucht! It's the parks most sparkingly magic gem where you learn to dream with your eyes wide open.

we bought the efteling annual pass even though we live in the UK - you get discounts and free entry days into lots of other european parks enough that if you only went to efteling once you would still get your money back
I'm glad you loved the park a lot despite the horrible weather . I live a 10 minute busride from it amd I have a subscription to the park. Went second Christmasday with my brother, amd will go again next week when I have 8 days off from work. Probably will go 2 times, on work and schooldays. I'm very proud and happy with this beautiful amusement park so near to me❤😊

Good video, I visit the Efteling 5 times a year and in the past I booked the same hotel as you did. That hotel gives me an emotional feeling that I am literally far away from everything. It gives rest and warmth. So I completely understand you, visiting the Efteling 2 days in a row with this hotel included...it makes everything fall into place.

Fata Morgana (the 1001 nights boat ride) opened in 1986, it has been refurbished every few years and very well maintained, some animatronics and models have been changed or renewed.
It will get an update like Droomvlucht, it means everything out, what they can re-use will come back.
New lightning, animatronics everything fresh with they technics of these days.
For me is Fata Morgana the best darkride of the park, it is a bit dark, I like that. But Danse Macabre will be a lot darker!!!

Excellent video! Enjoyed that very much, thank you. Nice montage at the end there. I always get a bit emotional from the park, its just what it does to you. My dad always went there with me now more than 30 years ago and many of the same rides are still there and now my own son gets to discover it all over again. He is almost 16 now and all grown up and im sure that he will bring his own kids there in the future, if he decides to have them of course, but when he does im sure he will because he is just the biggest fan. It was a treat watching your videos and share your first-time experience and through that, relive some of the magic again myself. Great for you to point out the excellent music tracks because they really hit that nostalgia.

Yeah, i feel like that is also a beautiful thing about the Efteling... it basically gets passed down generation from generation, like a family heirloom so to speak.
Well, that's Dutch winter, dark, lots of rain and wind, sometimes even snow.
Spring and summer are better times for a visit, but nobody can grant rain free days.
The graphic designer of the Efteling, Anton Pieck, is famous for his romantic illustrations full of hidden funny details. Castles and houses that show wear and tear, a crack here and there, damaged plaster, as if it was there for centuries.
In the museum some of his originals are on display. But he made so much more, simply do a search on his name on RUclips to see more of his hand.
I actually don't mind some bad weather, and I expect it when I travel during the winter. I'll definitely be back in the future. The artistic direction is unique for Efteling and is part of what makes it so magical. Caro was spectacular!

I love that they honor the history of the park! It would have been more immersive for me if I spoke Dutch, but it was still fascinating to see the displays.
@@TravelJack ah yes! I wish there was some sort of english translation in every attraction…Especially since many foreigners visit Efteling and the stories and fairy tales really complete the experience. I don't know, but maybe some earplugs with an English translation of the fairy tales? I think that would be a really good addition to the Efteling!

@@TravelJack Yeah, they go into maintenance mode in the winter because there are less visitors. On the other hand, no cue lines! So you can hit Symbolica three times :)

Genuinely enjoy watching your videos! The weather can be brutal here unfortunately, as you have experienced yourself. I like how you kept being positive regardless of the weather! Even though I can imagine it is very disappointing if the weather is like this during the only two days you’re there. Still hope you enjoyed your stay in The Netherlands and Efteling. Would love to see you back in the summer when the weather can actually be pretty nice!

The composer of several musical pieces for the Efteling, including Fata Morgana, Villa Volta and Vogel Rok, passed away just two weeks ago. :( His name was Ruud Bos.

You can that early acces but you went the wrong way. You must from the entree to fata morgana.. and then they will check if you have early acces
Nice vlog :-) The yoghurt drink is actually more for the kids although some adults drink it too. I don't like it that much either ;-)

13:46 u probably took the carnemelk its a sort of yoghurt but not the density of yoghurt. skimmed milk or buttermilk (informal) is a low-fat, acidic and drinkable dairy product. Partly empty glass of buttermilk. At the top of the glass are the streaks left behind after drinking buttermilk.
fun fact u dont have to carry ur own souvenirs just say u want them delivered to youre hotel prevents stuf from breaking getting wet or lost and its free or at the end of the day u can pick it up at the check out for no extra costs
Loonsche Land is the cheaper alternative @ Efteling, Bosrijk and the Efteling Hotel are more expensive.
