Late 2023 mate.... I was in Kosovo of all places.... i put the song on youtube ( this link ) and a guy comes running into the basement where i was working.... asking how the hell i knew this song... turns out he's a mega fan and had the series for me to borrow. Renewed love for Due South because of it
Yep! Got on I-81 headed south right at dusk one evening last week for a camping trip and had this song jump into my head for the first time in years. Popped it on the car stereo, and it hit just the way I needed it to. One of those moments, y'know?
Nearly 25 years since I would have first heard this tune. Weird to think it's been stored up there in my head the whole time during everything I've done since.
This is the soundtrack to my life 😊 lazy 90's days where u had nothing to do but watch due south and be bored.. If hated at the time but would give anything for now 👍👍🙄
Nearly 00s but yes.... thank you beeb for this, star trek, simpsons and the mythbusters. I wish they could go back to this awesomeness one day. Their lineups changed my life
Fond memories of sitting with my family watching this on BBC 2 here in the UK. Do miss it but with the magic of RUclips I can watch it all again. I loved the wolf he was so sweet. Fraser was wise and sensible and knew how to get Ray out of situations. Ray was streetwise and taught Fraser life in Chicago. This is what made them such a good team. Nothing like this show is on tv here in the UK, the channels think all we can't is reality TV shit but we don't we would like something like Due South again. I did look into getting dvds of Due South but couldn't find any, HMV always seemed to be out of stock and if they had them in it would be like 60 quid for boxset! Meh. Ended up downloading them and put onto blank dvd. I dish them out sometimes for nostalgia. I miss the 90s.
Beeb 2 is also how I came across this gem. It definitely is one of a kind, a show for all but one that gets kids into that positive mode. I caught myself thanking someone "kindly" the other day. Guess it had more of an effect than I thought!
Husky, not wolf although everyone but perhaps a Canadian would call it a wolf. Japanese tourists adored my white Husky when I was in the Rockies & I didn't have the heart to tell them she was a DOG!
Now re-watching this show with my son 25 years later. Nose out of his phone and he loves it. Cheers from Toronto! Side note : When I was 19 I taught private swimming lessons in peoples homes. I taught this little boy who said he dad was coming that day to watch for a little while. I was shocked to see Paul Gross in full Mountie uniform walk in. It was downtown Toronto and they must have been shooting close by. He was as nice in real life as on TV.
I loved this show. That Mountie was my kind of hero, always doing good, no matter how many obstacles were in his way, no matter how many people told him that it wouldn't make any difference. We need more people like him in real life.
Great memories, beautiful show and music. It makes me feel safe and reminds me of better times wen a was kid before things started to go bad for the rest of my childhood and teens. 32 now still watching it and I will allways treasure this series. Thank you due south !
My girlfriend had not heard of Due South, I showed her one episode, and she said "well we'll have to wait for the next series."?!? Come on Canada, do something!
I adored this as a kid - I even dreamed of being a mountie and dressed up as one to school parties... I'm from the UK and have never dressed up since :P
I was a teen in 90s when this curious show began on TV. Still remember how we all had to arrange and limit our time outside in order to catch next episode. And then shared our opinions after watching it. I miss that time when we had to discuss our favorite series without actual texting and social media.
My name is Ray and I had a friend whose surname was Fraser. At the time I never caught on to that... that we were Ray and Fraser. lol Oh well, I hope where Fraser is that he's doing well for him and his family!! God Bless you Paul, I miss you!!!
I used to watch this back in the late 90s. Great show. Got a 15 year old undergoing leukemia treatment through more than a few down moments back then. Now listening to themes from this & shows like Picket Fences, Full House etc just gets me depressed later.
Shame on CBS for not giving this show a chance and was so dissappointed when it got the axe, one of the best shows of the mid to late 90s, it was quirky and original, there was nothing else on like it then and since and Paul Gross was smokin' hot.
This show always made me think of what it would be like if David Lynch did a family-friendly show. Just a weird, friendly guy solving crimes with his dog and another cop. Excellent.
Loving the repeats of Due South on BBC. Such a great show. Great characters and storylines. The sort of stuff you could watch over and over without it being tiresome. Cheers for uploading!
Jay Semko 💙 and the incredible The Northern Pikes. Some of Canda's finest. The notes in this song give me goosebumps just like the first time I saw the opening for the show
I remember coming to listen to this exact video when it first was uploaded. Coming back every so many years this song will pop up in my head, 15 years later here we are.
i remember waking up during the summer. nothing good was on ytv because the morning programming was for toddlers. so i flipped around and stumbled acrosd this on cbc. nostalgiaaaaaaa
I really love Due South!! I remember watching it when I was like 7 and then there would be Superman or something on afterwards! I'm actually watching the whole series now on RUclips lol !
This used to be on BBC2 of an evening, at a time when I'd be just on my home from work. I used to set my video recorder to tape it, and I'd watch it later on whilst I tucked into my evening tea. It was my weekly treat. I still have the CD because the music is fantastic. And Paul Gross was one of my many crushes.
Oh memories, love this show, always wanted to be Canadian Mountie after watching this show, even though its on now and still great, it was special growing up watching it.
Well, Due South was a big hit here in the UK, especially the first couple of seasons. So much so that the BBC cofinanced the revival feat. new Ray. People here still love it. Me included. Thank you kindly.
its been a long time i havent seen this movie but i always wanted to listen 2 openning song again. i never forget this movie .that was awesome. im not canadian anyway i love canada. long live canada
I remember the first time I saw this. I was sick and I turned the channel over and this was on and I've enjoyed the show ever since. Even my brother likes it.
One of my favorite shows. I still pull out the DVDs on occasion. In fact, the other day, I suddenly started thinking about it, so I began to spin some DS tunes on RUclips and planned to revisit the DVDs the next day. But, when I got home, Netflix reminded me that Mindhunter had dropped (10/13/2017), so I started watching that. It turns out that Hannah Gross, Paul's daughter, is a regular on Mindhunter. How crazy is that?
This brings back so many great memories. How blessed was our generation...we may not have had the sheer variety offered by Netflix etc, but the quality was unparalleled - Due South, X Files, ER, Frasier...the list goes on. Growing up in the 90s really was the best.
Hi to all the other 90s kids
Yo! And a big hug to all that listened to the morals of the stories!
Hiya!!
Heema _ hi
Nazdar!
Heema _ hi to you too I was 15 when this came out
Anyone in 2024 randomly have the Due South theme pop in their heads and had to look it up like i did? 😂

Guilty as charged.

Представляешь, у меня то же. ❤
Dude, I’m 35 and have the entire show on DVD
Still to this day my favorite show ever to air on TV
Same :)

From the little I remember as a child yes :) have the whole show on DVD now

Yes me too watch them all good times
For some reason always makes me want to be a better person!!

we should strive to be better people.this world is so full of negativity.
Feel the same, but always fail in it.
Luke Stacey Most certainly.

One of the greatest shows ever made IMO.
I flippin loved it
I would agree. Have the complete series on dvd. Great Theme Music 🎶 🎵
Great nostalgia . Never forget

This soundtrack just makes me want to drive off into the sunset for some reason in some open road in the middle of no where!
God..... I love the music.....
Same here. It's always haunted me, but in a good way. Never could get enough of this song. Especially love the guitar.
@@Stinkbug74 Exactly how I felt/feel. Just watched pilot episode playing on Sony channel in UK. 😊
@@Stinkbug74 exactly! Haunting in a good way, super weird how this song stuck, it's the chorus that hits

A brilliant piece of music. I always loved the theme cut when the show aired. In fact I think that was always my favorite part.
Trying hard not to cry while this is on. My wife might think there's something wrong with me. Is there? IS THERE???
😂😂😂
Nah,your fine.
