Great writing, acting, and music. As far as I know, this series has never been re-run, so I bought the DVD set. Worth every penny, and it did bring back memories of good times.
I only discovered it a few years ago when my daughter was living in Canada. I dimly remember it but didn't watch when it was originally broadcast. My loss! This show is one of the best shows ever!
Good ole ~Paul Gross/Frasier n his buddy/side kick. Beautifulist' theme tune ever, got the CD! Love it so much. Viva Canada n Niagra Falls, great memories.. x Merci King Jordan, Ru Canterbury UK. great montage. just great.
Love this tune, just started watching due south all over again, loved when it was first on telly and it is still just ad good watching it again now :) I get goosebumps everyone I watch it now :-D
I'm glad I finally got to hear that entire song. Whenever they played part of it at the end of the eppisodes, I could always tell there was more to that song that they don't have time to broadcast. It really is a great theme for this show.
Thanks for posting this. My late wife and I loved this theme and this show in the first years of our time together. Happy memories. :-) (I'll always love you, Jane! x)
" You dont know what u r talking about " I have been to Canada many times as I married a Canadian and spend half the year in Canada and have done for the last 12 years and used to live in N.S and I have not meet one Canadian that knew the show. My Canadian wife only heard of the show when I showed it to her. Most Canadians ask me what shows did I watch growing up in the UK and when I say my favorite was a Canadian show called due south im told they have never heard of it. No one iv meet in Novia Scotia saw it or remember it. So I kind of do know what im talking about :) I swear my next door neighbor in Canada is an RCMP and he had never heard of the show and hes in my age group that is late 50s. My wifes kids in their 30s also never heard of the show. Maybe its just that part of N.S I have no idea but facts are facts and my first comment was based on facts iv seen. I did not think my first comment would have got a reply of I dont know what im talking about when it was based on facts. " Iv never come across one Canadian that know of this show" That is a fact sorry you did not believe that for some reason eh :)
2020 watching it on Freeview loving the show the memories... next find the theme tune for listening on loop. Melodic to get you in the zone to focus feel good be productive!
I love this song, thanks for posting it:) On a related note, yesterday I watched an old repeat of a 1994 episode and it was the video to the song Ride forever made into a full episode. It was really cool, I loved it. If anyone finds the official music video you will see it is exactly the same.
I had absolutely no idea Due South was a theme tune for a television programme I thought it was just a song my brothers used to listen to and I adored. I know what I'm going to be watching now...
I thoroughly enjoyed the series - it's so much fun and a perfect foil for the majority of UK detective series that are so serious. Loved the theme tune so I'm pleased you've posted it :-)
Dana Courtoreille yeah, but there was only one 'Diefenbacker' like there was only one 'James Bond'! hands up who'll be watching reruns to try and spot the difference!
This song makes me feel so, so homesick actually. It sounds wide, sweeping, traditional and wild, like the place I grew up. I've not lived at home fully for five years - been in the city all that time. Really enjoyed my time, but I belong Up North...
@vengfulvalo i became a husky after watching the show :) not realy it made me want to go to canada and i did they asked me at halifax airport my reason for coming to canada i guess they was shocked at a uk man going to such a cold place rather than spain lol i replied i always wanted to come to canada after watching due south ill never forget hes face when i said that but it was true saw lots of RCMP but they had cars :( im going again but this time im going to sing duuue southhhhhhh on plane )
+S Harris,Sr. Amazon. I just checked .co.uk and .com... they have them. They have been out for some years now, so they will be cheep or stupidly expensive. As to quality... Well, they were just filmed for early 90's TV so the quality will never be as good as it is now :P I hope you find them ^_^
@buck1888 thanks ill look now the channels i was watching had the due souths removed it said for copy right reasons i couldent find any anywhere once again big thanks for your help
I wish I was a mountie....I always wanted to be a Canadian mountie when I was a kid, then I relised you couldn't be one in the UK. lol I thought Canada was a part of the UK, north of Scotland....I was a confused child.....I'da made a good mountie!
Good series even for us Brits. Reminds me of and early 60s programme RCMP, with Corporal Banyet. Anybody remember this? Also pissed off because wife couldn't stop saying how good looking Paul Gross is!!!
I have the entire series on DVD I might be able to help. haven't watched in some time. Is that first season, aw heck I'll just watch it beginning to end and put the disclaimer on it!
"I saluted back. And off we went, to find the hand of Franklin reaching for the Beaufort Sea. And if we do find his hand, the reaching out one!? We'll let you know!"
@truthoutmedia I had to go on a school trip which meant I had to miss three episodes. I was so pissed off. When I got home the first thing I said was 'What happened on Due South?'

when I was still a child I've seen every part of it great song great series
Love this show! One of the best them songs ever.
30kamo, the wolfs name was Diefenbacker, likely named after the Canadian prime minister in 50's/60's . Hope this helps!
Dana Courtoreille yeah, but there was only one 'Diefenbacker' like there was only one 'James Bond'! hands up who'll be watching reruns to try and spot the difference!
And I'm home. Ahhhhhh. I sure miss this show.

Memories this tunes brings.....
Loved this show, the last bit of normal life before childhood came to an abrupt end.
This song makes me feel so, so homesick actually. It sounds wide, sweeping, traditional and wild, like the place I grew up. I've not lived at home fully for five years - been in the city all that time. Really enjoyed my time, but I belong Up North...

Moi aussi je suis allé au Canada pour la même raison. J'aime la GRC
Love this show and the tune was as classic and thematic as Sonny Rhodes' Firefly song
I used tune in early enough to not miss the song. One of the reasons I loved the show. Wish I could at least watch reruns...

Yes Diefenbaker (a wolf actually) was deaf but could read lips
Lo amo. Eres mi súper amor platónico.
that wolf is stunnnig
Have wanted a car like that since 1987. Stepdad's boss had one for sale.
This just screams 90s even if you didn't know about the show.
that's one of those songs that i'd play very loud in my buick riviera 71' if i only had one *,*
Even I thought Paul Gross looks like John Barrowman. Twins.
Makes me think of Tim Hortons and Kraft dinner emmmm
Nice.
I always wished i had the heart of steel like the canadian.
I have the entire series on DVD I might be able to help. haven't watched in some time. Is that first season, aw heck I'll just watch it beginning to end and put the disclaimer on it!
Great theme song, great show, but much better with David Marciano, and Paul Gross, they had a great chemistry. I never liked the second guy.
Oh what didn't you like about him
"I saluted back. And off we went, to find the hand of Franklin reaching for the Beaufort Sea. And if we do find his hand, the reaching out one!? We'll let you know!"
