I have been watching a few videos on making wooden rings using stainless steel cores. So far, yours has been the best by far. Thanks for the info.

Thank You. These antler rings have a few little differences than wooden rings but still very similar.

Que Paso from South Texas. I recently started making rings etc, out of Whitetail Antler. I know the correct term is antler, but we at the ranch, call them horns. I have plenty of sheds to use. Axis as well. One day I hope to get as good as you. Great Work my fellow TEXAN! I subscribed, and will be watching, and learning. Adios, Shed...

Just to say I was the first, I trademarked the term "redneck ivory"

As a professional polisher I admire the overkill but I'm pretty sure you are going pretty above and beyond LOL just giving you a hard time though fantastic rings

Great video . Can you tell me do you wear a mask whilst turning and sanding the antler as I've heard it's barbed and very bad for the lungs ?

I try to wear a respirator any time I'm turning or sanding.

I used steel wool on a wooden ring and it did great on finally product. Is there a reason I shouldn't use steel wool?

I've used steel wool on some different materials, I don't see why one couldn't use it. Just like with anything I try I do a test area first just in case it doesn't work well.

We had Axis deer on the ranch where I used to hunt. There are lots of places on line where you can buy antlers.

Same as woods, on these rings I think I was turning around 1600-1700, slower when I was sanding.
