Remark: I cannot see a single reason why this most excellent song is not featured here. If you like Siouxie, don't miss this!
Love it❤❤❤❤❤
Sooooo haunting!!! My preferred version
Play this everynight (late) to piss my "lovely" neighbours off, but I fucking love it!❤
I've got lovely neighbours too, play loads of loud Bowie.😂
I was born when this song came out, and this is the song that I will die with. 💜💀💜
My FAVORITE!!!! Can’t find it on my damn music playlist so I had to come here!!! So beautifully haunting that I wrote a story around this song!!!!
This was the B side to Hong Kong Garden. On the juke box in our local pub it would not play the lyrics, we played it on repeat to wind up the landlord. When it came time to change the records he gave me the single, Imagine my surprise when I got home to discover lyrics., I am still not sure which version I prefer!
I had this EP.
same here, they hated it in my local so it went on every night lol
I used to put it on the pub jukebox on repeat. Ended up getting punched by one of the locals and a nose bleed. They took it off after that 😂
Same happened me, read above. 😂
omg....her voice is so chilling. this woman can do no wrong! I
THIS SONG WOULD CLEAR THE PUB A T CLOSING TIME
Best juke box song ever
One of my favourite songs by siouxsie and the banshees which I have on the thorn e.p and 7 inch vinyl
This is "The Thorn" version. Absolutely amazing re-make, blast it on your ears and your brain wont even know WTF hit you.
still got this single and when i bought this when it came out i was blown away that it was the b side to hong kong garden it still sends shivers up and down my spine, klass
The landlord of my local gave me the single when the jukebox guy came to update machine (1978)! He hated it...and me!
This is my first impression of Siouxsie... and it's absolutely amazing. Consider me in love. :)
Thanks so much for this! I haven't heard this since my dearest friend, now departed, made "tapes" for me in the 80s, and this was one of them. Brings back great memories.
So ridiculously underrated
One of her best.❤
who prefers the original 'voices' on the b-side of hong kong garden..its phenomenal.
Me😊
that's what i was searching for; i didn't know there was a later ep version until now.
always used to play HKG once the chinese was ordered and on it's way then flip it over for the original version of this and sing along but change the words to 'hoisin' because i'm a smart arse, funny bugger...
Couldn't have been 84 as I was working in Germany when this came out in 78.
Jam Jar Both of you are correct. "Voices" was originally the B-side to 1978's "Hongkong Garden". It was also on this E.P., which came out in '84.
spinalcrackerbox Ahh cool man, didn't know it was re-released on an EP. I think that along with HKG are my favourite songs of theirs.
Jam Jar The two versions are radically different, the 78 version has the post punk sound.I tend to like that version better
2:04 The best part of this dark song.🖤💜🌑
@marancara awesome... i listen to her everyday.
I prefer this version, but both are excellent. Same for the other Thorn versions.
NICE JUST AS I REMENERED
Hey dont compare her with anyone else, she is unique
love her, love this
when i bought hong kong garden and discovered this on the flip it rocked my world, then and now !
godamn i had forgotten how haunting this woman could be.
i agree i loved this b side to hong kong garden, this is slightly different version though isnt it from the single
🖤
I do. I don't really think the Banshees ever needed strings, though they work pretty well on this version. Sioux/Severin/McKay/Morris was the best line-up the Banshees ever had.
LUV IT
fucking amazing!!!!
84 try 78 ive got the record love it
I first heard this version on the John Peel show late one night driving home. I literally had to pull over or I think I would have crashed the car.
so do I
ΚΑΛΟ ΜΕΣΗΜΕΡΙ!
@74stigma b side? blast, born in the wrong decade!!!!!!!!
this was the b side to hong kong garden released in 1978. not 84
Can't comment on my sexual desire 😂
Goosepimples
she kinda looks like Ian Curtis
