  • This video goes over a few different recipes of liquid cultures.
Liquid cultures are a fantastic way to propagate and increase mycelium networks, they speed up colonization times by over half!
Here is what you will need:
    - Wide mouth or regular quart mason jar(s).
    -600ml of water per jar.
    - 4% of a sugar of choice: 1g or 24ml per 600ml of water.
-Sugars: Light malt extract, corn syrup light, honey, maple syrup... etc feel free to experiment with your own!
    - Pressure cook at 15psi for 20 minutes.
    - Let cool 12-24 hours, then inoculate!
    - OPTIONAL Marble or a glass bottle can be used by breaking , clean up a few medium pieces and use those instead of marbles. Make sure to use safety equipment and safety precautions if doing so.

I know this is late, but a video on the outcome of the different mixes would have been neat to see. I use light malt extract plus peptone. does great. but if I can goto the market and get corn syrup for similar results. I'm all for it

I believe i have a video update for the results, i just haven't had time to edit yet. Hopefully I can get to it soon.

This was VERY very helpful. I really need to watch someone do something to learn, and you’re the first person I’ve found that does it for this step 🙌🏻💓

If you put your jar on your scales before you turn it on it will turn on at 0.00 and then add your needed weight to ther jar directly

I need a bigger scale :) the mason jar overloads it to error unfortunately!

If you were after a 4% solution, your volumes were way out. You made solutions that were way under concentration at only 0.16%.

May I ask, how did you figure 4%? 1g or honey, for example, given its density is about 0.7ml of volume. 4% out of 600ml would have been 24ml. How does your math work?

4% by volume ? applox 4% has been proven to work best for LC. anything from 1% to 6% should work depending of various factors. just experiment around and keep your myc happy and don't worry too much about the math
