I'm also not a huge fan when it's darker, usually means some of the sugar caramelized during PC. But to answer your question, i will take a sample of the Liquid Culture, and drop it on agar. Over the next few days, growth should show as well as if anything is contaminated. Once I've established it's clean, then good to use for transfer to grains! I appreciate the questions, thank you. 🙌
I believe you are referring to the flow hood! It basically filters and pushes out clean air (filters 99 micron). This allows for a much cleaner space to work in, other contaminates and bacteria have a highly reduced chance to be present, Allowing spores or mycelium no competition for a healthy growth! How do you know the LC is ok using the darker coloured LC? I use glucose syrup cos it's clear. Not dissin just asking👍
