GRAMMY, CMA and ACM award winner Ashley McBryde cut her teeth playing country songs in biker bars - and it shows. The Grand Ole Opry member’s 2018 major label debut Girl Going Nowhere (Warner Music Nashville) charmed The New York Times, NPR, Rolling Stone, Paste, The Washington Post and more, all en route to landing a GRAMMY nomination for Best Country Album. McBryde closed out 2019 with ACM New Female Artist, CMT Breakout Artist, a New Artist of the Year win at the 53rd Annual CMA Awards and two nominations for the 2020 GRAMMYs for Best Country Song and Best Country Solo Performance for “Girl Goin’ Nowhere.” Her follow-up Never Will was tagged by Rolling Stone as one of the most anticipated of the year alongside NPR, who also ranked her Top 10 RIAA Platinum-Certified single “One Night Standards” as one of the best songs of 2019. The album earned McBryde a 2021 GRAMMY nomination for Best Country Album, making Never Will the only album nominated for Country Album of the Year by the ACMs, CMAs and the Recording Academy in the same award season. Her GRAMMY-winning duet with Carly Pearce, “Never Wanted To Be That Girl,” went all the way to No. 1 and earned McBryde and Pearce the ACM and CMA award for Musical Event of the Year. McBryde was also honored with the 2022 CMA International Artist Achievement Award for the most significant creative growth, development and promotion of the country music industry outside of the United States. Her collaborative project Ashley McBryde Presents: Lindeville featuring Brothers Osborne, Brandy Clark, Pillbox Patti, Caylee Hammack, Aaron Raitiere and Benjy Davis earned McBryde her third consecutive GRAMMY nomination for Best Country Album, making her a six-time GRAMMY nominee. The project earned McBryde her second consecutive nomination for CMA Album of the Year, along with Music Video of the Year for “Light On In The Kitchen” from her latest critically acclaimed album, The Devil I Know.

We visited the Crimson Moon almost a year ago because you all wrote this song. We travel full-time and fell in love with the charm of the town, the history, and well the Crimson Moon. It was all Miss Ashley said it was. Good food, good people, and cold drinks. So happy I got to experience this before they moved. It was a moment when a song came to life. The first time my husband heard me singing along to this, he said you know that Dahlonega is a real place... Congratulations on your Grand Ole Opry invitation. We will be there cheering you on from the front row of the balcony. And thank you to all three of you for pouring your hearts and heartache into such a beautiful song.

I went to The Crimson Moon several times and saw Michelle Malone and also Shawn Mullins. I didn't win a ticket to the last show! It was a special place and I Love the fact that Ashley McBryde put it on the map and closed it down!

@@jenniferdawson2837 - I’m now unsure. We saw a flyer for performances, the last time we were in Dahlonega. But, haven’t been there since.

I live in Atlanta and Dahlonega is one of our favorite places to go. The first time we saw Ashley McBride six years ago and we heard that song my husband and I fell in love with it. We love Dahlonega so much that we actually got married there and had our first dance at Crimson Moon a.k.a. Little dive bar in Dahlonega. I will miss it so much.

After my mom's death, I moved to GA to live with family. Things didn't work out with the family. I found myself homeless living in my car. Until the bar manager April took me in. Love her forever! I lived in Dahlonega and work at The Crimson Moon for months as a server. It was a home for me when I had none. It also opened this California girls mind to other ways of life. Changing my ideology forever. I am forever thankful. This song brought it all back. God bless The Crimson Moon, Dahlonega GA 🌻💛

Any idea why it shut down? When I moved to the area, I was looking forward to visiting, only to discover it had disappeared.

Truer words have never been written, I mean they might have but I'm talking in the moment and it's a song that in 40 years can still be said of. That makes a story that'll be around and people will have it get them through long after we're gone that's a hit . A home run all day long.
    Sincerely
    Rocky.

I believe I was at that Shawn Mullins show referenced in this video. I played at the Crimson Moon many times with two local musical heros Tom and Julie Theobald. I feel bad it closed. Dana is so great. She brought so many great groups to Dahlonega. Oh, and go to Dahlonega on a Sunday during the good weather…incredible bluegrass jams on the square. If you play, just step into any number of pick up bands all over the square…play some and move on to the next group. Some serious music in that neck of north GA.

I find it so odd about the reference to my buddy Shawn Mullins. A year or so before he really hit the big time I was in Atlanta going to the NYE party at Rainy Day Records. After a day of music several of us wound up in a Waffle House with Shawn Mullins. I literally sat across the table from this man in a booth listening to him talk and tell stories. He still is one of my favorite musicians and to have seen him at the Crimson Moon, it would have only been one step better than seeing him at Eddie's Attic in Decatur.

Until I heard the story I thought that you were playing at a bar somewhere in Ireland as the town name sounds Irish.
