It always makes me so happy and warms my heart when I see 2926 get out and about and see all the people that come out to see her and look at her and smile and all the Happy faces. Really enjoyed that gentleman who brought his Lionel 2926 model and all the interesting shots they took of it and its larger version together and the comments too. There was one thing they left out they should have put 2926 on the rail and ran a cord from the back of it up to the real 2926 like the little tiny version's going to pull it. Somebody did the same thing with N&W 611 years ago. What I'm waiting for and looking forward to the most is when she will get out on the main line and really show us her true power and speed. And of course the day when she and sister 3751 will meet up and see each other again.
The 2926 ran out on the mainline last year for New Mexico Railroad Days. Went from the spur line to the old Santa Fe shops in Albuquerque. The society is still working with the state of New Mexico and Amtrak to prepare the 2926 for future mainline excursions out of Albuquerque on NM DOT tracks. The society also needs to set up their new home base at the Albuquerque shops.
Thanks for a nice railfan video and sharing for those of us who cannot be there in person. The music selection is quite odd though and does cause distraction from the video.
Heavy metal is the best music to run steam locomotives to. It's literally the description of a steam locomotive, not to mention fire and brimstone(well, firebrick...), what's more metal than a steam locomotive?
New Mexico Heritage Rail needs to prepare for their new site (the old Santa Fe shops) and work with BNSF, Amtrak, and NM DOT before starting public excursions out of Albuquerque, NM. They will happen in the future.
@@modelrailwaybackshop Don’t worry. We will. It will also help if you can spread the word and encourage people to donate to New Mexico Heritage Rail, because they are a federally registered 501 c 3 non profit organization and rely heavily on donations to keep the momentum going for their goals.
The society is setting up their new home to prepare 2926 for future excursions. Specifically at the old Santa Fe shops in Albuquerque (after working with the city itself). Mainline excursions will happen in the future.
@@TranscontinentalRailfan that is correct, they can technically still run excursions, hell they can run them now from the sawmill spur after they upgrade their PTC to full. And plus they need to lease passenger carsvas well. It's BNSF that is the problem.

Yeah! Free the engine! Let her run! Great video! Thanks.
I’m loving this video and are they using the MVM music from Tf2
Edit: just looking at the description with three tf2 music makes this even BETTER
I'm pumped to see this in person, I can't wait.
Good to see the old girl out on her spur. 👍🏻😁
Why is it that my first inclination on these videos is to comment on how awesome the whistle is? 🤷♂️😂
2:52 so clean
Man, it's so go to see run again. I wish to see the steamer run out on the main line if the railroad can allow the loco.
Also, I love the shots on the running gear. Keep it up!

Man it’d be so awesome to see 2926 and 3751 doing a run together. Just thinking about it makes me kinda giddy.
I am eagerly awaiting her first long excursion!

Why is there TF2 Music here?
I'm not complaining, I'm just confused.
So glad she got to stretch her legs for a bit
When will ATSF 2926 Pull Amtrak or an Excursion?

@@chooch1764 I sure hope so! I want to see her hauling a passenger train so bad!

Will she pull excursion trains in the future?
Yes, in the future
When is 2926 gonna hit the mainline for a real passenger run?
