@@gamelover1779 Yeah they always just say "its actually impossible to do this, this would be very inefficiant" I mean its a fantasy game, atleast the combat kinda is. I never find reactions where people dont just unnecessarily critique everything.
I just love that I said "She's a ghost" at literally the exact same time.
They are here to talk about if the swordfighting is realistic it somewhat true to real life and as far as they are concerned it isn't doesn't matter if she is a ghost
@@arcstrider4505 True but to be fair - she’s a ghost. No muscles to support, no pain to feel, no body to get tired.
It's always nice to see people on this channel that actually understand that it's a game.
It's better for the viewer and the creator, people aren't here to be told that the obviously fantasy mechanics aren't realistic. They want to know how realistic the sword play is.
@@lazypayday4476 Yeah honestly it annoys me when the clueless people they bring on sometimes get all upset over "unrealistic" mechanics.
Fun fact: the Chinese have actually created airtight seals in their scabbards in ancient times as we have recovered a bronze sword that is called the sword of Goujian that is still in near perfect condition even though it was made 2,500 years ago as the airtight seal of the scabbard prevented it from corroding
And some idiot worker ruined it (the sword)...
Imagine exhibiting what is probably the best preserved piece of ancient metal in the world and you're acting like a bull in a china shop around it.

Parkour Experts react to Mirrors Edge
The rolls are not realistic as they look like faith rolls over her spine which really hurts and is dangerous. The wall runs she does are too long realistically u can get 3 steps max after that u would slowly go away from the wall and fall off. And this one is quite obvious but sliding is not easy unless the floor is like marble or your in like sand or something slippery. Also long parkour runs are extremely tiring just going for 10 minutes straight is gonna leave you more tired than running a marathon
santi_super_stunts he said parkour expert not random RUclips guy
FrankButcher Jr Can be both
Stitchowi lol I appreciate u defending me. But while I’m no “expert” I have been training parkour for over 4 years now soon to be 5 so I’m not just a random guy either
@@santi_super_stunts2573 yeah, but we have no way of knowing that lol
“And the Japanese aesthetic is so spot on without being too cheesy”
Hmmmm it’s almost like this game was developed in Japan by a Japanese game director who works for a Japanese gaming company
But Ghost of tsushima also nails the asthetic and it is made by Sucker Punch, a Company that is pretty not japanese.
If a Studio tries hard enough and gets the perfect people for the job it doesnt matter where they are from.
@@Schwuga ghost of Tsushima is great don’t get me wrong but there are some inaccuracies
@@dogeramsey9154 It was primarily inspired by Kurosawa films, which is why it's both "grounded" and "mythical" all at once.

Have you guys done Nioh yet?
For Nioh they should do historical and yokai experts react to Nioh instead. Nioh's extensive lore goes all the way back hundreds if not thousands of years.
Yakuza react to Yakuza
I think there was an interview back when Yakuza 3 came out with members of the Yakuza. I remember they liked how it portrayed Kiryu as not some crazy or evil person just because he was a Yakuza; he had a code and cared about the people close to him and wanted to do right. I also remember this funny exchange (paraphrased):
Yakuza Guy 1: “I like that he runs an orphanage, I actually knew a guy in one of the clans who actually ran an orphanage too.”
Yakuza Guy 2: “Wasn’t he running it as a tax dodge?”
Yakuza Guy 1: “Of course he was! But it was still a real orphanage!”
If anyone can find that interview it’s really neat.
6:58 MY POWER IS ABSOLUTE *judgement cut end*
I've been requesting this for so long
7:49 hesitation is defeat
I’d like to make a correction that I found they were a little inaccurate on.
For clarification, a samurai is a social class, and a shonobi AKA Ninja is a job, these two things aren’t in opposition to one another, you can have a samurai who’s also a ninja, and the honor Code thing isn’t entirely accurate, you can also have a samurai who stealthy kills his Victims, honor is more so that you win rather than by the means of which you do it. Great video regardless
I think there are so many differences between samurai and shinobi
1. Samurai never hides and stay as a protector of people with his own will and emotion whereas shinobi also protect it but as a job not as a free will…shinobis mostly work under someone and does their job…
2. Samurais are mainly focused on just battles with bulk of enemies the reason why they put on such a heavy armor…whereas shinobis are mainly stealthy…they surprisingly kills enemies with no clues and they are also used in fetching info of enemies and as of for being stealthy they need to jump, climb, hide, run faster which is the main reason they never put armor on.
3. Samurais can be referred as sheriff of town whereas shinobi can be referred as a soldier…
Can we get a part 3 to where they react to the boss fights? I would love that so much
I just want to say as someone who has beaten the game on “no kuros charm” (hard mode) and someone who watches lots of Japanese martial arts I am so impressed by what you do and it is crazy to think I have done something you haven’t managed, even if it is just a video game. I know this comment is very late but I just wanted to praise the amazing things you guys do!
I mean it’s just a game. Many people don’t want to fight a single boss for hours on end.
@@yourstruly5013 Yeah. The point of my comment is to praise the incredible things these martial artists are able to do and state how comparatively simple and easy playing difficult games is to what they do in real life. I might not have expressed that in the clearest way but I hope this response clears it up.
I enjoyed their analysis. Some of Sekiro's moves are legit chalked up to magic in the game so they're definitely on the right track with regards to the unrealistic side of things.
You know you are old when you see Brendon Huor with a beard. Nice to see one of the oldest members of Thousand Pounds. Besides he looks like the older brother of Yoshi. 😅
This game is amazing. The combat looks and feels so good.
I feel like i'm the only one who was more scared of the giant coy fish than the snake.
I fought the Spear General guy, and I’d heard he was the hardest mini boss in the game, and on my second try I got him, I haven’t gotten to the part where he has his mate with him yet, I found the Shinobi you face after him more challenging. But still, just a little flex
The moment you mastered the timing to do Mikiri Counter, bosses that relied heavily on thrust attack became child's play
@@jaketheasianguy3307 nah he had a lot of long range slashing attacks too, I found him pretty difficult and he was like my last prayer beat after beating Isshin (you need to know how to mikiri to beat Isshin). Def not child’s play. But I’m talking about the very last iteration of the spear guy, the first spear guy was pretty easy.
Day 3 of asking for “HEMA practitioners react to blade and sorcery”
HEMA community is cancerous, they always find everything stupid and unrealistic
Serious question, could you have realistic fighting technique in a game and still have it be a solid enjoyable experience? And I mean in a game along the lines of this not something that's ment to be closer to a sym which you're going into expecting a more grounded degree of gameplay.
I would say on a spectrum of arcadey to grounded the most realistic swordplay can be found in Ghost of Tsushima, Mordhau, and Hellish Quart. They each have very realistic elements of sword combat.
Just subbed to this channel. I really like how they bring subject matter experts into their videos to discuss subjects.

Amazing video
They should analyze Nioh, since it has the armor and several weapons
Yea they should have Japanese history experts react to the vast historical references of not just the equipment but also people, locations, and events.
@@GuyWithAnAmazingHat nah, Nioh is definitely a fantasy game, historical experts would be better for something like total war or assassin's Creed that's advertised as being historically accurate
@@brytheguy4515 No, did you know that every single event in the game is taken directly from history?
William was actually the person who changed Japanese warfare towards the end of the Sengoku era by empowering Tokugawa with his cache of guns and cannons, so in a way he actually helped unite Japan under Tokugawa's rule.
Stuff like Okatsu marrying William in Nioh 2 is a direct reference to Tokugawa marrying his daughter to William to keep him in Japan.
Even the cannon fired by William's ship Liefde during the Battle of Sekigahara in the game is a direct historical reference. That cannon shot changed the tide of battle, pushing Kobayakawa Hideaki to order his forces to join Tokugawa's side.
There is so much history in this game, it is more history than fantasy. It's basically a history game with mythology added to it. This game is literally more historically accurate than Ghost of Tsushima which uses original characters and plot, the real events that happened in history had a completely different outcome with the samurai on the island killed and Mongols destroying the island.
