    This one, like a lot of the cocktail time models is gorgeous. I used to own the light blue date dial and power reserve. I did like it, but think I would prefer the plain dial like this. But it always did feel just too big for it's purpose, so that's stopped me from buying again. However very beautiful, classy models

    I was impressed after viewing this watch model along with other colored scheme variations in person.
    This brown dial along with the green stands out than even the usual blue dial.
    I was tempted to get one of these but the lacked of lumed hands and low water resistance rating made it a deterrent purchase factor.
    Though so, its still one of the more attractive watches in Seiko's products lineup that gets interest even from my family.
    Thanks for your review and I am amazed at how their watch box could even spin on that table surface!
    Best regards.

      @@PerthWAtch well. My eyes are getting real bad. I only refer to the face. This too looks like a patch of leather from? I dunno, an old flight jacket either the center cleaned real well. Is there a name for this face style, like sunburst... not that but. Beach something? I like it. Seems fresh but classic. The only fault I see is the crystal. Then again, I'd likely only wear it to meetings or church. I like the strap. I bought 2 with butterfly catch but it's hard to use. I think this may be perfect. And as always, gold plate is never good. In my opinion. Still. Very nice!

    There are genuinely fantastic options across the Presage line and the differing Cocktail Time pieces are certainly amongst those. Regarding the water resistance - I have used pieces with Push/Pull crowns swimming many, many times... a threaded crown isn't absolutely necessary but with a 5 ATM rating I wouldn't take that one under, I don't think.

    • @PerthWAtch
      @PerthWAtch  3 года назад

      Thanks for sharing from your experience - I think a screw down isn’t absolutely needed (I have Citizen and Casio rated 100m with push crown and they do fine), but equally I have had a number of 50m push crowns end up letting water in after a swim.

    Good video as usual mate. I bought a Presage last week here in Brisbane, blue dial/face, , but bracelet, not leather strap. The Cocktail series is a good dress watch, goes well with denim jeans and a white long sleeve business shirt I bought the white face one in 2018. Only thing with the bracelet is the clasp, it's ok, but a bit annoying compared to Prospex and Coutura models, or Citizen Eco Drive clasps.

    This range is so beautiful, I like watches but never thought I would own one. But I was looking in the shop window and the Seiko from this range on its own was the most beautiful watch in the window. It's definitely on the flashy side but if you think about all these garage watches with huge dials it just about slips under the radar. It's almost like an everyday work watch this happens to be extra beautiful. I have the open heart and I was wondering about having a completely pure dial but I don't think that would be a good idea because because he's aren't the most accurate all you have to focus on is the fact that we've time isn't that accurate, it's nice to have some other elements. Also if it was plain dial I think it might be too beautiful to dressy, you just want to stare at it with a complications have some depth to the watch otherwise it's literally just a pretty face.

    Nice enough watch I prefer some of the alternative colours. There is no excuse for hardlex, it will scratch, more so with being domed. If they didn't want to fit sapphire they should have used acrylic and at least you can polish out the scratches. Not sure if I see the point of that clasp, you have to push a pin through a hole then feed the slack through the keepers, why not a normal buckle and either reduce the price or fit sapphire?

    • @PerthWAtch
      @PerthWAtch  3 года назад +2

      This buckle is pretty good IMO... it allows you to fit the strap to your personal size, and then leave it for as long as it's only you wearing it. Only need to change when changing wearers (e.g. letting someone else try it on). With a normal pin buckle the wear and tear (as you will know if you use those) around the hole that fits you is considerable, and shortens the life of the strap quite a lot in comparison.

    hello Ivan. It has been a while since I commented. I hope that everything is going well with you in Perth. In L.A., from June 15, we do not have to wear masks anymore since most of us got vaccinated already. And I just came back from Guatemala, checking up on my coffee business (which is zilch at this moment in time) & NGO work for the families we are supporting. And unfortunately Guatemala is doing pretty bad, like most of 3rd world countries.... (you get jailed 24 hours if you do not wear masks on the street and in any types of shops...etc)
    As for this Seiko Presage, I love the size, hands and especially the muffin crown. However, I am not a big fan of that sunburst dial nor that deployant clasp which is bit uncomfortable to wear. I am sure that a lot of people likes that design, but it is not for me. however, I can not help myself from comparing this to Orient bambino Model: FAC00001B0 which is exactly same looking one, except just shinny dial with regular crown, but with only one third of price.
    I am sure that Seiko has better name and it has that muffin crown & deployant clasp & especially that sunburst dial, but I do not think that should cost more than 3 times than the Orient Bambino. However, I also can see that many people might prefer to have that gorgeous sunburst dial.
    Thanks for the review Ivan and hope to see you here more often.

    • @PerthWAtch
      @PerthWAtch  3 года назад

      Hey thanks Alex - glad to hear you made it back without any issues, it's good work you are doing there!
      I think the comfort of this style of clasp very much depends on where it sits on the wrist... if you have average size (like around 7 inch) then it is actually quite good, sitting on about the 4th-5th hole along. Larger or smaller then it gets a bit awkward because of the fixed curvature. That's an unfortunately by product of this type of design.
      Orient Bambino are legendary... maybe I should get one for review just so I have at least done it!!
