Im surprised the beavers didn't put up a wanted poster with his face on it yet. 😂
This is a little place I've been going for a few decades now and the dam has always been in this deteriorating State and the signs that went up is just a form of laziness instead of unclogging the problem. The reason the dam is in a failing state in the first place is because they allow this clog to form overtime and in the winter the high water freezes breaking the dam. If they would just keep up with maintenance the deterioration would have never happened.
Definitely enjoy when U do the split screen of the progression of the water flow as you unclog the dam
I'm simply blown away by your energy, knowledge, and thoughtfulness.
This is truly some of the best content on this site and definitely what this world needs more of. You are an exceptional human, and it is truly an honor to share the planet with people like you.
Take care of yourself (continue being safe!), and thank you so much for taking the time to share yourself with the world. I wish you nothing but happiness and all the best
You do an excellent public service. There will always be the naysayers and under miners, but you carry on - we need people who are part of the solution, not part of the problem. Greetings from New Zealand.
Hey Post10, great job on that clog. I was wondering if that was silt built up in a cone before the spillway or was that poured concrete? When the water was blasting I didn’t see as much of it go away as I had expected which led me to think it was concrete? Will you be going back and clearing the debris below the dam this week too? Maybe you should bring a picnic lunch for you and your lady friend? 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼😉
To be fair, the path could be posted as closed, due to the poor condition of the bridge and the broken concrete.
Sharp-eyed fans of Post 10 were treated to a glimpse of the ever-steady camera operator, Ghost 10, if only as a shadow. Good to have someone nearby in case that monstrous flow caught you up! Another superb video!
Damn youuuu! I thought I was special lol

I was wondering in another video why he kept saying “we” and “us”.
Now I know! Lol
YUPS!!!
The sound of the running water and the sun sparkling on the water makes for a soothing experience. Calming and chill.
One of the most satisfying uncloggings. That flow looked pretty powerful, wouldn't want to slip in there.
I don't know what I find so relaxing about watching trapped water get freed but I even find myself clearing away leaves and mud from drains and street gutters when I'm taking the dog out. Not full-on Post10 style, just a bit with my foot most of the time.
Post10 is nature's plumber. Very satisfying to watch!
You described Government perfectly...... dont fix problems.....when you can just put up a sign to restrict the people who pay for everything
I was thinking more along the lines of “it’s not my job”.
@@Guitarzan8 that too....like guys who paint road stripes right over road kill
its not a problem until it effects their house
So, you got the millions of dollars needed to retrofit that dam into something safe to navigate to the US Forestry service trail standards? Cause, the USFS sure as hell doesn't, and pulling the beaver dam won't make that path safe. That's the problem with dams, everyone loves the benefits it provides but balk at the cost it takes to keep them maintained and safe. I'm sure as heck not going to let people on it if it looks like it will fail at any moment. I'll post a sign, and the people can assess it themselves whether they want to risk dying on it or not.
At least in my city as a dpw worker, we’ve been getting chopped and cutback on for over a decade. Agreed 10 years ago, lazy bastards! Today, way too much work for not enough guys. Usually get less than a 1% raise and falling too far behind private sector in wages to get skilled labor.
I watch all these vids, it is so satisfiing when the flow starts and the level drops.
Somebody from MDOT is gonna arrive tomorrow to fix that only to find that it magically fixed itself! They'll be able to enjoy a day sitting inside the truck listening to podcasts thanks to your hard work. haha
Thank God it's not the mass dot's responsibility
@@post.10 That situation says to me "budget cuts" - someone decided that it's cheaper to post signs telling people not to use the trail across the dam, than to attempt any type of maintenance or upkeep. The shape that bridge was in, says it's been some time since they even bothered with the basics.
Exactly! Contact Mass DCR.
Is it even MA? Ir is it NH or ME? He goes all over
Or whoever was supposed to clear this clog will sit and watch post-10 video unclogging yesterday what they were supposed to do today.
Another great job Post, bridge needs replacing and new concrete to make this trail safe again!
I love your channel dude .. you are doing God's work and this is by far the best unclogging you have ever done. just the sheer water power and all it took is 10 minutes..
Great job Postie!! Cheers from Northern New Jersey. All of New England loves you dude🤘🤘
Notice how much wind its generating. Oh yes, and the glittering water looks amazing.
It's probably closed due to the missing concrete sidewalk that leads to the bridge, instead of being closed due to the clog alone.
I was thinking the same. But did the clog start the concrete damage?
@@teenyab Hmm... perhaps!
I love how you call out all the jobs worths.... Keep up the good work buddy 👍
Park Ranger: Should we break up the beaver dam? Nawww just staple a sign up.
Sounds like you got a cold, stay safe out there. Don't get too cold.
You can really see how strong the current is. I like that.
love the sound of water especially on hot days.
you do great work keep it up.
God bless
14:46 The irony, is the beavers made that sign to keep Post 10 away.
Meanwhile... Robin unclogs beaver dams on his spare time, just waiting for Batman to call.
Enjoyed the video as usual. Wondering if the "closed" sign was due to the washed out pavement (at least in part).
Post 10 is the final boss for the beaver species
Amazing! Good for you for fixing what the guys that put those signs up as you said could easily have done.👍
Great video Post. Really enjoy watching your videos.
That was awesome 😍
Would have loved to see downstream as all that water come through 😊💕👍🏽
How satisfying was that to watch ? I loved that . I would have liked to see where the water ended up . Was it another pond or a babbling brook that suddenly became a rapid run ?
Still making videos, good on you mate I've not had one pop-up in my feed for a while
Did anyone else worry if post 10 would be swept away, omg looks so dangerous. Well done though xx
You must have had 5 gallons of water in your left boot alone!!! hahaha Good Job!
Post: the whole damn needs to be replaced
Beavers: are we a joke to you?
I absolutely love your videos and wish I were young enough to clear these plugs with you.
Calm sunset, relaxing water and all those gentle breezes..... 😭 Mannn i wish i was therw
Hi just a fun fact but in Scotland a beaver dam is what we call a woman's sanitary towel. Gives this video a whole different swing.
Do we know if there are other reasons than laziness that they are choosing to not unclog the dam? Are there potential issues downstream that would suffer from an immense amount of flow? Are there wildlife habitats of endangered species that would be destroyed? I don't know the situation, but it would be worth looking into other reasons, rather than assuming laziness
😑
That was very great work! I wish you had a portable flowmeter and see what was the gallons per minute rate before and after so we see exactly how much help you did. Stay safe :-)
Your doing a fantastic job keep it up & god bless you post 10
Looking forward to the follow-up video next week.
These videos are extremely satisfying
If you could lift that bridge, who knows how far that thing could get flung if the river ever floods
Do you do this for fun as a hobby. or is this your job. I really enjoy watching your videos
So where did all that water end up? Good that the trail is clear, but are there any villages downstream of that damn?
Would be awesome if you could set up some cameras some ways down stream, love the videos.
I have been watching your videos for a long time, this one made me very nervous. That current looked really fast, I was worried it would catch your boots and pull you down. I know you know what your doing but please be careful. Great video BTW 🤗
good choice on top but you needed some hip waders on this one! anyways nice work man.
This post 10 guy is amazing he like to get is hands wet and get the job done not like some people sod it and just leave it and put up a stupid sign!!!!!
The people downstream are wondering what the hell is going on! 😂
Isn't the guard rail of that bridge the wrong way around? I would have expected to have the railing on the side that actually has a drop if you fall off... Or just put them on both sides. Maybe one fell off?
Anybody else low key wondering if one of these videos is gonna turn into a snuff film. Watching him clear out that jam with his feet when the current really started moving had me like 😬
U shud use a 5 tine pitch fork. U cud move a lot more degree in all that mud. Just a suggestion. Lov watching you tearing up the dams.
Now I want an unclogging simulator
Do you think the beavers are watching you from distance? That bridge are quite sketchy and needs to be replaced, repaired or upgraded :)
Hello! Thanks (for your work and the video)! _
I sure would like to see you wear your "cheapo" gloves when working with sharp twigs and possibly splinter-filled boards. Plus some eye protection (from brush poised to stab you).
I think you must have very good balance to not go slip sliding on those wet leaves. (Did this get you in practice for black ice under snow yet to come?) _
I wonder how many people downstream go running for their lives thinking the dam failed.
It's definitely him LMAO thanks for the video Post 10
Nice work!
Post is equivalent to the lockpickinglawyer, nothing stand in their way.
Someone get this man a pair of hip waders.
He is thinking, damn I should of worn my taller boots. Also who was the creeper in the background taking pictures at the beginning?
17 min's In rake that underwater shore behind you will make deeper water flow!!
Where is all the water draining to?
These are great videos to watch, but I wonder a couple of things with this one. The "muck bar" makes it seem like that clog has been there for some time. Jokes aside, do we know what the downstream effects are of releasing that volume of water at that rate? Also, the few tons of mud? Also, nothing is supporting the railing of that silly bridge anymore.
You should get a trapper license for remove of the beaver after clearing the clog or contract with the people to maintain a monthly check on culverts. Either way, get paid for time and materials used. Help with fuel, food, and spending. I use to get $25 per beaver that was relocated.
The government has to do paperwork to please everyone. Plus, government workers don't do anything unless told per line on job order.
Just in case you havent heard this lately, GREAT JOB!!!
I like to think of some guy sitting in the backyard enjoying his little creek that runs behind his house. It doesn't flow like it used but then Post 10 comes along, clearing the clog upstream and a torrent of water comes shooting through and he's like WTF?!?
The Kelley's Creek flood video comes to mind...
Well find the guy. Don't break a fingernail...
Well that sounds pretty accurate
Shaking his fist at the sky shouting POST 10!!!!
I thought the same thing!
The beavers are looking at each other scratching their heads asking, “how did he find us??? The man is everywhere !!! “.
Post 10: starts unclogging
Beavers: Ah sh*t, here we go again
Let us appreciate how our dear *post 10* fixed the issue in less time than it took someone to order a sign manufactured for closing the pass. Problem solved by a man of action.
Take notes bureaucrats~📜
To be fair, the problem looks to be a lot worse than just a clog, and Post 10 said so himself: the wooden bridge is rotten and falling apart, and the concrete's deteriorated to the point that the walkway would be risky even if the water wasn't cresting over it.
The whole dam will probably have to be re-done or at the very least heavily refurbished, and that's the kind of effort that takes a minute to manage, especially when you consider the fact that infrastructure country-wide's been deteriorating for years due to neglect and financial issues.
@@LabTech41 even if they want to keep the sign up due to general deterioration of the walkway, they still should have spent 5 minutes to unclog the spillway, to prevent further rapid deterioration.
In my county, we have many projects like this hiking trail/dam. They were made in the 1930-40's by the WPA and our CCC. Maintenance is our generation's responsibility - not every county has a Post 10. You are a hero to all who love nature - thank you!
that was cool . when you first started i dint even think it was a dam . dint look like there was anything there like that . after i could not beleave how much room was under that bridge . i will say i was a little worried about your safety . that was alot of flow . great job was very fun to watch . best wishes to you and ghost ten .
This might be one of the coolest names on YT. lol!
I've been watching for over a year now, I think this is my favourite video so far. Great job. I would be fascinated to know how many staff it took to make the decision to design, produce and erect the signs.
Probably more than it would have taken to say "Dave and Jim, go unclog the dam/bridge on trail number whatever!"
I wondered if it was a resident that did it, as it was pretty low tech and there wasn’t any safety tape across the bridge. In my town they would have used safety tape and cones and maybe a big safety sign.
Was thinking the same. As those in charge prefer to have machines do the work instead of "risk" a worker getting a back injury or swept away, image if an excavator or back hoe lifted that bridge out of the way and then took out the clog and put the bridge back. How long would it take even an averagely skilled driver to do this. About the same time it took to erect that sign. Would the dam be in better shape if those in charge of it hadn't waited for Mr 10 to do the job for them. Post 10 needs to get paid for what he does. How much is being paid to those supposed to be doing the job.
How dare you suggest work be done without a 90-day public comment period, bid acceptance and review, ballot proposition drafting…
They have to take it to the congress and must win majority of votes before they can put the post up.

Post you should get an award for all you do. Honestly, you're like on community volunteer that travels four states in the surrounding area to make nature more compatible for wildlife and humans to co exist. It's a real shame that those in charge of that trail would rather close a trail area. Than clean it up so it remains passable. In this world and time. Sometimes getting into a wildlife area just for a hike. Can help alleviate the stress and pressure of how we're living in this world of today. Awesome video and always relaxing to hear the sound of water returning to it's natural flow and how it was intended to be. Most beautiful area. 🦫🪵🦫🪵🦫👍♥️
Do some research on how beavers are a keystone species
By destroying their habitat and not allowing them to make dams, we destroy the deep water reserves the beavers 🦫 make
There are other ways to coexist with beavers
Maybe building trails in other ways or other places
What’s more important? Water reserves or a nice day hiking?
When I was a kid, we had a very small stream that ran through the farm. During the drought days, it still trickled like a creek. But sometimes, we'd walk up the hill and it would be blocked and we'd unblock it and the water ran smoothly again. It came down the mountain and ran into a culvert and across and down the property until it met our farm. So when it was unblocked we had nice clean water to use for the garden. I'm surprised that more people don't go out and unclog these. Just as he did in this video. Don't they wonder why their water has slowed down or stopped? When I saw that water gush, wow. That's water power.
"This bridge even feels dangerous walking on it."
Post: Proceeds to walk on it anyway.

the closure could also be because of the condition of the cement and the wooden structure over over the dam. they MAY come and fix it in a couple years or so. lol
